Winger is everything wrong with hair metal: a monumental waste of talent buried under 26 layers of lyrical cringe and formulaic songwriting.
Worth noting, when that song was written (1988), 18 was the age of consent in 13 states out of 50. So what Kip's singing about was illegal in over a 1/5th of the country then. On the other hand, the lowest age of consent at the time was _14_ in Georgia and Hawaii (which moved up to 16 in 1995 and 2001, respectively). Despite the common assumption and the fact that federal laws involving sex crimes against minors use the standard of 18, 17 is in fact "old enough" in the other 37 states (16 is actually most common). So yeah, it's kind of an indictment of Winger, but at the same time it's also kind of an indictment of us all.

I was hoping lulu would be on this list, and it was! Funnily enough those aren't even near the worst lyrics on the album. The more suspect lyrics include Lou Reed talking about being "dry and spermless like a girl" and "swallowing a cutter like a colored mans dick".
There's quite a lot of weird lyrics on half of this album. Including, Pumping Blood (a song about bloodplay?), Mistress Dread (a song about lesbian sub/dom bdsm?), Frustration (a song about sexual frustration?), Little Dog (a disgusting song about a cuckold relationship???) and finally Dragon. (a song about... sexual worship? I don't really know...)
I would never listen to those songs again of my own volition, but the other five songs on the album are actually pretty good! Brandenburg Gate, The View, Iced Honey, Cheat On Me, and Junior Dad, are all genuinely interesting, in my opinion of course.They stray away from the weird horny lyrics and go for some experimental stuff, which is what the whole album should have been.
I dont know how Metallica put up with some of these lyrics, but the instrumentaIs they put down are as solid as ever. I definitely recommend listening to the whole thing at least once, its an experience, for better or worse
According to some folks who know more than me about Lulu, a lot of the lyrical problems are because it's a concept album based on the German plays _Earth Spirit_ (1895) and _Pandora's Box_ (1904), known as Frank Wedekind's "Lulu plays" after their main character. It's a two-part story about a young woman who dreams of becoming a social climber and ends up a destitute prostitute. They were extremely dark and insanely shocking to mainstream audiences of their time (both lesbian encounters and Jack the Ripper show up), which is probably what attracted the ever-controversial and contrarian Lou. The problem, of course, is that those lyrics are being sung not by a young woman from the late 1890's, but by Lou goddamn Reed at the age of 69 in 2011. So the already fragmented and disturbing lyrics make absolutely no sense because you would never know it's a concept album and not from Lou's perspective.

I think the lyrics to "Breakfast At Tiffany's" were purposefully written to be bad. The entire song is about a lousy relationship, and the chorus is sort of like a last resort for the protagonist in trying to have a conversation with their partner. The lyrics are still awful, but I think I respect that song a bit more now that I know that it's trying to tell a story.
