This women is brilliant. I love when she plays 4 hands with her husband, Paolo Alderigi.
i must say, this really entertained me
Paul. Another brilliant transcription. Many many thanks for your talent. Have already purchased . Regards
Thanks for your comment 🙂
This is her incredible mastery of Joplin's ragtime piece transitioned to stride piano. I miss the 'old' days of Miss Trick's virtuosic piano solos.. 4 hands is okay but I enjoyed her unique style and skills when she played her solo repertoire in the years before the duets. The transcription is amazing, tk u !!
@surfinia2 Well, in the "old days," Stephanie was just playing other people's virtuosic transcriptions pretty much note for note, which is fine. But it's nice to see she's starting to do her own arrangements.
@@tomgiles1484 well, it's just my opinion, others may agree or not, and btw this performance was her own version of the ragtime piece, it was not just transcriptions.
@@surfinia2 Right. I never claimed that this was just a transcription. I actually stated that I thought it was great that she's doing her own arrangements now.
Thank you so much! At last I know why she sounds so good. You have to be extraterrestrial precise.
For those who are wondering, the original video is on the Keller's channel "Ragtime Press". The piano was a Samick unfortunately, a shame it wasn't a better piano because this arrangement is brilliant!
Thanks Paul for transcribing this!
Amazing playing and thank you for the transcription! I quit playing the piano but is still fun to watch the notes! Thank you!
Love the arrangement!
What a banger!
Amazing!
❤ this!
this is such a transcription!! bravo!! a real challenge could be MTT's "You Come Here Often?" played by Yuja Wang, maybe the encore version.
Really cool and fun stuff!
Just a thing I noticed: on bar 22, the last set of RH arpeggios don't actually have a D in them.
I'm 200% sure these D's are played.
The execution is not perfect so at real speed you have the impression that these notes are not being played.
But if you slow down the recording you will hear these notes (and we also see it in the video)
Gosh you're right! It's incredibly faint but they are here. I stand corrected.
I would love to see you transcribe Stephanie's performance of Suddenly to a score!
Hi Paul - seeing you asked for suggestions Stephanie Trick's Thou Swell sounds almost impossible but similar to your two previous Stephanie's standards
Wow! Amazing work. I am a very big enthusiast of classical music. But when I stumble upon songs like this. It's transcendental! I love it ♡(> ਊ

Holy smokes, if a sight reader saw this, they would find another instrument. Surely when Stephanie arranged this, she started playing a straight version of this and then added to it, yes? I wonder if she ever gets to the point where she goes back to the written music after she nails this down. Anyone?
This sheet music was a transcription created after the fact
@@filmscorevideosits not that advanced tbh
@Gershwin48 Try sightreading one of Chopin's ballades or scherzi. Or a Cziffra transcription. Or pretty much anything by Liszt. 😄
You should do Brian Holland's 5th Avenue Breakdown!
Has shades of Johnny Costa to me.
Wahnsinn
Just the chord notes are insane, Joplin remains underappreciated
Straight up yoshis island
Why at one point this sounds like the Mr. Rogers theme to me?
Some similarity in style to that of the late great Johnny Costa, who played the Mr. Rogers theme song more than anyone else?
But why?
Stride inspired in Fats Waller style
Very Fats Waller!!
The trick to handling complex looking music:
1. Look at what key it's in.
2. Look at the rhythm suggestions.
3. Look at the chords.
Play it through a few times with just that info. Then, just play with it. :)
Better yet, listen to a recording or watch a video with the piece. :)
If you got your head around it, don't worry about what's written, just play (with) it. :)
That's Jazz. :)
2:42-3:00 ❤🔥
reminds me of monk 0:41
Ритм не всегда соответствует.
This is well played, and well transcribed. However, The Entertainer is a Ragtime. Ragtime, by definition is to be played completely straight. Swing and Ragtime are, while similar, mutually exclusive playing styles.
It's stride piano, not ragtime
As was stated above, this is stride, and also while uncommon some rags were swung towards the very end of ragtime before it completely gave way to stride.
This is clearly an arrangement and not the original, so who cares if it swings or not. Some people really lack imagination.
Why even bother being so technical about this soulful piece of art?
Ragtime should be played how the performer wants to play it, many rags have been performed swung and with stride elements and still been considered rags even by Joplin himself.
Come rovinare un ragtime snaturandolo nel ritmo.
I'm not sure if I'm mad at it or mad about it. I guess that I should look at it from a perspective that this is NOT THE ORIGINAL nor meant to replace the original, but a tribute or homage or inspiration to the original? This is definitely NOT my favorite.
feels more like a stride indeed
sure, but... who asked?
@@myt436 It's the comments section my guy.
While I understand this isn't how the piece was supposed to be played I'm usually on the side of just having fun with the music instead of rigorously sticking to the original.
Youre boring
Потряс!
