Do you have a wiring diagram for your electrical systems both high voltage and low voltage that I could reference? I'm working on a build inspired by this and am stuck on this part a little. Open to paying for it if reasonably priced.
@DARKORBITPYRO send me an email Electricsupercar@gmail.com
When I was 17, I worked in a body shop and got to learn a lot about body work and paint. I can very much appreciate all the work you've put into making this car look perfect. I hope people who have an interest in body work can learn from all of your videos. Great work.
Thanks Rick!
what I love about this is how it does not hide anything, it shows the real side of these kind of products, just a lot of work and a lot of work even when you think you are done.
Thanks man, keep it up.
Thanks Friend!
Tip for the air compressor is those vibration dampers must go both sides, and preferably also have a spacer between the bolt and the actual foot, or use compliant rubber spacers, like you see on AC compressors. That removes a lot more of the vibration, and in addition you can also reduce the noise by putting some acoustic panels at the compressor height on the wall, to reduce the reflection off the hard surface. A simple cabinet, lined inside with the acoustic treatment, but with a large gap top and bottom for airflow, that is about a foot off the floor, will also help with the noise.
Thanks for the comment!
the fun part is not to make it just look good, we all can go to a professional and just pay him and it will look great, the fun is to make it look good YOURSELF in your home. Respect you did a great job that you should be proud of
Thanks Friend!
Was expecting a Porsche update, stayed for the car paint job crash course. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment!
I admire the thoroughness of your work. No shortcuts, and the end result was worth the effort.
Thanks Anthony!
That's why painters keep trying to get there primer as smooth as possible, I think with your attention to detail makes you harder on your self. You have done amazing job and it looks great. Pat yourself on the back. Great look job.
Thanks!
That blue just pops man.
That was the plan!
It turned out beautiful!!! Your problem solving skills are my favorite part of every video, because you explain your thought process. I appreciate all the hardwork you put in.
Thanks Friend!
The polish looks great! Almost like a mirror!
Thanks Pedro!
26:42 wow that looks amazing !
Thanks Friend!
For a long lasting look could go for paint protection film (PPF) or ceramic coating. Would suggest PPF but it's upto you. But that's a beauty. Great job. Now please upload more Porsche videos also. Thanks to EV doctor 🤜🤛
Thanks for the comment!
@@ElectricSuperCar Yes you did a great job, and making sure all the orange peel is gone is hard. Wax the car ata minimum, proper paste wax, or put on the ceramic film, to keep that surface good for a long time, and if possible put a skin on the front bumper lower and edges, to reduce stone chipping as it gets driven. Same for the door lips as well.
Man, that is a GORGEOUS paint job! Looks professional to me. You definitely have to do some paint protiction for all that effort!
Also, color choice is perfection. Beautiful blue with yellow accents ❤
Years ago I went to Wyo Tech in Laramie Wyoming (WTI) for paint and collision repair. You did an awesome job and the end result was fabulous. However, there are a few things you could have done to speed up the process. 1) There is no need to use 2000 grit or even 7000 grit. Color sanding to eliminate the orange peel, 1500 grit is sufficient. And I would never use any mechanical sander for this job. Always by hand, and always wet sand. Any good rubbing compound with aggressive cutting will polish out the 1500 grit. 2) For heavy cutting rubbing compound, a wool polishing wheel works really good. The key thing to remember is to keep the wheel lubed with compound, keep it moving, and clean often with a spur tool or screw driver. 3) Now is the time to remove the swirls that the heaving compound creates. A foam wheel is best with the appropriate detail polish that is designed to remove swirls. Always remember never to use a polishing pad for this step that was used with the heaving cutting compound because there's always heavy cutting compound that gets embedded in the wheel. Therefore you'll never get rid of the swirl marks. Polishing is pretty complex, but you did an amazing job about the way you did it. And I love that blue. Nice!
Thanks for the tips!
Firstly what a wild car in its own right!
You really turned that car paint around…the paint looked pretty freaking bad at the start.
🇦🇺🤛🏼😎🍀🍀🍀☮️🎅🏻🎄
Thanks Friend!
Looks fantastic! Great effort comes with great results!
Thanks Friend!
This was well worth the effort! I always loved this color, but now it shines like a gemstone! Thanks for outlining the process and tools used.
Thanks Dean!
Great vid, you make scary stuff feel do-able! That's awesome!
Thanks Friend!
It looks so good! Way to go!
Thanks!
this time mic job is classic, thank you
Thanks Friend!
My man has got the maximum raytracing setting possible. The finish looks stunning, especially for doing all of this in his own garage. Very impressive!
Thanks Friend!
Love the length and content, keep it up!!
Thanks Miguel!
You did a great job. Congratulations. The car looks fantastic.
Thanks Fernando!
@@ElectricSuperCar Thank you for the awesome content

Coming soon!
Looking good!
👍
Bad ass car. And the finish is sick. AWSOME
Thanks Bruce!
This gives me hope to see you at cars and coffee tomorrow! Love seeing you there.
Weather permitting 🤞
It looks beautiful and I just love this blue.
Thanks Friend!
the mirco swirls are from the sand paper clogging up with the dust and residue off the clear coat... A couple things u can do to mitigate this is; change out ur sand paper more often and use water to Wet sand. Heat doesn't help when sanding... but it is good when buffing. When using the compounds do a small section with a small amount until it basically disappears into the paint... if u put on too much compound it basically just slides around and does nothing.
Great job doing it in those cold conditions 💯💯👍
Thanks for the suggestions!
You did a great job, it looks super!
👍💪✌
Thanks Robert!
Professionals always do preliminary machine work with a rotary. An industry standard is the Makita 9227C. I like to use that with 3M waffle pads for heavy work (I’ve used 3M’s line of polishes / compounds). Now, that setup certainly will burn through clear very quickly so you do have to be very careful, but it will also correct paint in a single pass (per product). Finishing with an DA/RO (I use a Porter Cable 7424) is definitely easier (one handed operation, no swirls).
Nice! Thanks for the suggestion!
Damn good work man
Thanks Joseph!
You did a really nice job here 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks Friend!
It came out great 👍🏾

Dayum. Very nice work.

@@ElectricSuperCar Your welcome
Nice job! Shiny 🌟💎
Thanks Friend!
absolutely stunning results , I've really enjoyed following this build . Cool to see how much effort you put into each step .
Have you looked into any DIY ceramic coatings ? That would be cool to see , you're pretty good at turning your hand to most things .
Thanks for the comment!
And now I'm all caught up with all your work. Only took me a finals week 😂
LOL!🤣
Very wise of you to move the paint booth inside for a controlled environment. It looks great! Now she just needs a good Carnauba wax
Thanks for the comment!
For an all around guy that can build, do bodywork, paint and polish ?You did very well with the sanding and polishing, the car came out great. Next time use a rotary you will cut down ur polish time in half. You got the right compounds from the start but the random orbit polisher was ur achilles heel it's like having dull knife...Let the paint shrink and cure and before the end of summer u can color sand 2k, 2500, 3k, 4k, 5k buff it with a rotary. I would gladly help u next time u polish let me know no charge lol.
Nice! Thanks for the suggestion!
I have never done any work like this but I do a lot of metal sample surface prep for microscope imaging. Most of these deeper scratches that persist into polishing come from one of two issues. First, not fully sanding away the previous scratches before moving on to the next pad (i.e. moving on from 4000 to 6000 without removing all of the scratches from 2000 with the 4000 pad.) The smaller scuffs sort of hid the deeper scratches but they will reappear once you start polishing. Second, not fully cleaning the surface in between grit changes. This can leave coarser grit on or embedded in the surface causing deep scratches as you are using a finer grit pad. It becomes impossible to fully remove the deep scratches since you are continuing to drag the material around as you try to remove them. This issue also contaminates you pads causing them to not work properly ever again.
Thanks for the comment!
Try 3M 36060 rubbing compound. Loved the results on my rattle can paint job turned mirror polish.
Thanks for the suggestion!
god it must be useful to have your clone helping do almost half of work!
generally, congratulations on good results!
🤣 thanks Friend!
fish eyes are annoying. looks great! you should look into circular polishing. its definitely faster with correct rubbing compund (i was taught with 3M rubbing compounds and they worked fast) after sanding but you run the risk of burning the paint if your hands are slow so it does require a bit of practice so you dont overheat your area youre working and burn the paint but youll save so much time if you get the hang of it.
Thanks for the tip!
And the Colour blue actually looks really nice When are you planning to upgrade the interior also could you try something like get a Tesla from copart which has autopilot and fixing it in to the k1 attack and you can add the Tesla screen as well to give it a sleeker look inside outside looks nice but what about the interior
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@ElectricSuperCar wait I never new you’ll reply that fast so you are going to try and see if it works out that’ll be the first k1 attack with autopilot level 2 your interior does look okay but it does need some futuristic style to the interior you could like add strip light and some other cool features like change the speedometer from an iPad to something from a salvaged Tesla model s or a third party speedometer would make it cooler
inside with lights shows your beautiful work....still was waiting to see a outside in the sun looksee... how do you clean/prep after each sanding...just soap and water?
It is a water dewaxer/degreaser mixture
@@ElectricSuperCar nice...thank you.
What a awesome paint job wow sucks it really takes this much to do it but i really thought you would go ammo nyc ln this 😂 as for the car looks like a million buck if it was me though for sure make it a 5 seater lol
👍
i think your dual action polisher is the main problem. You might want to switch to start and finish up with a DA but be careful.
Thanks for the comment
Do you think that matte finish will help you avoid this paint issue? Anyway, would love to see the Porsche with matte paint on!
Nice!
As far as i know you should not sand in a rotation. If you just sand in a straight line its easier to polish off.
PS: that yust makes it faster, what you achieved looks really good and I apreciate the work put in!
Thanks for the suggestion
Sanding in a straight line is a great way to gouge lines in the finish. It can certainly be done, but should be done carefully and only near edges or body lines.
Have you thought about getting clear protection wrapped for stone chips and bugs etc?
Would be nice
What a difference... "Chalk & Cheese"... I'm sure you'll still find items to tinker with on Sundays...!
👍
Came out really good overall!! After you painted you had a ton of orange peel on the surface you delt with nicely. If you need to cut more you probably want to upgrade your polisher (look into orbit length), Milwaukee makes a good cordless that is a fan favorite. Also consider Rupes or Meguiars MICROFIBER polishing/cutting disks as well as their foam line. Works a lot better than the chemical guys stuff I used way back in the day (Upgraded my polisher a few years ago from the chemical guys stuff and was amazed at how much better it worked; I run a cordless FLEX but the Milwaukee is probably a better value and was not available back when I got mine). Some good stuff on polishing from the obsessed (th-cam.com/video/CUFz2en04qs/w-d-xo.html). OG Matt Morman is quite cocky... but the dude knows a thing or two for sure! Once you get it all dialed in, could look into a DIY ceramic coating like Geyon MOHS Evo, or The Obsessed Garage Crystal Serum Lite (CSL) + Exo Topper. Keep the awesome content coming!
Thanks for the detailed comment!
It's okay to color sand metallics...or is color sanding only being done to the clear coat?
Only on the clear coat or before repainting
how did you make your body shape ? I have desire to make my own car too that I designed, for now I only have design on PC, but I would really want to make it real car.
One way is to make a "plug". Check out this video.
th-cam.com/video/vROlbjjjGq0/w-d-xo.html
Nice. Hey what is the paint color and code you are using? Want to paint my Tesla super beetle project I have on my youtube channel that color. Thanks
Paint color is sub-zero blue from eastwood
@@ElectricSuperCar cool. Thanks
I hope I don't sound rude but do those rubber isolators do anything useful @ 10:18 ? The concrete anchors are a stiff/rigid connection so vibration would go into the floor anyways. Just asking.
Great question! In theory they do. I was just excited to get it off the pallet
@@ElectricSuperCar I guess they do protect the epoxy floor :)
I was wondering when you'd correct that paint on the hood, Wasn't going to say anything though.
LOL! it was bad!
Start 2:12
the ventilation looks rough while you are spraying.....clear coated mummy by the end.
More ventilation would be better!
How long did it take to build the supercar?
A long time..
2 years to get it registered...1 more year to get it to look good
have you measured 0-60, and 1/4 mile time?
Did some 0-60 testing with Zack (JerryRigEverything) th-cam.com/video/asQ3Erxl6gE/w-d-xo.html
