Absolutely love Dubstar and this song….but the dark haired backup dancer and her disconnected upper and lower body movements steals the show every time I watch this video! She brings joy and a smile as I watch this video EVERY TIME! 👏👏👏 Dubstar and you go girl with those moves! 😍🔥
I was in the company of Dubstar at The Cluny, Newcastle on Wednesday night. Dubstar are back!!! Chris told me that new material will be released soon. Dubstar are real nice people and Sarah is stunning!!! She's prettier now than she was years ago!!! Pure stunner and very down to earth too!!! I cannot speak highly enough about these people!!
My father saw dubstar at Manchester student union, he attended the gig with his then girlfriend and her best friend who is Sarah Blackwoods cousin. Dad didn't get the music at the time, but he says looking back at it they were a great band.
I agree with you, The White Room had some amazing band's on including Manic's , Jamiroquai and Dubstar to name just a few. Later with Jools Holland is still a great show though and has survived well.
Thanks for the update! I had enjoyed some of Sarah's work with the band Client (particularly "Heartland", which I thought was a really solid album), but I'm looking forward to new Dubstar material.
Transmission in 89 was the best music tv show of all time, totally had its finger on the pulse and perfectly documented indie musics transition into acid house, the first episodes were fringes&guitars through spacemen3,sonic boom and loop into happy mondays, primal scream, stone roses into full on dance music,it was glorious. There's a fantastic interview with Bobby Gillespie doing the rounds on YT where he advocates debating police officers with bricks, brilliant.
A great band. Even now in 2024, I listen to their stuff and it is still excellent. Gotta say, it's kinda weird having "go-go" dancers (yep, I'm using that ancient phrase) dancing to a song about the rape of a pensioner. Surreal.
Fond memories of this show. I also got the 1st Dubstar CD with the subsequently withdrawn cover, that pink girl's purse that looked more like female genitalia.
I like to imagine the conversation prior to this taping went: "Sorry, your backup dancers cancelled, but we've got four audience members off their t!ts on Ecstasy; will that do?" Bless.
its criminal that such a brilliant pop band like dubstar are largely forgotten- their first album was superb
Agreed.

Their first Lp had such an impact and still brilliant in 2019

Just know that I truly appreciate you uploading this.

Class. Simply just Class.
Tunes!! I remember buying their amazing album after listening to Mark Radcliffe's late evening show on Radio 1 in the mid-nineties. #happytimes

Proper music TV! The 90s had this, plus Naked City, the Chart Show, the 80s had the Tube etc. Now?

I wish I could go back to the 90s and stay there.......

So much styling to the 60s...and even the 20s 30s and even 50s to a degree......Art Deco.....Modernist...Mad Add men all that .....
the 1 minute 28 second yt video ''George Carlin on our Similarities''
can you send me the mp3 or video of this live track? cheers!
She looks a bit like Little Boots ! !
Kind of in the same vein as Saint Etienne
Those dancers are awful.
Well, someone had to give all these stageschool dancers some kind of employment. TOTP had done away with Legs & Co....
