    I learned some things! I'm no plumber, but I have worked on a lot of under-sink configurations, making so much better and having issues on this particular job. The way you rolled the puddy and used the teflon tape are the things I didn't know. What a greatly helpful video! Thanks! Now if I can just remember these things the next time I need them. 😏😁🤣 I do have the specialty tools, just not all the practical knowledge and their remedies when needed.

    As I listen to you I can’t shake the Louis Rossman/Lock Picking Lawyer love child vibe.
    Content like this really deserves more exposure. Your view numbers seem incongruent with your relatively high subscriber base. Unfortunate. Good luck in the future.

    Can't count the number of those I've done throughout the years, even a few that had the broken nut just like this one. It's good Rose has you as a neighbor, just saved her a couple hundred bucks from an unscrupulous plumber! One thing I would have done a little differently tho, when I saw how dirty the pipe was inside, I would have just pulled the whole trap and T adapter out to clean them... Nevertheless, a job well done...

    Are the doors designed to open out rather than inward because of hurricanes?

    • @electronicsNmore

      Better for hurricanes and fires.

    • @Quickened1
      @Quickened1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's also an added benefit. That looks to be a pretty small house, having the door open outward buys you an extra 10 square feet of floorspace and without it knocking into furniture when it's fully opened!

    Is that really 40 years old? I just had to replace the under the sink plumbing in my kitchen and it was put there in the 90s and there was little PVC, it was mostly metal. 40 years ago is 1981, were they using all PVC back then?

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The house was built in the early 60s, and the sink was probably replaced early 80s.

    I have really bad luck. Any time I touch any plumbing, I replace EVERYTHING I touch. In my experience, these things are designed to seal 1 time, especially those little hoses that go from the wall to the toilet or from the copper pipes to the faucet fittings.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plumbing is a pain in the @ss, do a good job, and you can still get leaks with pvc drains.

    • @JT-lq4yd
      @JT-lq4yd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem is that the hoses AKA supply lines, their gasket seals are damaged due to them being over tightened during installation.

  • @adrianchetwynd1334
    @adrianchetwynd1334 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The rubber seal is meant to seal the drain to the sink bowl. As in: it should have been used instead of the putty.
    The rubber ring is pointless below the sink bowl because if the putty was to leak the water would seep via the threads.
    The rubber seals work fine alone but no harm in a light layer of silicone on both sides of the rubber seal.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Incorrect. Placing the rubber seal under the flange inside the sink, results in the flange being higher than the sink bowl and you end up with standing water around the flange. I've corrected many of those over the years. Using the rubber seal under the bowl, allows the nut to compress the washer evenly against the underside of the bowl in case there's any irregularities.
