    Classic absolute no clue what the wattage, voltage and amperage is. Meter shows 185W, and the local ebike guru says 3000W.

      It's a 3kw controller. The motor is running no load. Thats why power consumption is low...

      i took it as a base line to see max rpm using the same esc and battery on various moters, would be cool to see various rpm vs watts vs various load graphed out

    Where on earth are you reading power draw? CA clearly shows under 300 W as the motors were spinning in free air. "3000 W" repeated over and over again has no relevance in whatever test you are trying to conduct here in free air. Only demonstrations here are Kv and hysteresis losses. Get any RC bldc motor on there and watch it spin to 100s of miles per hour, unloaded obviously.

      Yeah, I face palmed pretty deep on this one. You still get a good idea of the KV rating of each motor though.

      Exactly,no load so it could hit top speed with 300w controller. Main thing to mention would be the same voltage in all scenarios because that is relevant in this scenario. Which hub spins faster with same voltage...
