    The Anchor sock just use large electrical heat shrink at each end. I use it on my Anchor rope over the spliced sections works a treat. Plastic Cable ties will break down in the UV and Salt. Stainless wire or Cable ties will break due to flexing. Nice honest review, Im not sure of your background but those cracks are showing you have a lot of movement in the hull. Pay a boat builder to do a inspection as it may need extra bracing below the deck as well. On a side note I worked for a Engineering that started to import ion ore crushing machines from China. I remember the first one we imported looked good from a meter away but when we did the proper QA we found that the so called welds where painted silicon. The 2 ton sample crusher had been put together with Tack welds and the Silicon to look like perfect welds. I have worked with Chinese manufactures before and unless the workers are supervised they will cut corners and see nothing wrong with it.

    Awesome work mate. I have a plate boat built in QLD and am looking at upgrading to something like this. There is sweet F@#$k all info like this out there so cheers mate for the honest feedback after 300hrs. There doing the 7.5mt profish with a 300ltr tank now and the 6.85mt with a 200ltr. Not awesome but better

    Hey , thanks for the review much appreciate the time and non bias opinion you have given , I'm looking at one and have seen one review shit caning them however I have seen peopl in forums with Yellowfiin plate boats where windows are leaking that bad that passenger can't sit in seat , water streaming out of the hull for minutes like a hose after use and that's Australian built and $135k , so thanks for showing us that are looking at an affordable boat that still want to do some offshore fishing 👍👍

    To fix the nylon anchor sheath sliding on the chain, just get some stainless mousing wire and poke it through the sock and through the centre of a chain link, then wrap it tightly a few times & twist it off. I did this at each end and every 1 metre down the chain sock. Works a treat.

    Sir, with regards to the cracks you should deal with them as soon as possible because the corrosion will still get into the cracks and spread, plus it will put additional stress on the rest of the weld.
    At least get yourself a drill 3mm and drill both ends of crack to stop it running further. The get the crack ground out and rewelded.

      Yes. I sleeved all the bolt fittings with plastic. Stop all dissimilar metals. Factory is implementing a few now

  • @espenforfen1334

    Interesting little issues.
    Those 2 cracks on the side of the cabin supports are serious, it's metal fatigue from sideways movement.
    Definitely attend to this while it is easily repairable.
    You need to add 2 x 8mm x 75mm 306 stainless steel flat plate from the bottom of the side walkway all the way up to the roof fitted flat on the end of the upright.
    It should NOT be mechanically attached, but glued on with Sika 11FC structural polyurethane adhesive sealant over the cleaned paint, this will allow some minimal flex with the boat.
    If this is not done, the upright will likely snap off with fatigue in a couple of years with some rough weather.

    So apart from the paint peeling, the structural cracks, poor waterproofing, poor fuel system design and aesthetically poor welds, there's nothing wrong with it. So far. 👍 Thanks for your honest feedback as it helps those planning on purchasing a new rig. Think I might go for something other than chinese made. At least until they can prove they can build something of quality. Hope it continues to get you and the family out there and back.👍

    Looking at getting one myself. Have you had it out on many rough days yet and I so how does it hold out?.
    Any hints or tips for myself as a buyer?

    • @eastcoastfisher5457
      @eastcoastfisher5457  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Daniel,
      Yes l have been caught out in so rough conditions,the hull handles it not worries . The 24 degree dead rise cuts through well and the double chimes gives you great stability at rest . As for buying one just have a good look over it ,check all the welding Look down inside the transom inspection hatches check the welding in there too and the General fit and finish . They are a good solid boat you won’t be disappointed

    I have seen paint booths and whole boat is pressure washed and then final washed again with pure water with no salts in it then washed with a oxidation retardant which keeps it perfect untill primed. There is no better system.

    Do you keep this boat on the trailer ? Is the paint on the bottom considered a “bottom paint “ that you could leave in the water ? Just curious how much electrolysis would happen if it sat in salt water. Does it have aluminum anodes ? Did you consider any other alloys aside from 5083 (like 5086) ? Thanks !

    • @eastcoastfisher5457
      @eastcoastfisher5457  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes I keep this boat on a trailer,the bottom is not painted,if I was to leave it in the salt l would definitely put anodes on the hull as far as aluminium goes it all corrodes

      Hey, great review. I am seriously looking at one the same as yours. Trying to work out the extras etc. to get from factory. Will put the motor and elecs in here in OZ.
      Couple of questions: trailer, is this the one from China or sourced locally? I will be beach launching 95% of the time, so was considering a custom dropped axle when it arrives here.
      Trim tabs, are they from factory?
      Drivers seat - custom or factory
      Clears on the cab - are they factory? Haven’t seen the option in their pricing.
      Last one, can you take a pic of the anode? Have you replaced this?
      Cheers

    The welds that you believe are o.k. because they go in a straight line are just not good enough. They have tried to cover this with thick paint, carpet style trimmings and rubber type sea decking, and that`s the point-a cover up. Also the cracks don`t bode well for the structural integrity of the boat. Just pay the extra for peace of mind, if you can`t pay, don`t go boating. House made of straw remember!
