I wasn't raised to be a Christian and had a hard life even when I was a kid but had his hand on me and fishing with my Grandpa was awesome. I didn't have many friends being girl that liked fishing and reading. On the boat I could do both. Thanks for your beautiful music .
My grandpaw had an old Jon boat, when I was little. He offered once to take me but I was too scared of that river to go. For the next years he got sick had never got to go fishing with me in that boat. He passed away 1 year ago life's been terrible without him, but that boat motor is what keeps me going, it just brings back all the old memories. Love them while you can.
My deepest condolences. I'm 54 and growing up I had my Gramas. Both of my Grandpa's passed long before I was born. My Pops dad died of injuries sustained in the Korean War aka The Forgotten War. Itv was many years before his body was state side. He left my Nana with 7 little mouths to feed. Although I never met him, he will always be my hero. So I hope that every time you go out in that boat, that you feel the presence of yours, with you. Blessings and good health from the TN Smokies 🕉
Damn… my dad died Christmas Eve 2022 from lung cancer and I took his old boat and motor that he and I used for decades to fish. It was a dark green, he used to call it “The Pickle” so I took the boat and redid the flooring and carpets and re painted it with “The Pickle” on the side and I swear the fish get nailed in this thing
That's awesome man. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm currently in the middle of losing my dad also to lung cancer. He's not gone yet thank God.. but it's getting rough. I hope I can do something cool like this to remember my dad one day. ❤RIP to your dad.
@@ajastokes4760 I’m so sorry to hear that… if there’s anything Iv learned from losing my dad, it’s that everything really will be okay. I always dreaded the “phone call” and always wondered and tried to prepare for the news and how I would react. The sun will truly rise in the morning and you will have beautiful sunsets, even if it does seem like an emptier world, you will be okay! Take care of the ones you love and always tell them you love em… they won’t be here forever. Thanks for your comment and I know we’re strangers but I really will hope for the best for your father and your family.
This song struck so many memories of my paw paw taking me fishing, I’m a grown man crying because of the memories that was unlocked, if I could only have one more fishing trip I’d be happy.
That exact thing happened to me the first 10 seconds of listening…couldn’t help the damn tears and chills. Memories flooded my head and my heart grew but broke all at the same time. I remembered the memories I have and also the times I wasn’t there and feel I should have been. It reminded me it’s beautiful to be alive and take the days for those who cannot be here anymore.
Wow!!! Running throw lines and hoop nets on the river with Paw Paw. Every trip I would hear "Are you having fun grandson?" I'd smile and say " Yes Sir." I'm 46 now and have a grandson myself. I'm looking forward to days on the river with my little buddy.
i found myself crying and hugging my old rusty tackle box that me and my granpa painted together when i was little.. he taught me how to fish and boat and i miss him so much since '09 when cancer took him from us. I cry here, wishing my other grandfather was closer so I could see him again. Family is everything, but I still can't get myself to forgive my Father. I hope I can come around to letting shit go before it is his time and all I have left are memories and what if's.
My papaw and I used to take his old John boat out on our pound and we would always drink a Coca-Cola talk laugh and he would teach me life lessons and the Bible him and my granny raised me since I was 3weeks old God rest his soul I miss that man he was my daddy pretty much since my dad was never round so this song hits hard I'm sitting here crying brother wow this brings up memories I haven't thought of in years thank you Jay I know what I need to do now thank you for bringing me home I been lost for to long
I’m dedicating this song to Tyler Bradley Dupuis ❤ who recently passed away February 12, 2024 (born April 3, 1990)! Tyler loved country music, and fishing, but most of all loved his Grandpa more than life itself, and always talked about how he missed him, going fishing with him, and had hung his grandpa’s favorite Fishing Lure above his entrance door like it was his Good Luck Charm! Tyler was the man I loved dearly, who had a hard outward appearance, but underneath that exterior, he was loyal, sweet, honest and kind, was a protector and defender, loved with his whole heart and he let you know it! Ty, I will forever Love you, holding our memories deep in my heart! You were like no other! Sending XO’s to Heaven for you 🥰💋💕
Aww, sweet. Mine was wild and tough but very affectionate behind closed doors too, born April 4th and passed on August 21st '97, age 41. His heart broke from the world being so harsh. All he kept saying was it was eff'd down here and he wanted to "go home". Then one morning he said "Babe, I just dreamt of myself in my own coffin. Mom and Clarence are coming to get me." After 20 years in his half-Cherokee family, I knew he wasn't lying. I came home from work that night and found him... in the shower, with the cats screaming bloody murder. It gets better. But you'll never forget. ❤️🩹
One of the most beautiful heartfelt songs I've ever heard in my life. I'm 40 if that matters. I miss you Papa....SO much....You were my first best friend man.....Taught me so much....MIss you so fucking much
Thank God for Paw-paw's If you still have your Paw-paw or Grand-daddy, or Grandpa, or Pop-pa? Take from a Man who doesn't, you will wish you spent more time with them when there gone, why not do something about it while you still can. #JayWebb Young Man, I never heard of you before I heard this song, but i believe we're all going to be hearing a lot more from you down there road. Keep up the good work young man.
Lost my dad almost 3 years ago and this song hits home. From time spent over seas in wars and being my hero growing up fishing with him. God I miss that man, my dad, my hero...
Great song. As an old man now, I have so many memories of fishing with grandad, my dad and then my 11 year older brother. All are long gone now, but the memories live on. Those were simpler and calmer days, and I too would love to have a few back now.
My grandfather wasn't a fisherman. He was a scrapper. His boat was a 1989 f450 stakebody. His fishing pole was a Victor propane torch. The junkyard was my lake. This brought me back to the best years of my life. Thank you.
I'd do anything to go back in time to see my grandparents even just for a second or two. I can sure use their simple words of encouragement right now to help me push through the more difficult days/times
Didn't go with my Nonno fishing but with my Dad an old sicilian man and I absolutely learned everything about business and life while with him fishing 🙏
Thank you so much for this great country song waking up this morning. I always think of my papa and today I found this song for the first time and it hit hard. Oh I miss him. Love you Papa RIP.
papa's cottage in delta ontario..... where we recently spread my dads ashes.... rip papa.. rip dad... enjoy the great gig in the sky and give papa a hug for me...
This makes me laugh thinking of my wonderful Father. He passed away Christmas Eve 2006. He was my best friend, fiercely protective of me and my daughters even though he was a paraplegic and could always tell if I needed his shoulder to cry on or his goofiness to make me laugh. I miss still so much in everything I do and I do hope Heaven exists so that he is up there with my Mother, watching and waiting for me to come see them both. (My Mother died suddenly when I was 3months old). Anyway, this song definitely resonates well and I can picture this guy hitting it big. Great voice, nice looking and songs that can touch hearts and minds. He's the total rising star package. 🎶🐦🇺🇸
THANK YOU!!! PAW PAW ,DEDDY,MOMA,MY LITTLE BROTHER&ME. FISH ALL DAY, AT NIGHT WE SET OUT HOOKS. ON CUT POLES, BUSHES, TROTLINES. LOST PAWPAW 24 YRS. AGO. I THAN GOD FOR THEM IN MY LIFE & FOR MY SONS EDUCATION IN LIFE WITH A FISHING POLE IN HIS HAND.

RIP RB. Only loved 3 men in my life, this guy RB was a real one. I miss him and his boat and our many fishing trips every day. Thanks RB, this song was made for him. Thanks Jay. 👋
I went fishing only once w my grandpa when I was about 5 or 6… he ended up dying a day before my 7th birthday. Seeing how you guys love & cherish those memories makes me wish I could’ve done it a lot more. This song makes me think that you guys learned a lot more than how to fish your paw paws boat.🤍

Pawpaw was a legend in my eyes. Best man ever. I have him tattooed on me that’s how much he meant to me. He had some major health issues happen and he’s visited me from heaven in my dreams and I know he is always watching me. Pawpaw was my hero. I love you pawpaw!
Will never forget how my grandpa let me drive his boat in pouring rain because that was the only time we had the chance we had... and thankful and grateful for this song bringing that memory back
