I got the Joyo Monomyth a couple months back. It's a Darkglass knockoff. I was extremely impressed by it. Made me reassess my views of the company. I'll probably buy more of their stuff in the future.
That warwick with emg sounds great.
Nice sounding pedal.
Hey guys ! Great vid as always !
If I may dare to suggest a thing when you test an effect pedal is to do an on/off display for each different settings so we can evaluate the influence of the pedal on the clean sound.
Thanks for everything !
Awesome demo 😎🤘🏻🎸 joyo makes such phenomenal pedals for the price and this bass distortion pedal sounds phenomenal. You guys should check out the monomyth preamp pedal next.
My new favorite pedal. Usually leave this on with a touch of gain. Takes off the sterile clean sound.
Great demo. I would be curious to try this pedal out. I bought a joyo zombie micro amp for my guitar and it sounds like an Engl fireball and it was only $300. Highly impressed with this company so far.
I have to like for Frantic. That song is awesome
Love the sound of this pedal! Rage on the warwick, muah! Also, first time noticing Jayme Lewis on The Bass Channel!
Hey guys, how y'all doing?
Just a little ask to my favorite bass channel: would it be possible to include the dry sound as reference when you're testing pedals that change the clean sound (the likes of compressors and preamps, mostly)? If that was not to much hassle, would be very nice.
Thanks for the great work over the years!
Cheers!
Just want to add to this comment and say I'd like it if you lowered the volume of song track, or removed it completely. We don't need to hear the other instruments (except maybe the drums), as that makes it harder to hear what the pedal is actually doing. Otherwise great job! Keep it up!
Everyone's being too nice. I found the video annoying because of the lack of dry signal and the volume of backing tracks. I need to look at another video to hear what this pedal does because this video fails to demonstrate that.
@@josephmakowski9368 We appreciate your opinion - that said, it seems when we do more soloed tones the negative comments are about it being useless without the rest of the mix. Now, switching between dry and effected for each tone - That always sounds like a great idea, but gets dicey in the edit, when you total up the video and you've only got the pedal's sound showing for half the runtime. We try to showcase a range of each pedal's capabilities. Sounds like this one just didn't cut it for you.
This is the first time the MM emgs have sounded good. Should have done Bartolini MMs too.
I assume we can expect a monomyth review soon? I'm really liking these DG knockoffs, but in my opinion they don't quite capture the darkglass growl
is there a Joyo pedal that sound like a VMT?
hi what's the song before frantic, pls.
Cool pedal! but I would love to know more about the emg x on that iceman, did you have to mode something? di you changed the preamp?
35TWX pickups
BTS preamp
No physical modifications needed. Everything dropped right in.
@@TheBassChannel please do an A/B comparison some day 🙏
We don’t have a lot of “A” with which to compare. There was an issue with the stock preamp that caused it to clip severely.
kind of reminds me of an ibanez pd7 combined with a darkglass pedal.
I only know they put the 35TWX pickups in there. Not sure about electronics
its a clon of a b3k
AMP the bass player has a comparison to the original Darkglass pedal on his channel. And it is close. First a fraction of the price you get 90% there was the conclusion.
Is this one supposed to be a copy of the Darkglass x pedal?
@@liamjenkins82 it’s a B3K clone. Not the X.
@@rolfj953 Ah yeah. Cheers. Do you know if anyone has made an x or x7 clone yet?
@@liamjenkins82 demonfx has an x clone. There are some demos on TH-cam about it I believe. Didn’t see any x7 clones.
I'm not sure how to tell what its doing without bypassed tones to compare to.
Think of a clean bass tone, then compare it to these
😂
It's distorting the clean tone 😅
@@jacobdomangue7088I find it kind of challenging to imagine the clean tone of several different instruments with several different pickup types with unknown tone / preamp settings going into an amp with unknown voicing, but maybe I'm in the minority.
@@sparella same here.
What's the bass in 1:10?
The gibson les paul jr
I love Joyo pedals! I have a few of them, and they sound great. I can definitely tell this one was named by a dude, though. 😂😂😂
Man you guys stick emgs in everything lol
This is true - the boss is a huge EMG fan and while they don't pay us to endorse them, he loves getting new pickups from them to try or to mod basses with.
It sounds muddy.
