  • Join me as I show you my Minelab Equinox 800 beach settings in both dry sand and wet sand, I also show you how I try my best to work with the highly mineralized sands containing magnetite.
    I treasure hunt using a Minelab Equinox 800. I would like to thank the CKG Scoop company for providing me with such an awesome beach scoop. I was really missing Old Rusty and to have something almost identical is like having my old friend and gold magnet back.

    Sir, I have the 900 and was wondering if you could tell me how to eliminate some hits that give me bottle caps...

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I dig bottle caps because they are not always bottle caps. I have found a lot of rings over the years thinking they were bottle caps. Most bottle caps have iron and ridged edges, some have foil wrap, some are aluminum so you will dig them anyway. If not digging iron bottle caps is important then hunt in discrimination mode and adjust iron bias higher.

    • @funwithjim

      Pasture / Field - I would agree the bigger the coil the better!

  • @TheCreator-dx3vc
    @TheCreator-dx3vc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So let me get this straight I’m kinda new. So (F2) 0 - 4 means you will pick up for trash iron but better chance of not missing a score. And (F2) higher than 4 your reducing the chance of finding every piece of junk but may lose a good score from accidentally canceling out something good from trying to cover up the iron? My NOX 800 comes in 2 days 🙃🙃

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      F2 is all metal mode already, many variables but basically yes however, iron rich soil need a delicate balance to actually capture a accurate return signal to coil. So if you set F2 to low of settings in high iron rich areas then it will be too sensitive causing a lot of false targets or false-ing off small thin iron. So moving up to above 4 will help. So No Iron in sand or soil (very rare) then a F2 0 all metal would be a true all metal mode. Iron Bias settings on our nasty black sand beaches are perfect at F2-4 or Fe-6.
