He has the tendency to hate students like Snape in Harry Potter, and he’s not the most patient principal. Mr Stictland is an strict man as he lives up to his name and want to run an school with discipline.
I love the serious low brass at 5:01 indicating that Marty is poking the bear with a biff encounter.
I was found it interesting how they mixed 1 and 2 together.

How has Biff managed to get to 18 or so without Strickland giving him detention
I’ve always thought that BttF 2 was a more deeper concept story than BttF 1.
This is first time, in a movie, when someone time travels and witnesses their past experience in a time travel sequence.
Note how Marty 2 can remember what appended on that scene as he calls it “deja vu”. But we can assume that Marty 1 doesn’t know what’s going to happen yet, and he doesn’t know about the extra risk of Biff having that sports almanac. Marty 2 is more mature, has a greater accumulation of experience than Marty 1. Marty is bound by another level of time.
That’s a concept worth exploring further.
My thought of Marty 1 travelled to the year 2015, the part he & Doc were in hilldale, Doc tells him to stay inside the Deloren to watch out by Biff for getting revenge thinking Marty 1 crashed his car to the manaure truck twice, ask him about the almanac, but Marty 1 doesn’t know what he was talking about so he punched him back before Doc shows up with Jennifer.
I lost count how many times i have watched this trilogy and over the decades and im not tired yet, if it on the TV is a must sit down and watch
5:55 The malfunction in the DeLorean time machine destination marking it as Jan 1, 1885 is a precursor to the lighting strike later in the movie that sends the Doc to 1885.
The "I think he took his wallet" guy was the true star of the trilogy

Strickland goes all nuts on Biff because he thinks he's been drinking. Next scene Strickland pulling a bottle from his drawer and downing some hooch at his desk. I love it. A very 1950's scene. 👍
Also, when he walks back to his desk after inspecting how the door suddenly closes, he hides his mug in his suit.
He wasn't "going all nuts" on Biff because he suspected Biff of drinking, it was because Biff responded to his questioning by making a cheeky remark, which to humorless disciplinarians like him, was disrespect.
Is that why? I thought he was cold he straightens up and looks around then walks hiding the cup

Yeah, and it is like you're right there with Marty, as he desperately tries to get the almanac back! That of which ended up being far easier said than done for him to do for certain, especially since one thing going wrong would entirely mess up the mission as well! (L.O.L.!)

First time I saw this was the morning of Christmas Eve in 2004 on ABC Family. Caught it right around this scene, I was 9 years old and 2:45 and 5:14 had me in tears. Also the door to the face, instant favorite

The first time I saw this movie, at the part when Biff looks at Marty and shouts "You!", I thought he was answering the guy's question about what CPR was, since he had just asked that question. In other words, I thought Biff was saying that Marty was CPR.

Doc should've really noticed that his design had a flaw. The lever for the Time Circuits and the transmission lever are much too close together. No wonder they keep accidentally travelling through time.
Guess it was a stressful situation. Easy to miss things in such circumstances.

Wouldn't Mr Strickland have found it strange for the years on the sports almanac cover to be from 1950-2000? Unless maybe he overlooked the years on the sports almanac cover and looked straight at the Ooh La La magazine.
And not only the "1950-2000" caption, also the fonts and the design of the cover was way too modern for the 1950's

I seriously can’t imagine how much it took out of him not to scream.
From 0:11-0:16, since Biff said he was too young to drink liquor, I know he was drinking liquor before his friends (Match, Skinhead, and 3-D) ran off to find Marty. So I can only guess that Biff stole the liquor from his strict grandmother that he's living with just so he could drink liquor with him being underage. Otherwise, if Biff really is age 21 or above that could only be because he was held back a grade a few times making himself the oldest in High School but is not allowed to be drinking liquor or any alcohol on the school grounds.
@@HolyRollerTV Yes that is true that Biff is 18 years old which means he's underage to drink liquor or any alcohol but, he's still drinking it. However, Biff lives with his grandmother and not his mom (I'm guessing Biff's parents died so he's living with his grandmother) so that liquor must belong to his grandmother and if his grandmother found out that her liquor is gone she might have said "Biff, my liquor is gone, you must have drank it" where Biff might have said "no Grandmother, that's your liquor and you drank it, you can't remember because you're getting too old."

@@NukeCaulfield I didn't know about that since I wasn't born in the 1950s but, I guess it was normal for Biff to drink liquor but just not on the school grounds whether school hours are going on or not.
@@afriendofbean he was 18 here. during the alternate 1985 it says he won his first million at a trip to the horse track on his 21st birthday in 1958 making him 18 years old in 1955. the legal drinking age was changed from 18 to 21 in 1984 which in 1955 made him a legal drinker.

No bc he went back to 1985....in the timeline biff gets wealthy, george and lorraine still have Marty in the same way and time of birth but Biff kills george and becomes his step dad

I've always wondered when i watch this scene, why does he put his cup inside his jacket at 2:20 after checking the door only to walk across the room and begin drinking from it again? Didn't make sense. How does he not see him under the desk either?
In minute 0:23 looking at the magazine Mr Strickland says "Sports statistics", while in his office Min 3:18 Marty finds out it is an "Oh La La" magazine. How was that possible?

So did Marty not think there was something unusual when Biff pretty much let Principal Strickland take the "almanac" from him, knowing he wasn't going to dare let his literal newfound prized possession fall into someone else's hands without a fight? That along with Strickland apparently not noticing that book was from the future, which he could have found out about, even if he only had the dust cover to it? There's also no way Marty wouldn't have screamed in pain like a little girl when Strickland accidentally crashed his chair into his hand at the very least for that matter as well! (L.O.L.!)
Yeah I thought exactly the same: even if Biff fears Strickland, that almanac is just too precious to just let it go like that. And yeah the cover of the almanac clearly reads "2000", and even the design itself was too modern for that time. Strickland would have immediately noticed there was something weird about that book.
I feel all these are hindsight thoughts, and don't forget, Marty is a teenager, so you can't expect him to think of everything.
