I just got my rollers from etsy .. i gotta do the same thing… Cricut needs to find a solution because when I called they offered me $50 off a new machine… like no!!! If everyone is having these wheel issues figure something else out

Omg 😮 around the 4min mark you had me nervous. I was like OMG please let her remember where everything goes back to. As someone with a Cricut, I would be too scared to do it myself but I know once you put your mind to it, it can be done with the help of TH-cam University. OMGEEEE I love your DIY video. Your facial expressions and comments along the way are a hoot! I'm not so sure I'll be able to deal with this task as well as you did. Yessss, what was Cricut thinking?! I just replaced mine using this and a couple of other videos and it was awful. Not gonna lie.
I just changed mine. I almost gave up until I saw your video. I said if she can do it I can too 😂 It’s working now, but I think I touched a wire or something, cuz the lights aren’t coming on. But that’s fine , it’s cutting just like new 😅

Thanks for showing how to get the roller bar off. Other videos didn't show that part! I have a 3D printer and TPU so I should be able to replace them without further cost. :)

I have been thinking about doing mine and your video is the first one I've watched.... as soon as you started, I was like well ill be buying a new one....😂 -the last few seconds of the video was the only time I was like maybe I could try this.... 😥
I did this for my spouse's aunt. There were some foul language involved, but I think the most difficult part were the screws underneath the top of the casing. Not a lot of room for a tool. Found it easier to hold the screwdriver tip in the racket adaptor and twist it by hand.

SUCCESS!! So glad I found your video… I’m replacing my rubber rollers as I speak… got everything open and now dealing with getting the actual bar out the left side. Might have to watch this another time… 😂 UGH!! Wish me luck!!

I think I just wiggled it around. I didn’t get it all the way off. I pushed it far enough to get the other pieces off
how did you get the new rollers on? Mine are super hard like yours. I know you said you were going to heat them up, can you please elaborate?
Hey there. I didn’t end up heating them up I tried to put them in hot water but it didn’t work. So I just used a cloth to push it down and slide it on , I struggled a bit but I got it on.
The ones I bought said boiling hot water, but you could probably try a heat gun on low. PVA filament that a lot of 3D printers use are easy to heat up with a heat gun.
@@Lh2bme i ended up putting in boiling water..it literally took 5 minutes to get both on. I had wasted like 4 hours already trying to brute force then on 😆 my poor hands

I used some foam double sided adhesive tape and hot glued it in place. Then I pushed the little white thing with the grooves up beside where the rubber was replaced with the tape and hot glued it there. Worked great, cost $1, and I didn’t have to take apart the machine.

I have to replace my rollers too and I ordered them from Amazon and they cannot fit...I offered to send me a new set and they cannot fit...I order them from Ebay and they came in today same issue...how did you heat them up to get them to fit?😮
You have to warm them up in a cup of water for a couple of seconds! I hope they work for you
Hello, how did you get the wheel off the left side of the machine?
We took an exacto knife and shaved off the corners of the white piece to get the wheel off!
I’m honestly not sure. I did a whole lot of wiggling! & I don’t think I completely took the wheel off
Whats the worst part is unscrewing that top lid bc you need a small screw driver that can fit underneath, i used a small drill bit wraped in paper towel. THIS WAS SO FRUSTRATING. thank you for walking me through it.
How did you manage to get the 2nd bracket off with the tiny wheel in the way. I can't get the e clip off.
I'm curious about this as well...I somehow managed to get the big white wheel off but I can't get the other clip off to get the left side of the bar out
@@jenco7867 I managed this. So basically you will want to take the screws out of the white bracket in the front of the tiny wheel. This will be handy later. You'll need to shimmy the roller a bit but e clip will get a bit loose. If you push the bar towards it. Now once you pushed it to you, take a pliers or a very tiny flat head and put it in the clip. You'll notice it has a little gap close to the bar. Pop it off. May take a bit of patience. Once it's off, you may or may not be able to remove the clip. For me, I just loosened it and popped the bar out by shimmying it to the opposite side. Now you will need to use hot water to put the rollers on. I heated up a glass of water in the microwave and then soaked the rollers on the bar. It got soft after a minute and moved a bit easier. One thing I will say is that reassembly is a pain! You want to put the bar on the right then shimmy it into the housing. Readd both clips and then the e clips and then the springs. If you do the left spring first the e clip may not go back on. Also if you drop the e clip behind the tiny wheel don't panic. I did this. Simply get an extra helper to gently push the bottom of the housing and use some tiny tweezers to retrieve it. Then put it back on. Hope this helped.

Did the same thing and got it done. I will never do it again either. Too bad we got no help from cricut! I also took pics every time I had to remove anything so I could see where they were when I had to put it back together!

OK It has been just over a year since making this video.... how long did it hold up? Did it actually work? Thank you! I called Cricut and they offered me $50 toward a new Cricut! On a $400 machine that only comes with a 1 year warranty. Man, that is just wrong! I am so mad right now. Their functional obsolesces is going to fill our landfills faster than plastic...over a $10 pack of rubbers!! Shame on you Cricut!!!

"I would just buy a whole new one" that's what they want, those rollers should be metal or much harder rubber...but they design it to fail so you have to buy a new one...and you'll see on most of them that they fail after the warranty period, so you don't get new shit.

Either way it is a great video. You motivated and unmotivated me all in 1. Just cut one of my rollers off because it felt dry rotted then thought shit I probably shouldn't have don't that 😅
