Hi, Everyone... If you are looking for tips to help with your violin tuning I've created a video: th-cam.com/video/qbufOE9Ya0Q/w-d-xo.html that should help with slipping pegs, and other tuning issues. It's just the first a few videos on this topic... so let me know what else you would like me to cover.
There are several things for how to learn the violin Decide precisely why you wish to play the violin Ensure that you are committed to learn the violin Find what method works for you best - an online course or a personal tutor or lessons. (I learned about these and more from Ajana Music Lessons website )
Can you do a video where you tune a violin a half step down? Zac Brown Band violinist Jimmy DeMartini tunes his violin down a half step according to some articles that I read and I have no idea what that sounds like🤷🏻♀️
One time it was my first time trying to tune my e string using pegs by myself... um yeah I broke it and my soul just flew out my body... I’m scared of turning the pegs now
@@blewberypi8173 I feel ya... I even got a small cut because when my e string snapped it hit my finger. I had to tell my orchestra teacher the string magically broke somehow- or something along those lines... dunno if she believed me. All she said was “mhmmm” 😅 But yeah, I’m still scared of turning the pegs but I really want to learn...
My Goodness, thank you! I received a new violin today, was so far off I couldn't find the right key. This helps a lot of new violinists, for sure. I know it helped me!
A lot of people complaining that their violin won’t tune or the strings are fucked. Just loosen all the fine tuners and loosen each string, then tighten the string to the closest note using a tuner app. After that retune the string using the fine tuners. If you just keep readjusting the fine tuners ever time it’s time for tuning they’re just gonna keep getting tighter and tighter. Always loosen the fine tuners and strings when tuning. If you can’t get the strings to stay at a certain note when retuning or tuning at all just make sure to press them in when tuning. Also keep your violin clean and use super gentle soap if you ever need to clean anything. Always make sure to wipe down the end of the fingerboard when you’re done playing. And hell. To make tuning easier so that way you don’t end up tightening the fine tuners too much, just make sure to unwind the strings a notch and loosen the pegs before putting your instrument away. You’re welcome.
OHHHHH MY GOD GUYS I JUST SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF MYSELF. XD I was tuning the E string, and it was taking up to 6-7 minutes to make the tuning with my horrible pegs. Then I was looking away listening to the string, then I heard a large BANG!! I thought it was my last string (Since I had no more replacements)! THE FUCKING BRIDGE FELL OFF THE FLIPPIN BRIDGE.
Lmao. Haven't touched the violin in almost 7 to 8 years and last I touched I didn't even know how to tune it. My teacher tuned it for me since it was school. 😂 Now here I am buying a violin and learning all the basics again and tuning it
Played my violin Sunday at church alongside the rest of the crew and noticed something wasn't quite right with my g string when harmonizing with "what a day that will be", this little tuning video fixed me right up! I will be back! Hehe.
I haven't touched my violin in two years. I am now starting to play it again and I had completely forgotten how to tune the darn thing 😭 I have to watch tutorials now.
My chromatic tuner was annoying me to no end and every single video I watched to help me tune it made it look simple. After watching this, I got my violin tuned perfectly ^.^
Tip for everyone breaking their strings, just use the fine tuners until you are more comfortable tuning. Your local luthier can help out with the pegs until you are more comfortable tuning.
I havent played a string instrument since 2013, dont know anything about violins, and have never tuned an instrument before and this video helped me to somewhat tune the really offtune villain I got from my local library
I think with a lot of these people who say that the bridge fell off, or the strings broke are either new to the violin, have a pretty old one, or just got a brand new violin and tried to tune it themselves. With a new violin, it's hard to keep the bridge in while tuning (from my experience, at least.) Any other time, it's nice to check that the bridge is pretty straight throughout using you instrument. With an old violin, be it old strings, new bridge, or whatever, it's nice to change EVERYTHING on the violin you have. Usually, you're supposed to change your strings every six months or so. My longest being about eight months. With my bridge, I change it about every year, unless it breaks before hand. Now, for the pitch of these strings in the video, I'd say they're rather accurate. I don't think the E is too high or anything else with any of these strings. I've been using this video to tune my instrument for quite a while now, and I've had no problems. Even my colleagues compliment me on how well tuned and kept up my violin is.
Oh and btw when your tuning your violin make sure to check your bridge everythime you tune it because otherwise your bridge might fall off and it's sounds like a gunshot
Today i have to return the violin a friend of my mom borrowed me and I'm so mad at myself for not playing for 2 years. And I hate myself for not picking it up when i wanted because the shame constantly stabbed me. I'm going to play it one last time before I return it. For the dream of playing i left behind.
@hellfinder4687 i'm poor, for a reason the violin was never mine. My mom's friend borrowed it to me because she had it for years and years and never touched it

well you really should buy one. They probably bought it off the internet and just to tell you, NEVER DO THAT!!! The violins come in crappy conditions.
