    This case is one of the rare instances where corporations and studios set aside their greed and manipulation and genuinely wanted to honor an actor, a man, in good taste.

    • @basedboi3956
      @basedboi3956 2 ปีที่แล้ว +465

      I think this is just one of the very rare cases where corporate interest happened to align with public interest. I mean, them handling Paul’s death in a tasteful and powerful manner helped catapult the film to $1.5B international sales. Corporations never do anything out of the kindness of their heart; they do things for the profit motive, because that’s the core purpose of a corporation- to profit. And in this case, the conclusion happened to be a positive one

    I always think about his daughter dealing with such a tragic loss of her father. I hope she's doing okay. Her name is Meadow, and she's been growing into a beautiful, respectful lady and I guarantee Paul Walker is so proud of her. I feel bad she has to deal with that level of grief in life, especially at her young age at the time. Apparently Vin Diesel walked her down the aisle for Paul when she got married a year ago or so. And, until the franchise came out, I didn't know anything about cars or the cast, in general, really. However, after watching the first movie, I was hooked - on cars and on Paul, himself. He was so handsome. Those beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair with a touch of curl to it. I feel like Wiz got all the credit for See You Again, when in reality it wasn’t for Charlie Puth, that song wouldn’t even exist. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good song, but Charlie deserves way more credit, and that’s why I believe this is one of the best videos I’ve seen too date that explains the origins of the track and the franchise of F&F.

    Paul deserves all the recognition on the world. And to be honest, he did get all the recognition. His death affected damn near the whole planet. I’m so glad that he is still being remembered by everyone to this day.
    And in terms of the song, I’m very glad it was made. Like others have commented, this is the one rare case where a celebrities death isn’t a cash grab. Everything about Paul after his death was an ode.

    I think I remember reading somewhere that Charlie wrote the song for the label but they wanted to give it to another artist to sing. He gave them an ultimatum that either he sang the vocals for the song or they couldn't have it. Then the film cast and crew also wanted Charlie on it so the studio agreed and the rest is history.
    I think it's a beautiful song for anyone who has lost someone important in their lives. But I think it would be awkward to play that at a wedding. The song is unmistakably connected to a death.

    I always cry when I watch Furious 7. The ending just hits me so hard. Paul Walker and Chadwick Boseman are the only two actors I can remember where I literally broke down in tears on the floor. And what makes it worse is that Paul was just starting to mend his relationship with his daughter, Meadow, when he passed... This song is such a wholesome tribute. I remember sobbing in the theater and feeling so embarrassed, but a few other people were crying too. We saw each other and laughed.

    The drive and song doesn't have the full impact if you watch it years later and someone tells you Paul died during filming. First time I watched it, was I think a couple days after I heard of Paul's passing. From the start of the beach scene to the end of the song, I couldn't stop crying. One of the best and most respectful movie endings in cinematic history.

    This was the first celebrity death that really affected me. I remember exactly where I was, even the exact spot where I was standing, when I opened my phone and read the news. I was in a skating rink near the DJ booth taking a breather, and I just stood there for a minute after reading it. The DJ who was a friend of mine asked me if I was alright and I showed him the news. Both of our moods instantly changed that night. When I went home I started looking at different stories, hoping to find it was a hoax as they weren't uncommon. Unfortunately, it was very much real. When Furious 7 came out, I went to see it opening night with a girl I was dating at the time, and that was the first time she ever saw me cry near the ending scene. And I'm not one to be emotional about things, especially in public. It still hurts when I realize he's not here anymore. The only other celebrity death that I know will impact me like Paul's will be Eminem's. He's been there with me through his music during all the ups and downs in my life

    Dude I still remember going to see F7 in theaters with my Cousin. He and I were very close, somewhat conparable to Brain and Dom in the movies, and we had been watching F&F since we were kids, both being really into cars. We built up our identities around the things we learned from this franchise, the meaning of family, a code of honor, what it meant to be strong. We were devestated when we learned of Pauls passing, it left a hole in us that, at least for me, has yet to heal. Watching the tribute at the end broke us both, we rarely cried around eachother at this point, being teens trying to keep up the "Boys don't cry" façade, but we just let the tears flow, joining in the standing ovation and hugging it out. It really feels like it was the end of an era, eventually my cousin and I drifted apart, the F&F movies stopped being good (IMO), the reality of growing up hit us. I'm just glad that it was an era I got to be a part of, one I go back and relive consistantly by watching the first 7 films. Even if I never met him Paul changed my life, and I wouldn't give it for the world.

One: i was maybe 9 years old when i forst saw Varsity Blues and saw Paul and thought 'hes beautiful' so I've had a crush on him since forever. Two: he died on my birthday so every year on my birthday i think about him for a few minutes and how he was the first man i ever thought of as beautiful or handsome

    I remember seeing 7 in theater. When they were doing the send off, the theatre was dead silent, and you could just hear sniffling everywhere. I was watching it with my cousin and he’s the type of guy that never shows emotion. I just hear him start choking up and whisper “That’s so sad….” The theatre was flooded that day. So amazing for everyone to be moved.

    I remembered going thru a 3 month training with 6 other people, all of us were obsessed with Fast and Furious, we went thru hate from other coworkers, delayed pay, a whole bunch of stuff lol but the trainer instilled in us that when we do get the job, we should always remain together, we created our own group chats to help each work better, we hung out after work, we eventually got to see Fast 7 and I remembered there was one girl in the group I made it very clear to everyone I have a mad crush on, and she was the most close to the ff characters... Bro... That last scene had the women sobbing, the boys with watery eyes. But when the song started... The girl I had a crush on was crushed, she bawled waterfalls of tears for a full two hours. Her best friend was so tired at one point she looked at me and said, come take your girlfriend! I had to calm her down. This song is crazy!
    Funny enough too when I was leaving the job, it was the song we used to say goodbye to each other. This is a modern song, much like Michael Jackson Thriller that will not be weakened or forgotten by time.
