I love this device its the heart of my modular setup. Its like all the best parts of the best sequencers in eurorack in a box. Amazing. Metrical mode is Rene, stochastic mode is marbles and melodicer, it has a built in grids, and an Euclidian generator that can be modulated just like pams! Modulating the number of steps and length of multiple Euclidian rhythms that go to the same sound source is an amazing way to generate new ideas. Love it!
Really great message! I love that there is still so much for me to explore. The Matraceal mode for instance is just waiting in the wings for me to discover
GAZ did you you used to live near Aldershot Ash years ago as I used to talk with a nice friendly bloke in the lion brewery pub who had several American cars he traded and fixed I was in one of the band s that played there you appear very similar to him 👍 great show
Really enjoyed this! I have barely got to grips with my Oxi One so far and you’ve inspired me to spend my next few days of annual leave with it 😊 Total newcomer to your world but I also very much enjoyed the quality bagpipe/banana content. Will be keeping an ear out for Quasimodal too (GREAT name). Looking forward to the drum chapter!
Hello Gaz! Thanks a lot for your support, we are so very pleased that you like the OXI One we designed with much love and sweat! Hope you have tons of fun with it! Cheers!
The most fun I've had with the Oxi is filling the slots of my MC 707 with the sequences generated randomly. Then putting different voices in each slot of the 707 and then jamming using the slot grid and faders for mutes. Thie is a great way to make songs you would never have considered using a linear DAW You can also get the chord track to follow external midi so all your tracks follow your midi input. I have to say though that this devices complexity can leave you staring at it wondering where the hell you are and how you got there.
@@GazWilliams I had a love / hate relationship with the 707 for a long time but using it with the Oxi made me realise that it is a beast for live performance. The fact that each slot in the matrix can be a different voice is really powerful. Make random choices in selecting the voices and all sorts of happy surprises will occur. You can just jam a different song each time you press the start button.
@@Fred-r2dinspiring! The synth engine in the 707 is really deep so I’d imagine there is plenty that this combo can achieve. Hmm future video idea? Thanks!
