"It's cheaper to replace to box than it is for me to use my time." I cannot tell you how much that statement helped me. I had to play this back to remind myself today. Thank you for all the education my friend. Keep up the good work!
I found a method on rough diamond plate that works decently. Wool pad with zephyr pro40. Of course the damaged bits arent gonna be the greatest but trust me. It helps alot.
Been watching your videos since I been polishing and you have taught me a lot and I really appreciate the videos you post. Polished my first semi last weekend.🙌🏽came out great and wouldn’t have been able to do it without you👍🏽
Joe I have a 1965 Fire Truck decades past time to shine. Is the metal your shining made of aluminum or steel diamond plate? What is your combination are you using?
You have to have more done then I do. It has taken a long time to do anything I Do. Like now I'm having to resize the holes on the pump control panel since the factory didn't do it the first time
I’m using same product and far as I can tell same method, my question is I’ll get black immediately and pain in the but to get off. The black happens before I get the polished effect.
Hey Evan, great channel and work! I'm a Merchant Mariner. Our Engine Room is outfitted with Alluminum Diamond Plate decks. The crew wants to polish out our deck, nothing crazy for show. Can you recommend a set up for us? Polisher, Wheels.& Polish? Keep up the great work!
What style buffer pad is this? I'm a Maritime Captain and our diamond deck plates are in serious need of TLC. We have wool polishing bonnets but they don't seem tough enough for the job we have ahead.
We use airway pads from goshineon.com. If your diamond plate is really rough start with the red buff and brown rouge. Then hit it with your wool bonnet with some time2shine aluminum polish. Then hit it with the orange buff and brown rouge. Then your wool bonnet and t2s aluminum polish again. Repeat the heavy steps as many times as necessary. Then switch to a white buff with green rouge to finish it up when it has a great shine.
Great job! Even better was the quick and easy polishing. Waste no time. My work van has heavy oxidized aluminum wheels about 9 yrs old. Was contemplating replacing with new aluminum wheels. Much easier to replace however it will cost about 1k to replace. Will this method work on aluminum wheels!
This process does work on aluminum wheels also but check out my how to polish wheel videos for a better process. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel.
How much do you charge for the face of that box. Because I did a box 4 times that size in about 45 min. And charged 130$ how can you not make any money on a 5 min job??
You are an icon in the truck game Evan, about time for you to step off, enjoy life and let your crew handle things.
Appreciate that brother. Thank you for watching.
Wow
When I was driving for an oil company with lots of polish I used to do this by hand
What you did in 2 minutes took me an hour
I've had 24 years of practice. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I don’t know how you polish the edge of the battery box without the polisher getting jerked out of your hand.
You have to have your buffer wheel turning downward at the bottom. If not, it will hang on the edge
Thank you! I always struggle with diamond plate.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the upload! Our fire truck is due for a Time 2 Shine.
Far from perfect…Perfect from far. Keep ‘em comin Evan!

Why after I polish, I use a terry cloth and it scratches the aluminum??

I read your mind lol. Hope this is helpful. Thank you.
Do you ever acid wash before polishing?
No. I avoid using acid.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing so how do you clean dirty diamond plate before you polish it?
Cheaper to go to ace and just get a diamond panel if that’s what you like an bolt onto box or slap a chrome smooth panel
Cheaper doesn’t always mean better. Your idea is what’s called ‘ghetto’.
To each their own I guess. Thank you for stopping by to watch and taking the time to comment.
You don't have the buff at your store. Where can I get them?
We have them at goshineon.com

Maybe next time. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment on the video.
