I dont think that i heard a soundtrack being so naturaly metal without of dull moment ever, this was so original and greatly used, 6 choirs this beast has and our own Prague orchestra, then Gustaf Grefberg just rock and roll over it... i cant even tell you how much disapointed i was with score for second game, this is pure gold, i can think of only Red alert 3, Doom 2016, some old Unreal tournament and Killing floor music that is kind of like this, but its not many ( yes i know about Devil may cry but that is band songs.. ) and my god if we need more of these....

I can not believe how many references to "Mass Defect" there are in the comments section for this video. As for the song itself, it sums up the final act of one of the most memorable video games I've played in years, and recalls one of the only video game endings I can recall, that was in a word- Perfect.

Never before have I felt like such a total fucking beast and without this music I don't think it would even be possible.

I see what you mean, but perhaps what makes a game original can be destroyable terrain, the ability to jetpack, or ski, unique weapons. Games like Metro and Fear that are horror shooters, or Amnesia, or the Darkness all have their own little bits and bobs that make the game unique. And then you have the characters and the storyline. What I'm saying is that there is a lot more than just the characters and story of a game that makes it special, its the atmosphere, the sounds, the feel. etc. :)
After what Jackie's been through then this song is fitting for retribution. It's a shame that all the CoD games & BF games couldn't be original like this was.
I weep when i see what has happened to both the BF and COD series. COD 4 and BF:Bad Company 2 were probably the apex of each individual franchise's series!

I think a dream of mine is to be a professional studio guitarist for stuff like this.. Movie and game stuff. Cause I have lots of inspiration to make this kinda of stuff. I jam stuff like this all the time. I would kill to work with good games and bring everyone music like this that is ABSOLUTELY badass.
I loved it. It was actually really amazing detail for a cartoonish look. The way they did the lighting and shadows on the characters and shit really made it feel like a comic book. And the first game had mediocre graphics anyway. I mean the gameplay and everything was much more polished than before and the characters were all well developed. Its a masterpiece shooter in my book.
yeah, but the concept of the darkness is rather original. When you think about it, CoD are just remakes of each other now. But the darkness was a very original idea from a gameplay point of view. And even in comics it's a very original idea.
