gotta add another “me too!” to the folks that want to learn how to make something like that. I’ve never even heard of a “membrane clarinet” before, much less an extendable one.
That's a lot of creativity with that diaphragm instrument as well as all the other designs featured on this channel. Some of the sounds reminded me of the one's I made with membrane, quartz tubes and a simple thermoacoustic effect.
Though I do play the clarinet, I don't know much about instruments outside of what I play. I think what you did here was great and you should definitely continue with other instruments
Damn I been watching you true the years and that there must be one of the coolest home made flute I do a little of the same make shit out of everyday like stuff at home or find but u are on a other lvl then me but music it self has so much in it to do or start with but you my friend are one of those few who does it all make the instruments you play on and play them and make som good shit out of but I would love to see you make your version of a SITAR
What are you using for your membranes? Any tips around keeping the attached/in tune? I’ve tried various configurations, but have trouble maintaining the tuning/timbre. Awesome as always!
Hi Nicolas, are you also selling your amazing creations? I am amazed by your creativity and inventions. Would love to have clarinet like this yet I am not very efficient with tools.
You know, most hyper intelligent people are well known for making music where it never existed before. I would have to say Pythagorus was the father of this understanding. Yet that glass harmonica Benjamin Franklin made really hit it big.
I wish someone made chromatic clarinets with extension valves associated to the octave key, so as to tune the odd harmonic overblowing down to the nearest octave, and thus keep a sax fingering system
Ah yes, i've made the same thing but with 6m long pipes, producing a 13,5hz tone. The real challenge with those is resolving the intonation issues of the membrane
I thought it was bad to blow out your cheeks when playing instruments? Maybe it's irrelevant here or maybe the thing I saw was BS but I definitely remember watching a video describing how that can cause issues for trumpet players.
It is probably right, although several of my favorite trumpet players plays with big cheeks, for this one I use circular breathing, and the blowing feeling is close to the duduk from Armenia, inflated cheeks are the base of this technique!
Dubstep Clarinet. Never thought I would hear anything like this. But it's awesome:D
Moon Hooch (technically a subcontrabass, but still)
Thanks!
You can make dubstep with normal contrabass clarinets as well
My mans just made acoustic dubstep
It is the coolest homemade instrument I've ever seen.
Thanks a lot!

This one and many more are detailled in my ebook about PVC pipe instruments!
Your channel is one of the most inspiring, in that it doesn't get millions of views, but it reaches precisely the audience you are looking to reach.
The first extension tool me by surprise. So great!
Thanks!
I flipping love it. You need to make an actual song with all of the instruments you've made.
Thanks!
Awesome Super creative bro. ❤love it.. thanks for making this video & Sharing ❤..
Legit drop tuning on wind instruments. Cool!
Musicians get to have the most fun

Crazy awesome!
It sounds like really good videogame music from back in the day.
Bro that’s cool! It’s like a flute clarinet it sounds dubstep-

I especially love the lowest tones of the 2nd extension and how it changes the way it sounds when played

This is awesome bro 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻.
Ooo!!! Now there's one I'd like to see how you made.
This one and many more are detailled in my ebook about PVC pipe instruments!
Beautiful revolutionary instrument. Seems like you might be able to use a PVC on-off valve in there for octaves.
Wow that is so cool!
Thanks!
Cool

J'adore!

Yo, I need this!
This is mad scientist .

Please make a long track with this instrument :)
I did, with the alto version of this instrument! nicolasbras.bandcamp.com/track/drones
I was wondering if there’s a way extend to 4 bass 😂. Thanks love your creations. ❤
What are you using for your membranes? Any tips around keeping the attached/in tune? I’ve tried various configurations, but have trouble maintaining the tuning/timbre.
Awesome as always!
This is vinyle glove, my favorite membrane!
@@NicolasBras thanks! And are you just holding it in place with rubber bands? How do you get consistent sounds/pitch?
Yeah I’ve been struggling with this as well
Looks like he is clamping it between 2 pieces of PVC with a ring clamp?
Looks like an opportunity to make a bassoon, with the recurving section.
Bro U R a fuckin' genious!!!
Thanks a lot!
congratulations, you created a bassoon
Alright, time for a tutorial on how to make that!

That could be an idea!
3:49 sounds like a bass version of a bagpipe chanter.
Are you able to get enough airflow either by mouth or by hand bellows to get a bagpipe-like drone while you play the main pipe?
that one can only play one sound, but I got drone versions, enough air for two or three drones!
I’m trying to make one! Where do I measure for the sound holes from?
Wow! Can you creata a contrabass clarinette?
I'm working on it, I'll try with some 3D printing!
Do you have any tracks that you've recorded with it? I love how this sounds
I got a track in my album with the alto version of this instrument! nicolasbras.bandcamp.com/track/drones

yep, but far from chromatic!
Is there a way to make all of the notes an octave lower?
So it’s basically a clarinet but with attachments? Im trying to make this thing.
Right! Send me the result!
I on the latex glove part, i just need the measurements for the holes.
j'y travaille!
Where can I buy this? I buy exotic clarinets and mod them.
Sorry I stopped taking orders, too much work!
Maker tutorial when
hi, what is that element that you are using to make this sound, what is the name of it??/

When your hooked to the flute and do you play the fluit

Does it have a reed? Or only membrane makes the sound?
the membrane does
The membrane is a reed, a soft reed!
