MiG2107 I really enjoy train and I love taking a ride in them. Been on trains in many countries around the world but nothing beat's Japanese trains, it's truly an experience.
All I see is wires and lights. Everywhere. Overhead, snaking around on the ground, on railings, under platforms. Wires and wires everywhere. And those weird flashing yellow lights. Eeek!
I noticed that the train master must signal the motorman that the signal is green. The motorman then acknowledges that he seen the train master OK to proceed. I was looking to see if the train master told the motorman where to stop. He did signal him to proceeded on the green light.
An interesting and fascinating video. Thank you for these great impressions. I hope that one day I can see this with my ohne eyes. Greetings from Germany
Definitely one of the fastest metro systems in the world. (130kmh) It does seem slower due to the fact that the camera is zoomed in because it is way behind the driver room.
Satoshi: "Which way are we going today, Hiro?" Hiro: "We're going that way." Satoshi: " That way?" Hiro: "Yes yes, that way." Satoshi: "OK OK... wait, just so I'm clear it's that way, correct?" Hiro: "You would be correct, it's that way sir." Satoshi: "I understand. It's definitely that way we're going right?" Hiro: "Yep, that way. Satoshi: "I love going that way. Hiro: "I love going that way too."
I am vecer curious...why does the left sided man keep pointing so often? What is he pointing on/to? Is that a sign or is he pressing a button not seen on the video? Also, is this some new Shinkanzen line? There are way too many people filming this (and also in the cabin there are SO MANY people just watching). If someone could help, that would be much appreciated.
In Japan, 2 people are basically driving the train. One is the actually driver while the other checks him. The driver uses hand signals when they see a sign or light so the 2nd can check if he has seen everything correctly.
The line is basically an express line assembled from stretches of generic tracks and a new overpass just out of Tokyo station. We are in very central Tokyo and building space is at a premium. It is not a fast train but makes possible Shinagawa to Ueno in 16 minutes - previously it was a 25-30 minutes ride on Yamanote or Keihin-Tohuko. Opened in 2015.
I think this is a training run, hence the two cab crew. However, Japanese train operators are always required to point before doing anything. It is supposed to make them more conscious of their actions.
Two main lines ran through Tokyo started the direct operation with each other because new tracks connect one to the other had opened. This train ran on the new tracks.

So if it derails, what do they point at? Each other?
It seems to be a protocol related with signalling.
Que belo vídeo ! Pena não não chegaremos a este nível de infraestrutura aqui no Brasil.

All sound alerts (advising which will be the next station) are full automatic or the train operator most do something to make it works?
They are automatic
It ain't the fastest, but it does bring you from A to B with a nice view.

What are the motormen signalling with their hands?
They point to signals and signs to make sure they are recognized correctly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointing_and_calling
