i COMPLETELY understand the hair situation. i feel so uncomfortable in my skin when my hair is too short, even though logically, i know i look the same in every other way! its just something i cant get over, even when my friends tell me my hair is getting too long, i'm like yall do not want me to have short hair or you wont be seeing me bc i'll be too shy and uncomfy.

you talking about how authenticity is a constant in your videos. just made me want to say, i’ve never felt like you showing when you’re up or when you’re down is more or less authentic than the other. i’ve just always felt that when you show when you’re down, you’re proving that it’s ok to be down. because i think despite the previous trend of acceptability of showing peoples “off” moments, there’s always been an underlying feeling of resentment and favourability towards certain versions of being low. and with your more raw videos i think the words authenticity and genuine, usually get used instead of that
and me saying “versions of being low” means the way people act when they’re struggling. i’ve noticed it in my own life, when i’ve mentioned different things my own problems have made me do/ or pushed me to do, there has always been a clear divide over what people think is “ok” side effect of being low or what is taboo/ unspoken about side effect
Matt is the absolute sweetest and so supportive of just making sure you're wanting this, even if it was in a stressy episode. Love it! Also, I'd watch you juice a 10lb bag of oranges and just talk about nothing and I'd love it. I love the chatting with a friend on the phone vibe. I have hypothyroidism and my hair is SO incredibly thin. It’s been the biggest insecurity of mine as long as I can remember, so I totally understand! Your hair looks absolutely fantastic to me! However, I know it doesn’t help coming from others when you don’t believe it for yourself. ❤

I have very similar hair to you and feelings toward my hair. My hair is my thing. A few years ago I had a hair appointment booked after a night out and I turned up maybe still tipsy and told my stylist to cut it super short. I HATED it, hated how it made me look and it made me really miserable. But it grows back so fast - give it 2-4 weeks and you will start to feel like yourself again. Also, I enjoy your vlogs so much, I would rather you post something you think is boring/no storyline (I would love it) than not post at all
PS I used to use the citrus juicer like you, but someone told me I was putting the orange/lemon halves in back to front! It seems counterintuitive, but it works a lot better if you flip the oranges the other way

I’m not sure if this is what you’re experiencing but I imagine content creators compare themselves to other content creators and their vlogs in the same way I compare my life to your vlogs and might even get down about themselves in the same ways. I would post things you’re proud of yes but try not to let yourself get down about a video if it’s because you’re comparing to others or comparing to unrealistic expectations!! I prefer chilled vlogs and they are more relatable/realistic to my life personally. that’s just my opinion and can be completely ignored!! second of all, i saw your half up half down hairstyle on insta the other day and it inspired me to cut and style my hair similar to yours!! i absolutely loved it!! you look stunning regardless of hair length. Its now the same length as yours and i literally feel the same way. Its crazy how attached to long hair we get! It will grow back, but that in between period where we dont know how to style it, etc. is stressful 😂

Try flipping your oranges around! I use a lemon squeezer like your orange one and I found out if you flip the fruit the non-intuitive way, you’ll get more juice out more easily!

I cut my hair like this two year ago (i have the same color hair and just a bit curlier, same length) and got a blunt cut that was shorter than my hair had been since I was 10 year old and had an IDENTITY crisis, so feel you and you just reminded me not to do it again. You look amazing tho per usual

I am the same exact way about my hair!!! Nobody has ever said it exactly how I feel. My hair is me lol I’ve always had it long and anytime I changed up too much I hated it or felt like a stranger!
I completely understand the hair situation! I recently got a trim that was way more of a trim then I was expecting but it grew out pretty fast and I just experimented with updos for a while😂. It sucks not feeling like yourself though and I am sorry!

Try flipping your oranges around! I use a lemon squeezer like your orange one and I found out if you flip the fruit the non-intuitive way, you’ll get more juice out more easily!

hi mary!! just a quick thought about click baitey titles, i do feel that the audience gained without click baitey titles is maybe a little less but more consistent and present! ill def watch a click bait video here and there but rarely follow up with the creator!
I cut my hair like this two year ago (i have the same color hair and just a bit curlier, same length) and got a blunt cut that was shorter than my hair had been since I was 10 year old and had an IDENTITY crisis, so feel you and you just reminded me not to do it again. You look amazing tho per usual
Honestly every couple of years you need that reminder that no you really do dislike short hair 💀 don’t know why I keep forgetting and needing that reminder again!!
Regarding the packing video, I really enjoyed it but I watched it a few days after you posted because I didn’t recognize that it was your video from the thumbnail. Even after adding it to my watch-later I searched for it again because I usually recognize you in the thumbnails but for this video I didn’t.

I think your hair looks gorgeous! But as a fellow long-haired girl, I totally understand how jarring it feels to cut off even a couple of inches. I also place a lot of my confidence in my appearance on my hair. It will grow out. But until then, hopefully you start to like it.
