Ummmm ..... How can a man from Snowy River be on the Murray!? I always assumed he was from a fair way east of Corryong .... in the Snowy River region.

no ok so the man from snowy river was just based on banjo Patersons friend and he got all of his inspiration from bringenbrong station because Elane Mitchell use to live there and Elane Mitchell was a writer and helped banjo paterson write it and yes!

Banjo Patterson wrote a lot of his poetry at Kylies Run. One of his poems is titled 'On Kylies Run' ffs. There has to be more detail somewhere, but where to find the Truth, and put it together is the hard part in Australia. Anyone here with any idea of making a bob ($), will say anything, the place is full of bullshit artists, it's a national sport. ;)

Johnny Reilly was the man from snowy river (maybe some call him jack).. I happen to have the evidence if you need it

Please, I put forward Breaker Morant, both wrote poetry for Sydney papers

@@edjacobs6897- would like to see the evidence because so far it looks like a bunch of Victorians wanting to lay claim of something that isn’t theirs.

Banjo Patterson was a poet and as such, he was full of shit.
Poets make up their poetic stories but often they are inspired by real events.
But you can't always tell all of the real event and make it rhyme. The truth must be adjusted so that it fits the rhyme.
It doesn't really matter that Patterson took advantage with his 'literary licence', his story was about a real man and that man, was Jack Riley.
