I'm fascinated by mini diy furnitures and I came across this video. Even though I haven't tried making one, I'm sure it'll be very useful for me in the future. You did some Fabolous work 👍
These are adorable I need to try and make these. Another great video!!! I was reading in the comments that you use a balsa/birch wood. Could I ask where you buy your wood is it online? I only see balsa wood here locally and it does not look as strong as the wood you are using. Haha a snail for the grand reveal today.
I order my online, I'm from Poland and I order it from allegro.pl but I'm sure you can find something on amazon or aliexpress. I sometimes double up my balsa sheets if they seem to fragile.
I use balsa wood and cut it with an exacto knife and other kinds of wood like chopsticks - I either use a saw or an exacto knife to cut them, sometimes an angle cutter like mitre shears as well!
here's how to change 1/20 scale into 1/24: 1/20 means it's 20 times smaller than in reality. So for example if my measurement is 10 cm, it means in reality it is 10 cm * 20 = 200 cm. To change it into 1/24 scale, you divide the real size measurement by 24, so in the example: 200 cm / 24 = 8,33 cm. To change into inches you just multiply the final measurement by 0,39 :) but I will give you the measurements for 1/24 scale from minute 0:12 of the tutorial: - seat: 1,66 cm * 1,66 cm; - length of legs: 1,75 cm; - total height, legs included: 4,16 cm + 0,4 cm (the decorative part)
