TerrorBytes producer here! Just wanted to say it's cool that you mentioned Eternal Darkness as we've just brought in that games director to the cast of the doc. Keep making great videos dude!
Man that's sick! What an awesome lineup, I'm super hyped to see it when it's done. Eternal Darkness was a classic, the sanity effects to this day are some of the most unique things in a horror game and I'd say kinda inspired stuff like Amnesia. Thanks again for the kind words and reaching out to me. Keep up the good work also 😁
ANOTHER BANGER! Love the video dude, stream enjoyed immensely. One thing we wish was mentioned was Jedi Academy. Other than that small gripe, top tier my guy
It's flaw was the disc, Gamecube used Nintendo's own disc which were smaller and allegedly harder to put games on depending on size, so most AAA studios either ignored it or took longer to port their games to. Hence GameCube was looked at more for its 1st Party games, while other platforms got the attention for AAA games
Exactly it's sad, they did it as an anti piracy measure but it ended up crippling them hard. It did make almost every first party release on it absolute gold but yeah they were basically only at half power that generation lol
We must be on the same wave length I'm doing a thing on some gamecube stuff soon myself 😉. Think I was about 13 when I got my gamecube for a birthday and I'll never forget binging smash bros melee with my bro. Good stuff as always mate can see you went ham on this edit you legend ✊️
Ayyy what a person of culture I'll be eagerly awaiting that video my friend! I got one around 9 or 10 I think, and I believe the first game I got was Double Dash which me and my friends played and unlocked everything over the span of like 6 months it was so much fun. Thank you for the kind words buddy! I always enjoy making goofy edits and I hope to improve so I can do even more stuff lol
@captainmeaty_png I think I got double dash for that Xmas god I love that game. Me and my 2 best friends played that game religiously until drinking age 😂. Many a drunken night playing super monkey ball, double dash, Mario party 4 and super Mario strikers. You're coming up leaps and bounds mate keep at it 👍
my gamecube is one of two consoles i still own, i’ve had it since my mom got it for me in 2002. i was also lucky enough to get the gameboy player, which is a godsend especially nowdays when gameboys and gbas are harder and harder to come by. some of my favorite third party games that weren’t mentioned in the video is need for speed underground 2, and the spider man 2 game
Heck yeah! I still have mine as well thankfully, along with the 64 and PS2. And true they can be hard to come by and even if you do they're crazy expensive. Those were some classics too!
i didn't have one since the console is older than me. but i recently got one and it's been more fun than many modern consoles. got the gameboy player too since i found one in practically new condition for 200usd with the boot disk. have since added picoboot so i can keep all my games on one disk. definitely the favorite console in my colection :)
I was lucky enough to get one at launch (god I'm old) and thankfully never got rid of it. You really scored on that! Stuff from that era generally runs on the pricy side so I'd say that's kind of a steal and it does my heart good to see someone appreciating the gamecube so much :). There's a lot of games I'd like to get for collection sake eventually but I have a lot of the staples for now
I dunno how they did it but they managed to make banger after banger for that console I 100% agree. Those are up there as some of my favorites of the series
I hope it gets better my friend I'm glad I could help a little! I'm doing decent, a little tired but I only gotta make it through a few days of work and I get some time to relax a bit and catch up on some gaming. Hang in there buddy
Mostly catching up on some single player games and some Zomboid with the homies. I was debating picking up helldivers since a few of my friends have been playing and it looks like loads of fun with friends. The backlog list is endless I swear lol
@@captainmeaty_png I'd totally recommend and i get the backlog thing lol mines as long as a CVS receipt. As far as the gamecube goes there was a tie in game for the Cartoon Network Teen Titans show that I absolutely adored as a kid. Super Mario Sunshine also went insanely hard.
I think it definitely got more appreciation over the years, based on the general consensus online and the frankly ridiculous price of it nowadays as a collectors item, people have warmed up to it over time.
If it wasn't for all these millions or thousands of yt channels I set subscribing notifications to come on every time in the day, night, or anywhere without any time to rest, check out, or forget then I woikd never be able to remember any of these channels 😀😄☺️👌 god bless youtube 🤗🤗🤗
The N64 may have been the beginning of a new era, but the Gamecube really pushed boundaries. Some titles I've owned on both PS2 and Gamecube, and they just look and feel superior on the Gamecube imo. Also, lets not kid ourselves, the Wii is just a Gamecube with fancier controllers. The Gamecube sold 100M+ 🤫
Exactly! Yeah the 64 was revolutionary just due to it being one of the first 3D platforms but the GameCube just went wild with everything. I also was lucky enough to own both a PS2 and a GameCube and man if that wasn't the glory days of gaming imo but I do think most games look better on GameCube. It kinda is basically a slightly upgraded gamecube with motion controls lol.
Ayyyy you know how it is, yeah as much as I loved the other consoles I had, the GameCube just had that feeling about it that others couldn't quite capture
1:50 Haha funny meme image I saw on some random discord. Then the next being something I can only describe to god why that got me feeling some type of way... I need therapy.
Trueeeee 😂 I check sometimes at the local shop that sells games and oh boy are most of the games like 80+ nowadays. When I was doing research for this video I came across a lot of ads in old magazines and they were selling them for anywhere between 15-50 it's nuts
i did in the beginning actually I just didn't go super into detail about it tho 😕. which is sad cause that game was pretty goated. But if I went into detail for every great game on it we'd all be here the whole day and vid would be like 4 hours lol

Twilight princess was a blast on the gamecube, as was windwaker. What a great console this was.

"The GOATCube" - Captain Meaty 2024
GOATcube is my favorite console
Seems like it would be over rated console due to so many fans of it online nowadays
I think it definitely got more appreciation over the years, based on the general consensus online and the frankly ridiculous price of it nowadays as a collectors item, people have warmed up to it over time.
Heck ya, GameCube was my first console. I still have the thing💙
Hey me too! I still bust it out from time to time just cause the library of games was fantastic and I need that occasional hit of nostalgia 😁

Most def was a GameCube kid. Like you it wasn’t my first console but it probably had the biggest impact
