The first level was, I think, an entity limit trigger. Basically there are so many sprites off screen that the muncher can't load until you kill the koopa kid. But he miscalculated the range and it was keeping too much crap within the loaded area and not letting the muncher load. Thats my guess anyway
Does the helmet count as a sprite? Maybe the level creator never got into the subworld with a helmet. But then I guess it would break if you lost the helmet in the main world, so probably not.
Yes this is what I thought as well the concept is cool it’s just the game wasn’t really designed to do it. They did the best they could given the system in place.
@@remtmy Well Ryu got it to work a number of times, I have no clue why it worked sometimes but not others. Maybe something to do with the creator's specific playstyle that it continued to work. It felt incompetent, not malicious
Hey, creator of the last level here. This was a level I created a few years ago and it was public for a little short while. It was basically an idea for me to throw every bad idea into one level like enemy spam, hidden blocks, dev routes, and overall a confusing way to get through. I had a few streamers play it while it was up but then I privated the level for years. Long story short, I finally came back to Mario Maker after years of not playing and noticed I never made any changes to the level so it was still marked as cleared. So, I decided to upload it forgetting almost everything about it. It was fun to watch you play through it and rediscover what I had put in it (seriously, I had forgotten everything!)
21:19 In this room there's a comment that told you to jump with the right timing to block the incoming shell. So yeah, he meant for you to either block the enemies attack or die. I guess jumping in that position would set off an on/off switch via a thwomp or something, causing the canons to fall, which would block the incoming shell like a wall if timed correctly. Just like he didn't realize that you can just repeatedly enter the strong moves doors, he also probably didn't realize that you can just stay down below and enter the pipe before getting crushed.
Good thing that you outworked the level creator by finding the hidden block above, the hidden key, and the hidden power up. Level creator assumed no one would put in the work to investigate the sub world.
First level the creator did not play test their level. They made it to that point and skipped it the same way Ryu did. This is why dev exit are crappy. Because they didn't play test the entire level. It doesn't work.
I know the first level was jank and broken, and normally it wouldn't deserve a like, but that going over the top and discovering the "secret" area, with the funny music and coins and flag pole, it put a smile on my face, and THAT made that level deserve a like, imo.
Speaking of Paper Mario I really miss that playthrough, I really wanted to see you go through the whole game. One of the greatest games of all time imo.
I'm pretty sure the reason the subworld broke is that Bowser loads in from super far away, and he didn't account for it, and he didn't actually playtest the dang level.
there are bombs behind this wall, that will be detonated the moment he activates a p-switch. It was done in order to destroy the wall, but bomb's radius is larger than one square, so if you are hugging the wall in that moment - you get hit by the explosion
I wonder if the first level WANTED you to skip the fights, or realized the mechanism wasn't working in the subworld because the bomb-omb in the corner was behind breakable blocks in the subworld, and not the mainworld, until the end where you HAD to bomb the wall yourself.
Aren't the spikes at the end of that able to be turned off by the on/off switch with all the one ups which can be hit from coming up beneath the semisolid?
That first level is so awesome but so lame at the same time. Epic and unique boss fights, a secret hidden exit that takes some knowledge of the mechanics and a good eye to actually do, second world. The only issues it has is no checkpoint and the janknest of the level transition. There should be at least one checkpoint before going to the sub world and fix whatever the bomb issue was and it would be ine if the Best levels in the game
I wonder if when the level creator was making it there is somehow a difference from playing the level and testing the level in the editor, so they probably thought that it worked

Wondering how he uploaded the level if the whole level is broken. Almost feel intentional, he prob cheese'd his own level in order to upload it.

@@craigwelter5862 I am fairly sure the helmet does not count as a separate sprite when attached to Mario.
The scientifically worst level route was definitely a convulated dev exit.
More like the only exit.

scientifically the worst level starts at 22:05
Doing gods work
Surely there's a lesson in it that the pro gamer is never happier than when he gets to skip the video game.
Once it's work, it's work. :P
4:52 surprised this still hasn’t been timestamped

As a person who passed all my science classes back in high school I can confirm that level’s title is scientifically accurate, no fun to be had there.
As a person that got all 90 plus in high school science classes and SLEPT WITH THE SCIENCE TEACHER SENIOR YEAR!
I can also confirm: accurate.
Nah, not even close to being as bad as a lot of the torturous hot garbage 🗑️ Ryukahr has played.
I think the first level had that cheese intentionally. By it being a Zelda level it was a reward for "exploring"
Definitely. He collected something that was deliberately placed there.
The sub area didn’t work and had extra terrain not deleted. cheese intentionally is a ocsýmòron.
@@alysdexia '...had that "cheese" intentionally.'
@@SheonEver that’s not how to quote.

At 9:50 you can see a smile starting to form. That level is ridiculous.
I felt his pain. That moment was brutal. It reached out through the screen
That ending for the first level was crazy
And the sec one

Wouldn't hitting the red switch turn off the spike blocks at the exit making it beatable that way? 30:50
Just noticed the copter hat has three lights on the side of it. Once you use the copter you lose a light.
13:15 There it is. The level you used in the thumbnail of your second live stream on the third channel 2 weeks ago.
Are you okay bro?
Bro what how did you recognize that
Nice! He saves his recordings and releases them on weird timings
@@alistairalexander1369this comment is so simple yet so effectively funny

Yeah he’s missing out giving up on it. It only gets better as it goes along.
I think you were supposed to hit the P-Switch with one of Link's arrows from farther away so the bomb blast didn't get you.
Just watched my TH-cam recap and I’m in your top 0.1% of viewers and your my most watched TH-camr this year. Thanks Ryukahr for everything you do ❤
Those bullets were definitely intentional
Give Paper Mario one last chance, next star is my favorite
The moment from 11:00 on, when Ryu skipped the entire subworld.... that's why I keep coming back to these videos!
9:50😂
Ultimate Ryu Cheese fanfare!
Hey, fancy seeing you here! 😃

He said the bomb blast killed him off screen 12:00

I don't want to sound like a bot, but this was a blast to watch. So many great moments! Thank you Ryu!!
4:53 hehehe
4:52 Pause on that
Thanks!
Love to see scientific testing of just how bad level design can be.
Ryu is so good with Link bombs!
You just count for four orange ticks

Ironically the scientifically worst level is not even close to being as bad as the Hell Ryukahr has endured.

Over/Under 12, the number of times Ryu says "crazy" in this video. I'm taking the over.
That paper Mario level was the most confusing level I ever seen . And ryu has played some doozies
The last level, if you actually found all the random hidden shit without looking it up, that was impressive
9:29 - 9:30 - That “KOOPA JR.” literally used “THE FIRE BURNER” in a “STEALTH MOVE”?????
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
9:53 - and I love that “THE P SWITCH” was a “FOOL’S ERRAND” intentional or not……
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
10:50 - 11:38 - I have a feeling “THIS CREATOR” did this because “HIS SUB-WORLD” broke…….
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I playtested my recent level many times to ensure the entity limit has no issues, and so far so good with no problems
Some very strange levels... Great video!
That cheese was so delicious.
WOW that first level was a rollercoaster of emotions
The cheese was absolutely amazing.... class act!
14:41 “BREFAST!”
Does anyone know the name of the level editor site Ryu is looking at? Would love to have a look at it myself
Watching you play that first level was fantastic. It had a little bit of everything! It's like there's a party on my screen and everybody's invited
I think the developer of the first level intentionally added that cheese, no way they beat the sub area
no one is more proud of ryu, than ryu
That first level was amazing even as it broke down. The last level was diabolical.
The last level creator ruined their own day by making such a stage only for it to go unplayed by the Mario Master 😎
Ryu is scientifically the best mario maker player
10:08 😂🎉 when Ryu finds life-changing Cheese! 🎉😂
Cool. Always appreciate Ryu 🙏
First level cheese was top tier

First level: Why do the walls break (or the bombs explode) when the bosses are defeated? What is the trigger?
2/3 levels beautifully cheesed ❤
Ryu: The CHEESE HUNTER!
Always cool to see the viewer in action :)
Whoa holy cheese that was crazy on that first level! And then the second level wasn't bad either
maybe the level broke because you didnt kill the one chainchomp
The worst level...another one!
I checked the description to find Link, but he wasn't there . . . 😢
For the first level I think it's just the 2 chain chomps that cause the problem...
Checkpoint city a lovely city
What a genuinely horrendous level lmao
Blowing my way to the top 💀

That "worst" level kinda reminds me of the level "The Pinnacle of Level Design" in MM1. Watching GPB lose his mind on that was hilarious

There is no MM1.

How is he getting the level maps?
Detailed search categorized by decreasing clear rate and difficulty set to expert. Gives you uncleared expert levels
@ I’m not asking how he found the level. I’m asking how he found the map that he showed at the end. He’s shown maps in other videos too. Where are they coming from?
Oh yeah that’s on a site called Wizulus’s SMM2 Viewer, where you can input the level code to view its map
Can’t imagine getting off of work, just trying to unwind with some MM2, having to play either of these 💩’s. These levels were made with ill intent 🤭
