It's uncanny how the Astros are never out of an at-bat with two outs on the board. Throughout the season we've seen or heard stats showing their penchant for scoring runs with two outs. Situational hitting, coming back to having that plate discipline. Big props to the rookies Hensley and Pena for hanging in there during those tough at-bats against some great pitchers. And what more can you say about Air Yordan? It's great to see him absolutely smashing again. After a difficult August and September, the young man is clutch bringing home a W for the Astros. This was a very unVerlander-like outing for the future HOFer. I think that layover after the regular season ended had its effect on him. He'll be money during his next start though. Well done, lads. Alvarez just may be the grim reaper for the Mariners in this series. Mariner fan here, but talk about awesome. Alvarez is a beast and a remarkable one at that. The Astros truly play like a very well coached team, especially when you consider that their starting pitcher in Game 1 needed to jump in someone's pocket that would pick up the slack and win this one. Great game, Houston.
No one is talking about it, so I will. That Crawford home run was an absolutely majestic bomb. Over 500 at bats and only 6 home runs in the regular season, but unloads a mammoth shot in the part of the season where every home run is huge. Def overshadowed by Yordans walk off, but still an impressive shot from a guy with virtually no pop in his bat. Also, as an Orioles fan, I’m rooting for the astros because you guys took my favorite player, Boom Boom. I love that Mancini is in the post season now, I just hope he gets in on the fun. That Pena defensive stop, into the double play at the bottom of the 2nd inning was, to me, the play of the game. I just laughed at how difficult that was. Ball was completely behind him when he got to it, still made the off-balance 360 spin throw in time to Altuve. Verlander escaped probably another run or two because of that.
I wasn't a Dodgers fan when Kirk Gibson slammed a HR against Dennis Eckersley, but I definitely loved the moment. You don't need to be an Astros fan to love this monstrous walk-off HR by Yordan Álvarez. It was an awesome moment and obviously great for baseball!

This is true. The Mariners' bullpen gave up 5 runs in this game. And they also gave up 5 runs in the last wild card game they played against the Blue Jays. That's 10 runs in 2 games COMBINED. The Mariners were not going to win with that type of bullpen. They weren't able to close games out. Just for perspective, the Astros' bullpen gave up 3 runs in the ENTIRE postseason! You tell me if the gap between these two teams is closing. I don't think so!
Aw man…I wanted to see the bullpen celebrating after the walk off…I can’t find it anywhere anymore. Also I love how the radio announcer is out of breath from screaming- amazing.!

Two very good teams slugging it out. What would have been a Seattle win, the Astros (do you dare count them out?) snatched victory from possible defeat. Thanks to Mr. Alvarez.

Talk about déjà vu. I was at the Jays game when the Mariners came back from 8-1. Tonight the Mariners ended up blowing what appeared to be a ‘safe lead’!
The duo of Robert Ford, he called the Yordan homer, and Steve Sparks ( one of the sharpest wits behind a mic in the game today ) are my AM airwaves voice of the Astros for the entire season; they elevate the experience of a game 10 fold.
There was a video on TH-cam after the 2019 pennant-winning walkoff HR by Altuve of responses to the event. (The video has since been removed.) One of the segments in the video was the view behind Astros announcer Robert Ford as he was making the call. He was actually jumping up and down as he was screaming "See ya later! See ya later!" as the ball sailed over the wall. :)
Greg Brown of the Pirates definitely leads the league in enthusiasm... you'd be amazed how ecstatic he gets for a walk-off victory when the team is 20 games below .500. I'm glad the Astros got good right around the time the Pirates started stinking again.
As a Mariners fan, when I saw that close up of Yordan just staring at Robbie before he pitched it him, it was truly the scariest look I’ve ever seen. I was certain that at bat wasn’t going to go well lol

I don't think so!
the dejected look on the mariner dude fan next to the kid at the end is priceless!
To the Mariners fan who asked me how I was liking Game 1 so far with a smirk on his face, I loved it. Thanks for asking.
Stop it, omg, stop cappin, sounds stupid capping, totally bs
Hilarious, bro. :)
Thank you dodgers for giving us yordan. Also, julio is a beast... ms have a squad. This will not be easy
Agree
I know we got Bagwell for Larry Anderson and then Yordan for Fields. The Dodgers don't make many personelle mistakes but this was a big one.
Aw man…I wanted to see the bullpen celebrating after the walk off…I can’t find it anywhere anymore.
Also I love how the radio announcer is out of breath from screaming- amazing.!
This was a really good game to watch. I thought Seattle lit up verlander and we’re going to get the win. I love baseball anything can happen. Good game guys and better luck to the Red Sox next year
Got to LOVE some post season baseball! These guys aren't holding back or showing burnout one bit!! LETS GO ASTROS!!
I thought Astros would dominate in Game 1 but boy was I wrong Mariners showing they are a real threat this will be a good series for sure
How good can a series sweep be?
I think all you saw was lag from a 6 day layoff. The Astros are the MUCH better team
Nope , Mariners are done! There's no coming back from this stunner , your WILD CARD / ALDS momentum has STOPPED , Altuve 0 for 4 , Verlander pitched his worst game of the season and you still couldn't win! Go Astros 🧡
Gut 👊 they not coming back sweep
What more dominace do you need coming from a 7 to 3 lead .
Just by the look of the swing he made… my God.
one month later: never forget seattLe scored exactly two runs in the next 29 innings after leading 7-3 in the seventh inning against their division father
oh and he had a home run dong in the WS too
WHAT A GAME!!!
Two very good teams slugging it out. What would have been a Seattle win, the Astros (do you dare count them out?) snatched victory from possible defeat. Thanks to Mr. Alvarez.
Cuban talent always stands out on the playoff games 🇨🇺
🤫🤔
If you ever have chance to, go to a playoff game at Minute Maid. There is no experience like it. I was there for the 2017 run and my ears were ringing for days. I can only imagine what it was like for the walk off. We've got the best fans in baseball. Go Stros.
😂😂😂no you dont. Astros fans are right up there with la and philly fans as the trashiest in sports. Btw, your ears were ringing from the trashcans being banged on.
@@johnwayne9828 wrong...I'm an Astros fan and that's just a bold faced lie you told
@@anthonymosley3210 compelling argument there😂😂
Gosh, you could see Astros fans praying and weeping as the game slipped away; but prayers were answered and Alvarez hit that ball!
Incredible, stunning. What a game
Let’s go Astros 🇨🇺🟠🔵
Talk about déjà vu. I was at the Jays game when the Mariners came back from 8-1. Tonight the Mariners ended up blowing what appeared to be a ‘safe lead’!
A four run lead at Minute Maid never feels safe, especially when Sewald and Ray were among the guys the Jays trashed in game 2.
Even with Verlander's Max Scherzer impersonation The Stros bat's came alive to get us the win!
Wish all commentators had the enthusiasm as the guy in 9:08 had 😂
Yessir
The duo of Robert Ford, he called the Yordan homer, and Steve Sparks ( one of the sharpest wits behind a mic in the game today ) are my AM airwaves voice of the Astros for the entire season; they elevate the experience of a game 10 fold.
Astros radio call. They're a _little_ homerish...
There was a video on TH-cam after the 2019 pennant-winning walkoff HR by Altuve of responses to the event. (The video has since been removed.)
One of the segments in the video was the view behind Astros announcer Robert Ford as he was making the call.
WE BUILT DIFFERENT IN HOUSTON🔥😤
Rockets, Dynamo, and Texans are very dog water, the price to pay for some good baseball.
Chills. Literally chills. Go Stros!!!!
Astros are built for October 🔥🔥🔥
Huuuuu 🤟🏼
Scott Servais putting Robby ray in as a relief pitcher with yordan Alvarez acting as the winning run at the plate has to be one of the dumbest moves I’ve ever seen a manager make
I feel like this game solidified the Astros winning the world series
Awesome comeback by the Astros!!
8:54 Alvarez stare at the great pitcher. He knows, everything is in his shoulders after his playmates gave everything. 8:56 , 8:57 Hispanic kissed the Rosary, and made a pray, "Our Father" closed his eyes continuing praying. 9:05 History........
That’s why I say, IT’S NOT OVER UNTIL IT’S OVER!!!
This is what the post season is about!!! Time for another "Astros upset all other baseball fans"
Being the bad guy (Astros fan) in this case is fun.
Still glad i missed work to go to the game yesterday afternoon lmao!
Goosebump Game!!!
No lie, i thought we were done but man Alvarez was a hero in this game! Just wow. Astros baby!!!🤘🏼
7:38 they did him so dirty man 😂
I just saw that Alvarez home run ball fly over my house...geez
As a Jays fan, this soothes my soul, if only a little.
You should read about the Astros' 2017-present cheating scandal sometime.
@@blahblahblahblahblah9920 its not to present bozo
@@blahblahblahblahblah9920 🤡
@Logan Court, The Astros dedicated this game to the Jays! I’m sure you appreciate their kind gesture!
Did the sweep made u happier 😁
Blue jays choke..
Mariners: hold our beer
Woh 😮 what an amazing game! I'm not a fan of either team but as a Reds fan I sorta like to see the Mariners progress after the hit trade but the Astros are certainly a scary team that's for sure!
One of the hardest hit balls I have seen in my entire life.....
As soon as I heard the sound of that ball being smashed by the bat I knew it was a homerun! No doubt whatsoever!
Insane game
WHAT A GAME. Playoff baseball is the best 💯
Great upload. Being a Stros' fan since the 70's, I have been saying they needed a stud. They hadn't had one since JR Richard. Yordan in the house!!!
Bro, what? Since JR Richard?? We literally have had two HOF second baseman not to mention many others HOF’ers since JR
Forgot about altuve and bregman is a stud as well Kyle tucker to
Were you asleep for the whole Biggio/Bagwell era?
THANK YOU, Mr. Alvarez! Been waiting since October 2005 to get that Pujos party pooper ALCS, Minute Maid game 6, home run out of my head…
