      It also has a longer draw distance when aiming the bow horizontally. If your knuckles face downward on the draw hand during horizontal aiming, your range of motion is much more limited.

  • @mli3083
    @mli3083 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    The reason he draws the bow like that is because he's holding it perpendicular to his body, whereas in other games he holds it parallel. If you try and make the drawing motion yourself, you'll realize it's much easier to draw palm facing "out" from this position.

In real life the bows strength would be significantly less so it doesnt cause great strain on the archer but seeing how strong link is, it really shouldnt be a problem for him. About the bow, I always thought it was a thing that had to do with the Shrine of Resurrection. I feel as if not only he lost his memory, but feel as if it reverted his fighting instincts back to their primitive state. That could very well be why he holds the bow that way. Not only that but with the his other weapons, I feel as if they have a bit more of a primitive nature behind each of his movements. Just a thought :^)

As I said, I posted a really long comment about this at the community post, so go there to see the entire theory.

    The notes on the Sanctum are positioned in a way that we can’t really tell if it’s Zelda's Lullaby or the Ballad of the Goddess. Both songs are basically the same, but backwards versions of each other. Both the first and second notes seem to be on the same line so it could be either one. I guess that’s intentional, but the whole design is actually the same one seen in the Gate of Time from Skyward Sword so it would make more sense for it to reference the song in that game.

    I don't remember where it was, but I remember watching a video that talked about different ways to draw a bow. The one Link is using has several disadvantages, but it was used at times because you can fire faster using that method. The normal method has you nocking the arrow on the left side of the boys and then shifting your hand around to the right. This method skips that step in exchange for being a bit more awkward.

    The absence of emeralds in Breath of the Wild intrigued me from the get-go. When I came across sapphires and rubys I was sure I would find some emeralds too because, you know, that’s the holy trinity of precious stones in Zelda lore. My point is: WHAT HAVE THE ZONAI DONE WITH ALL THE EMERALDS?

    • @acamera367
      @acamera367 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is actually a very good question, the distinct lack of emeralds is surprising, we have
      Ruby - Goron
      Zora - Sapphire
      Topaz - Gerudo?
      Luminous - Zonai
      Opal - Rito
      Amber - that one blade of grass near death mountain.
      Diamond - Hylian
      Emerald would fit koroks of course but where does Amber actually go? Shiekah?

    • @mrlborges
      @mrlborges 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@acamera367 never thought about the stones being connect to each race, besides the obvious ones (ruby, sapphire and emerald). I always imagined the Zonai are connected to the Deku Tree and the koroks in some way. The swirl of the Zonai reminds me of the Koriki emblem, something that weirdly I have heard a lot of people talk about. Plus the region they’ve supposedly lived is in the Faron province where the Kokiri Forest could’ve been based on the geography of Hyrule during Ocarina of Time.

    • @acamera367

      @@mrlborges huh, that's absolutely true actually, admittedly I think amethyst could be a safe inclusion for a sheikah gem but.. we never really saw any super important Amethyst.
      Now Luminous is a very strong possibility for Sheikah if it isn't More connected to Zonai. Since I believe each race has a gemstone they value much more than what one can sell it for.

    This isn’t something really lore wise but something I found funny and interesting. I just noticed it today by playing and everybody probably knows.
    But I was messing around with some bokoblins and a moblin with a meteor rod around some dry grassy area in Tabantha. Obviously I was setting the grass on fire trying to kill the enemies. But I noticed when the moblin was right in the middle of the fire and burning, it would literally jump into the air from both feet and try to land on some area that wasn’t on fire!
    Maybe it was just me who didn’t notice that till now.

    Interesting bit of info on the bow draw. It is a style of drawing a bow called the palm-out draw. Alot of competitive compound bow shooters draw this way. Another reason to use this draw style is if your using a left handed bow in your right hand, and as we all know link is left handed in most of the games. This might be a little reference to that. So maybe all the bows you find in game are left handed bows and he is having to compensate for that.
