Thanks Not a massive pc gaming fan, more of a console guy really, but the C & C franchise i've loved from day 1 (yep, THAT old) i've worn two sets of discs out playing and thought, after major issues with compatibility on my new (ish) pc it was goodbye forever, even tried to get my XP pc to keep going so i could jjust play it, but even that gave up the ghost after a while, that was until I came across your content. @@fadishammas770 you have to run the game in windowed mode (gen patcher provides a second shortcut icon that launches the game in windowed) and use the gentool menu to find the the “window position” setting and change it around

I tried everything but it stil doens't work. I have high end gaming pc. But when i boot up the game I can choose between "Generals" or "Generals Zero Hour". Why does generals work but Generals zero gives the serious error... Every video I watch i can see guys boot up Generals Zero Hour instantely but I always get the pop menu to choose between Generals or generals zero hour game. What else can I do?

Does no one use the online lobbies to create matches anymore? I remember that when Gamespy shut down a community patch was used to redirect the multiplayer to a community server, and that's where I last played games like 5 years ago.
Please help. Everything else works fine but i can't move around the map with my mouse cursor. Only if i hold right click button or use keyboard arrows. I'm in full screen mode and still doesn't work.

If you haven't yet, please switch off your virus scanner and try again. Playing CnC in window mode means mouse pointer no longer moves screen, the taskbar takes up the bottom of the screen even with auto hide on and the mouse click detection is buggier than a the set of Ants.

Does this work for singleplayer? Can you play with 60fps or even 120fps without major gamebreaking bugs or altered game speed? Minor bugs wouldnt bother me. Just wanna relive the greatness of the campaigns... :)

There is no "insert" key on my laptop. However there is a delete key which also has very small "insert" label below it but when I press it gentool didn't show up. Any solution?
I followed most of the steps successfully but when I install GameRanger, click on edit, options, I scroll down to C&C Zero Hour but it’s saying “location not found”. When I click on browse, it does not show the “launcher” folder as shown in the video. Please help 😢
I've gone through all the instructions however when the start up happens and loads to the main menu it crashes with the window of technical difficulties popping up.
I did everything according to your guide and unfortunately when I turn on full screen the game runs at 30-35 frames and freezes. Everything looks fine while running in a window mode. What is it about ? Specs: i5-12500h 32gb ddr4 rtx4050 windows 11 The best thing is that graphics settings have no effect on how this game runs in full screen. It's always bad.
@@DoMiNaToR3 GenTool 8.8 - It doesn't matter whether I'm running skirmish or online play, because from the moment I start the game it simply doesn't work well in full screen. Even the menu works slowly.

full context: C&C-online is a website that has information about setting up playing through the built in multiplayer of the game. I think the setup is the same and requires gen-tool, but you also make an account on the revora forum and use that as your log in to play through the game. The community is tiny for Generals ZH and I've only seen private games for the most part.

Try again I hope it is available soon in France. There is new Steam version of C&C Ultimate Collection however the genpatcher or gentool might not work. Maybe wait as well on that. All the best.

i followed your video but the base game is still lagging and barely playable and my pc can run new games on ultra. But have no issues with mods. modded game dont lag for me. could you please recommend a good mod for skirmish as i only play solo play vs bots have done so for like 15 years on and off
If you play skirmish vs AI and it’s a big map so the lots of mountains and water then it will always lag, no matter what pc you got. It’s to do with pathing around impassable areas

Tried to add 2560x1440 in the options ini, but then im super zoomed in. how do you have the options to set up the resolution properly? is it with genpatcher?nvm. gentool wont run with the executable implemented on EA APP and im trying to find a way to execute ZH without this damn idiotapp

No, hold right click mouse button and scroll around. If it doesn’t work then enable alternative mouse setup in options

The best thing is that graphics settings have no effect on how this game runs in full screen. It's always bad.
What version gentool you have.
Dont play using skirmish. Only play in network mode

I dont have two PC's myself but yes I believe you can do it.
Game Ranger does not accept the application under the browser selection. Also the launcher folder does not exist.

this also works on steam if you put the .exe inside the steam folder that the game is installed in

how to change the camera height? when I played the game the camera was too close I think it was default (300)
I believe the height can be changed using the menu in GenTool. Don't take my word on that because GenTool is sort of new to me still.
