Happy Birthday 🎉 Wow!!! Awesome information! My husband & I just starting thinking about retiring early & slow traveling. Im having trouble wrapping my head around selling ALL of our stuff! HELP....
Wendi, We feel your pain. If you saw our video about minimalism, we spoke a bit about it in there and the way that Sarah was able to sell her stuff was to do it in stages rather than all at once, it made it easier for her for sure. We think that when you find that your desire for travel out weighs your enjoyment in your current lifestyle that the stuff around you just feels like it is holding you back. Get to that point and selling the stuff will be a breeze! Thanks so much for your lovely comment, it means so much to us. We are such a small channel that feedback really keeps us going :-) Best wishes Neil & Sarah
Hey Gretchen! That cat was over-confident (which cats are famous for). Absolutely gorgeous cat we loved her. Funnily enough, there were a couple of cats that lived close to our Airbnb and we made great friends with them too. We did comment that we felt the cat population in Stone were more confident than your average cat... it was like they ran the place, and we loved that :-) Neil & Sarah x
Just discovered you guys after a mention by Go With Less. My husband and I sold everything at the end of 2019 so we could travel the world. We got to Ecuador in early 2020 and got stuck there for 6 months lol. We look forward to following your adventures!
Hi Betsy, Oh wow that is cool that you did it too, there aren't that many of us out there I don't think! How was it being stuck in Ecuador? It looks a gorgeous country and somewhere we are looking forward to spending time. Thanks for watching our journey, hopefully we will get to see you when we are out in the world somewhere :-) Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam - we actually loved Ecuador. We could have flown back to the US but made the decision to stay put. It would be great to meet up with you guys!
Watched this episode with Dot and she really enjoyed it and found it useful, so you are appealing to all age ranges, from the youth like me, to 80 year olds. Just one question - why are you staying in a nursing home??
Hi Andrew, Firstly, don't let Dot watch the videos with you, she has to login and watch it on her own account to help with our watch time target! But we're pleased we are appealing to you youngsters and the more senior members of our community. The rates in that Nursing Home were particularly good and we had Bingo at 6pm each evening, so all good.
Really glad to have found you and love all your humour amongst the details.hope you are able to get away soon safely. Will follow your travels - you are very brave. Love seeing where you are just now in UK too. They are places we have never visited so they are giving us some ideas for staycations to come. Thank you.
Hi Angela, Thanks so much for your kind words! We love having fun in the videos more than anything, we hope it is entertaining to others too so that is lovely feedback to get. Well, for a staycation idea, hopefully you will love our next video coming out on Saturday, it is hands down our favourite one to have recorded and although we think that we'll get fewer views on this one as it is pretty specific in nature, we loved making it :-) Hope you enjoy coming on our journey with us around the world! Best wishes Neil & Sarah
Great update. Neil pouts very well when you take his toy away 😉. A pizza pan?!?! That must be some darn good pizza crust to be lugging that thing around the world.
Looks like you had a great time celebrating your birthday Sarah 🎂🎉 Packing cubes are the best and our favorite are the compression ones. Lots of great tips on what to pack, oh I did buy a shampoo bar Sarah that you suggested in your other video. I'm anxious to try it when we get back to Europe! Great video and thanks for sharing! ~ Debbie 💞
Hi Guys! We have actually learnt a big lesson with compression cubes. What we have always done with them is stuff them as full as they can get then I (Neil) spend half an hour trying to zip them tight so that they resemble a rock! Found that they are difficult to pack like that. So we now use the compression cubes but pack a little more sensibly and they respond so much better. We are slow learners :-) Interested to see what you think of that Shampoo bar, we really like it as it's so small and no issues with getting it through security at airports. Speak soon guys! Thanks as always for the comments! Neil & Sarah
You two are hilarious! I've love my packing cubes. I may have too many, but I have colored zip tags to remind me what's inside, so I'm not opening them all to find something. :)
This is one of our favorite topics to discuss! I'm interested to see the sizes of the suitcase you will be using. We are also looking to pack some exercise items and balls for massaging achy muscles and an extension cord. And if there is any extra space in Stan's bag, it will be claimed by me! Great video and an impressive 25k steps!
Hi Erin! We are finally getting something of a strategy for suitcases together, but until we are reunited with all our stuff which is at Sarah's mum's house, we won't know for sure if everything will fit. I have some resistance bands that I will be packing (helps with the shoulder injury), balls for massaging aches is a good idea. Do you have a link to what you will be using? Poor Stan! Sarah is just the same, she is like a magpie looking for space in my bags lol. Thanks as always for your positive comments, means the world to us! Neil & Sarah
I would be interested to know if you still carry with you the pizza tray and some of those other cooking items. We’ve chosen to go carry on only so have had to pack the bare necessities.
Hey Danielle! The pizza tray did not make the luggage at all! lol! We also decided against the kitchen knife and brought the sharpening block instead. That has proved to be very useful as we have used that in almost all of our AirBnB's :-) We have added a couple of other items such as a wooden spoon, a couple of small thin chopping boards and a plastic serving spoon which are all very light and have been useful. One of the things we have used most is the rubber plug hole cover!! Almost everywhere doesn't seem to have a plug in the bathroom sink and kitchen, so this has been amazing! Would definitely recommend! Well done on just going 'carry on', we will be very interested to see how you get on. Safe travels and best wishes Neil & Sarah
@@2GoRoam Thanks Neil and Sarah. Glad to hear the pizza tray stayed behind lol. The sharpening block is a good idea and isn’t it weird how some countries don’t use plugs in their sinks? Found that to be the case in the US too. Must waste a lot of water.
Hi Alison! I worked in Technology Resilience for a UK Bank and Sarah was a Project Manager in the Pharma industry. Pleased you are enjoying the videos :-) Best wishes Neil (& Sarah)
You walk Sarah in the rain and cold 10 miles while she’s running to keep up with your longer legs ON HER BIRTHDAY and she’s a diva? Oh yeah, and she had her hair done beforehand. Sarah is a goddess! This was helpful but it makes me a bit anxious for my own need to get my life squeezed into a few pieces of small luggage. At this rate, I’ll need to hire a valet to carry it all!
Amy - Don't add more fuel to Sarah's fire :-) I paid a price for that day, I can tell you :-) Haha a valet! Not sure how that will work with your budget! I think when you realise that you have to carry it, then it'll be easier to travel lighter :-) Well that is what I am telling Sarah.... Best wishes Neil & Sarah
Thank u TH-cam to finally bring me to u both. Been here a couple years. I don’t have children like u. But single. Didn’t want to attach myself to the wrong person. Because in the US u r attached for life or your Childs life until they are 18 can’t go over state lines or it is kidnapping of your own child. Sorry to bring up children if it is a sore spot for u. Well I don’t even have a partner in life like u both do. My question is. I realize i have no children like u to hold me back to travel. Any tips for me traveling as an older 57 female single traveler?
Please give more advice about older travelers in each country. Where are we Welcome and where are we not would be a Great Help and Love you Both. UR FUNNY 😄 God Bless💕💕💕💕💕
Valuable info! Not just for long-term travellers, but actually for every traveller. Resilience is key!
You 2 are lucky to have each other. Delightful couple.
Happy Birthday 🎉
