Just replaced a Winbond super I/O chip from an acer laptop (because it was the only chip on the board that was slightly heating up), with an also Winbond from an other (totally different) board, but with the same first 5-6 letters-numbers in the chip ID. and it worked....!!!
Also i fixed a similar HP with your way here, but i also tried to replace the mosfet with no luck. Seems like the mosfet is ok but it does not open. So the problem is deeper

The key words here , do what works for you in your situation. Obviously Sorin your way of doing things is working for you and your boss and importantly your customers. If it wasn't you would be out of a job. Customers complaining about a job not done right or the price is to high would eventually kill the business. Not everybody has deep pockets full of money. So you offer a affordable way to have something repaired. I believe your 7 years working there. The group of you guys must be doing something right. And you share your experience and knowledge and some not all who have shit there common sense out when they were babies will take the information provided and miss use it or bash it. Hope your feeling better. And thank you for taking the time to make and share you videos.

thanks, very useful, before disassemble the laptop first I check my charging port, not problem there, but when I check the charger, the middle pin is bending, so I make it straight again with needle carefully and it work...

SOLVED! My board LA-D702p rev3.0 (applies to other HP, Asus, etc. boards). For anybody having exactly the same issue, where your power mosfets are not turned on and you get something around 0.9V on the gates. 1st check if the MB works as Sorin's method (th-cam.com/video/-IrPWbA3i-o/w-d-xo.html). Than check the second MosFET, in my case it was "7506 AON7506. 30V N-Channel AlphaMOS" shorted and gives false feedback to the power FET driver namely BQ25A (TI bq24725A) so it won't turn on both of the main power mosFETs. Replaced it with another compatible N-chan fet 30V 12A and all works. Accepting RedBULL + Cola or else :D

tengo el mismo problema en una placa similar a esa una crl51 el drane del primer mosfet con 19v pero en el source me da 0v por lo que los demas mosfets tambien 0v asi que verifique el gate y esta bien, pero la resistencia de sensado me da continuidad en tierra ¿por que ? si no tiene que conectar a tierra. La continuidad a tierra paso hasta el drane del tercer mosfet pero no hasta el source asi que creo que el problema esta entre el segundo mosfet o en uno de los 3 capacitores que conectan con la resistencia de sensado, pero no se cual de todos son.

I have a hp 15 ra005nia that when plugged in light at the adapter area goes on but when switched on, the power light switches on temporarily and then off.
The first mosfet gate is often connected to a circuit to detect input voltage, if there is not enough voltage then it does not switch on the mosfet.
I now have to call you "The bypass man." :-D joking sorin :-D.

But in new laptops model like this when I make a bridge over the mosfet, everythings will work fine but the laptop will not charge the battery, so how can we fix the charging issue?
And even if I replace the mosfet, it still no power.
The mosfets replaced are the two at the start or different ones. Forgive my ignorance but I also have a bad flu and am finding it difficult to concentrate. What blew up at the start

i have hp pavilion 15 -cc055tx, it's led near dc jack not glowing, caps lock led also not blinking, but led on power button blink 2 times and off and again two times blinking, i reprogram the bios with programer but it not turning on

How do you know if a super io chip has bios in it or not?
Hi hopefully you are able to answer this because this video is from a while ago I have the exact same laptop only difference is I get power power light it turns on and everything at first it would stay on for some time with charger plugged in then completely turn off, but work completely fine on battery power, now pretty much as soon as you plug in charger it turns off.... To charge it I turn the laptop off and let it charge then turn on on battery power which works fine until dead .... Do think it's same problem as yours ?....
Additionally I have tested a new charger it did the same thing just not as quick so I'm sure the fault lies within, I also notice that the battery logo is moving up and down as it does when it displays charging shortly before it cuts out it stops moving but maintains a plugged in sign then completely cuts off, you did mention mofsets in the charger and board I'm wondering if it's sensing a short or failing resister ect and cutting power
Worth to check it with battery plugged in.
Sorry to bother you i have the same board that is dead same as here and i dont have external power source so i can inject power beyond this mosfet is there any other way to check if this mosfet is shorted. And if i Short this can i make more damage if it doesnt work?

Hi Sorin I have the same laptop but with a little different problem. The problem is that with the battery and the charger plug it in is not power on and blinking orange the indicator led. With the battery unplugged and only the charger is white indicator steady and no power on only the fan can see a little movement but nothing else. I have already measured 19 volts on 2nd mosfet and in current resistor in Vin. Can you please tell me what is possible to going wrong?
In this laptop can we use fan or heat sink ? It is possible or not
