Oh, I've heard of Stan! He was an amazing singer, songwriter, and human being. Here in the States, he was just breaking through when he was taken. I share his music whenever I can. God Bless his soul forever... thank you for the video!
I love all of Stan Rogers albums. I was getting ready to attend a festival at which he would be singing when I got the news that he had died. I didn’t bother going to the festival. His music will live on. I did get to see Garnet Rogers, a few times in concert. Both of them are a musical treasure trove!
You are doing the Lord’s work with this video Jerry. People also haven’t heard of Mozart, Beethoven, Wilson Pickett, Albert King, Ralph Stanley, etc. etc. But our boy Stan... he’s a special bit of ex nihilo. How do you like his son, Nathan, doing Northwest Passage?

Thank you for the kind words
Stan Rogers is still well remembered in Nova Scotia. There is an annual festival in Canso NS, which I have attended twice. His music lives on.
Truly one of the best.
Indeed. This video was a labor of love. In Thanks for the kind words.
Northwest Passage hits me in my Canadian soul. He was so talented
No argument here
It also hits me in my American soul. Probably says a lot about what hits us...
I've heard of Stan! Sadly, gone too soon. 😢
Agreed. Sadly, he was killed just as his career was talking off. Glad you enjoyed the video, and kept spreading the music.

The Mary Ellen Carter has been sung onstage and by the audience at the close of the Winnipeg Folk Festival for decades. Thanks Sully.

Check out the music of Canada's Dreadnoughts and the UK's The Longest Johns to see the influence of Stan on contemporary music.
