- The search continues! We recently moved to #Singapore with our 2.5 year old son, George during COVID-19. We have 2 weeks in a serviced apartment to find the perfect family home within our budget. Our search criteria is a 2 bed, balcony, no less than 800sq ft and a 10 minute walk from an MRT and/or bus and within half an hour commute of my School. We have a budget of $3.5k per month.

Thank you! We are over the moon to have found somewhere to call home. We have been living out of suitcases for almost a year now, having committed to leaving the UK during lockdown. It has been stressful and at times difficult. Now we have a home, we can start to embrace Singapore and make the island our home ❤️🇸🇬👨👩👦
When my husband and I moved to SG we signed contract without viewing too. We ended up moving to another room in the same building after our 2-year contract finished. Wish you best of luck and enjoy SG.

I stay at Pasir Panjang area where Treasure Place is. Good choice, love that area! If I recall correctly, Treasure Place has a playground for kids. It is also near the National University and National University Hospital, possibly 5 to 10 min drive. The area is not densely populated with people which is great. Treasure Place does not have too many units. You wouldn’t want to stay in a condominium with too many households as well. The Pasir Panjang MRT station is probably 10 to 15 min walk from where you are staying. The nearest supermarket is Exccellente (basedment of Bijou condominium) opposite the MRT station. It’s not crowded at all. The area is quite safe. There is the Kent Ridge and Labrador Park walking trail nearby you will enjoy. You will find out more…:)
That’s awesome. I really like the quiet, leafy field of the area. Nice and quiet and away from any main road. So safe for children. We’ve had a look at some of the childcare in the area also, and we are happy with the one that we have found and are trialling for George now. Any must see areas or food places that we should visit?

My advice, look at Bayshore Park and Marina Mandarin on East Coast. Oldest condos but spacious living.

From Mandarin Gardens it became Mumbai Gardens as they called it couple of years ago.
The older condos are bigger but with children, it's better to take ground floor or higher floors with window grills. The apartment you have chosen is a good deal & cheaper than one brit family who paid higher but smaller apartment.
Yes! That was what we found. We hunted for a ground floor but after viewing 2 realised that we might have to go a little higher and invest in a grill. Which we have done now 👍🏼 with Covid and lockdowns, we want outdoor space. Thanks for watching and sharing your local knowledge 😊❤️

Hi, How did you find the agent you used to find your apartment? I need one, but not sure how to get started.
Hi! Thanks for watching - we were recommended the agent through a friend of a friend. If you have not arrived in SG yet, I would recommend asking the tenants or agents of any properties you are browsing (property guru is a good start) and asking them. It is very common to have more than one agent working for you at the same time. They tend to be experts in specific areas or condos etc. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions :)

Hey Gemma, why dont you check out Marina One? Central, new and swanky though with higher prices. The peace and quiet is actually good with cases surging across SG currently.
Also remember that the rainy season here is equivalent to tropical storms in the west. Impossible to get taxis then, so its ideal to be located near MRT stations with close covered access.
