    loving this stuff. Really is an eye opener on what lines to look for. I don't think i would spot many (errr any) of those unless by accident or just following what looks obvious. Can't wait to take some of those thoughts out on the trail.

  • @somatamusic
    @somatamusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video Jesse- this is something I am often struggle with. I hear "inside line is faster" and then also hear "rounding out the corners gives you faster exit speed" both pieces of advice seem to be at odds with each other, however I suppose the best solution is "it depends on the situation". The example at 12:42 is great!

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! It really does matter more about what is before and after the corner. I would say in general rounding out the corner is the best for overall riding, but for the fastest line it isn't always the best.

    Killer content! If I watch it at 50% that feels about the right speed . So I guess I am 40% Jesse , eh?
    It would be interesting to see a similar style video comparison but between you different bike setups. Ala slayer vs instinct or something like that . Maybe on two different trails - one each suiting a bike vs the other. Would hopefully show the differences. Not that you are taking suggestions haha

      40% me is all you want to be!

    Loving the videos so far! Honestly, between you, Yoann, and Remi, I'll probably end up having half of the Squamish trails memorized before even riding them haha.
    Random question: are you using the regular or the transition lens in your Smith glasses? If the transition lens, how do you like it? Cheers!

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha then you'll be ready to rally when you do get to ride them!
      They are the transition lens! I really like them. It's nice just taking one pair of glasses and having the sun protection when in the open areas and then clear, mud protection when in the woods and it's darker.

  • @hyzersoze

    A bit surprised that you did not take the Euro wide line into the corner at 3:22

    • @JesseMelamedMTB
      @JesseMelamedMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually did think about that one but it was too wide and going around the tree made it too hard to angle yourself into the corner. It wasn't supported enough to take that line with more speed than the main line.

    • @hyzersoze
      @hyzersoze 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JesseMelamedMTB Solid insight. I only wish you had made this video before last year's Squamish Enduro - this was the last stage on the short course! My results were underwhelming - but two flats on two stages can have that effect!

    Great video, every bike nerd loves the likes of it :)
    But I noticed you have the 38 up front, and I wonder, are you running the stock damper tune? If so, do you find you have enough high speed compression range to use?
