Project Zomboid Review: Eat Beans™, Get Depression©
One of my favorite childhood games. I could never finish it without a friend's help but I LOVED it.
One of my favorites for sure too! I always got stuck after the power went out when I was little but eventually (around middle school) I finally figured it out and it's become a yearly staple for me since
Also based profile picture, Dead Money is the best DLC
Great video man! :) Really enjoyed it, good picks all around for the topics. RE7 might be the scariest game ever made IMO, the first half especially. The early segment where you watch the tape of the urban explorer guys getting killed off, and then you have to follow their exact path as Ethan... That had me so on edge, in a way no other medium than video games can replicate. It has a few great moments like that. YOU have to face the horror or else the story won't happen. Can't close your eyes or hide behind a pillow in the Baker house, fucko. This somewhat applies to all horror games of course, but there's just something special about how RE7 capitalizes on its format to create unbearable tension and always makes you dread taking the next step.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me, I tried something a little different and wasn't sure how it was gonna go so I appreciate the kind words and the awesome input! I absolutely agree (and apparently so did CAPCOM) I read somewhere that they even thought the game was too scary which is why they toned it down in 8. But yeah it's got a special place in my heart as my fav in the series because of the atmosphere of it and just how well done all the horror was, like you said it does always make you dread taking the next step. I don't think many other games capture that quite as well.
Feels like TH-cam was hiding this from me :/ Great like always buddy and early congrats on 5k <3
The algorithm is definitely working as intended lol. Thanks so much my friend I really appreciate your kind words as always <3. Next goal is 10k here's hoping we can only go up from here
Hey dude, great video. Keep up the good work and you'll start gaining some traction. Best of luck.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Here's hoping the almighty TH-cam algorithm does its job lol.
the quality of this video made me think it was a Nick Crowley video! amazing work man, earned a sub!
Thanks so much! That's quite the high praise so I definitely appreciate it. Thank you so much for the support!
Bro your humour and editing are top notch! Really glad I found you, keep up the good work, I really enjoy listening to your rambling a lot!
Thank you so much! That really means a ton to me and I'm really glad you liked it! I've been trying to steadily improve each video so I'm glad to hear the editing, writing, and overall quality sounds good.
Good video
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
my boy is branching out let's goooooo.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Thanks for the support homie 😁
I enjoyed you talking about movies along side the games. I would be interested in you doing it again for sure. Keep up the good work homie <3
Thanks so much my friend! I love talking about spooky media in general so I'm down to do more of it but I feel like I need to improve it a bit ya know?
I enjoyed this! And yes, I'd watch more movie related content for sure!
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear it! I think I've got a lot to work on when talking about media that isn't video games but I appreciate it
I always love the editing too! 🥺💖👉👈
Thank you so much <3 I think I'm finally getting it down to where I can edit quickly and still make it look okay 😁
The quality of the videos is always so amazing, and I love the mask, man! Great content, keep it up! 🤩<3
Thank you so much my friend <3 I certainly try. This one was a bit of a rush job but I think it still came out okay! I was worried about how I'd do talking about movies honestly but I think overall it could have been worse lol
While I'm happy adoring fan made a reemergence, I can't help but feel his insertion into Starfield feels forced.
What did you expect, they literally wrote Shitfield as "Skyrim, but SPACE" given the whole "Starborn" premise, yet your protagonist wasn't born from a hot molting ball of plasma, or at least had the soul of a star?
The most unexpected time for me to be locked in again... If the voice sounds normal then it's all worth the risk to go check it out. Tell no one I love them 😎👌 LEEEROOOOYYY JEEENNNNKKIIINNNSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LEROYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. What a classic heck yeah buddy
cry of fear is a must on this list
Yes! absolutely great example!
Making a boring game is worse than making a bad game. At least a bad game is memorable. How many people remember Gollum over Merceneries 2
You take that back. Mercenaries 2 wasn't bad.
The current meta is basically engines and handtraps. The Duel Triangle right now is very fun because people are using loaner decks and not the engine/handtrap meta deck. I managed to get a lot of comeback victory thanks to the event.
Well at least that's still mostly unchanged, gotta run at least 15 non engine and be able to combo off with one card to be meta. Honestly i like loaner deck kinda stuff. Much like a limited format it makes you get creative with what you're given which I just think is fun
i didn’t forget about you bro i’m sorry :( I’m on vacation rn but fantastic video as always my friend. As a younger brother myself Luigi has always been my favorite out of the Mario brothers and his games have always enamored me for how different they are from Mario’s games. big love from cali homie <3
AW HOW FUN! Hope the vacation is going good homie, enjoy! Appreciate the love and I'm glad you liked the video! And that's fair I feel like being the less outgoing one really gives Luigi more personality even if it's quiet.
I hope luigi is harmed
i love this game and video
Thanks so much I really appreciate it and am glad you liked it! It's one of my favorite games for sure
@@captainmeaty_png same for me~ LM 1 is perfect in pacing and length i feel~
Holy fuck I just watched like 8 videos while doing stuff for the day, ur channel is amazing, I’m so glad I found u 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This really means a lot to me thank you! I'm really glad you're enjoying my videos
WHY didn't Nintendo do an HD release of this along with Luigi's Mansion 2? Would have been great to go alongside the Pikmin 1+2 release.
Right? Honestly that would have made so much more sense but given the way Nintendo has operated in recent years they'll probably sit on it for a few years then charge full price for it unfortunately. As good as this game is though I'd still probably buy it lol
@@captainmeaty_png Same, also, good vid as always bro
The game used to freak me out so much as a kid, but I always loved Professor E. Gadd's Lab theme ~ It was so good that I'd often just idle in the room and let the song play on repeat, good times 😤
ME TOO ACTUALLY. It's quite the jam. And yeah dude I'd say it's the only one in the series that retains some spooky elements. While they're all good I think this one just feels the most spooky and I love the aesthetic
My go to is always Gregory Horror Show, Onimusha 2 or ya know Luigi's Mansion. Great work on the vid as always meaty you legend editing is getting smoother with every vid. And the gamecube controller is the most comfy controller ever I play every Switch game with it ha
Onimusha is a classic! Never played Gregory but I'll have to look into it. Thank you my friend! Definitely trying to get better! And heck yeah when the roommates and I bust the switch out for game nights I only use that controller for games
My favorite horror game is Bugsnax
It truly is a horrible game I'm afraid
Mine is Night at the museum 2 battle at the smithsonian on the DS
Yeah, I definitely did not expect this upload randomly from someone I haven't seen in awhile... I'M LOCKED IN AND YOU CAN'T HOLD ME.
OH YEAH WE LOCKED IN LETS GOOOOOOOOOO.
8:00 New Vegas was make by Obsidian. So dialogs was on different level.
They should honestly just give Obsidian the Fallout IP back let them handle it
@@captainmeaty_png yes, and they rly try.
Sure 3D has had it's hiccups, but it was a logical step for the franchise to jump to. but if there is 1 thing i can say was a positive, it was the removal of HM's from gen 7 onward, I was so happy they where removed because of how annoying they where and incentivized needing a mon you'd have to withdraw solely for the HM's you never wanted to have on your main team (Sinnoh by far was the worst offender). So i'm glad those are gone and STAY gone.
It makes sense for sure, and the first couple games are gonna have their growing pains but I'm hoping it'll be better as the series goes on. There's been quite a bit of quality of life improvements made to the game formula which I appreciate and the concept of a nice looking 3D open world game sounds great but I definitely think they need to take their time with them more
Honestly, I was one of the minority who didn't hate Starfield at first. I had lots of fun with the main story and the side guilds. However, when I completed it I was so unhappy with the ending of going into a alternate universe and doing it all over again that I stopped the minute I beat it. I think that does say a lot about it's exploration and mechanics, I just didn't want to deal with it anymore for no payoff.
I severly miss Fupachu ngl
Agreed it was a silly design but I loved it!
Sad state or not these guys still made boat loads of money. And will continue to do so.
I wouldn't have minded too much if Game Freak _did_ reuse assets from older games. It's because they said they wouldn't, but did so anyway, that they damaged the trust between them & the fans. Ideally, but probably not possible, I'd love for them to reuse models & animations from the Hoenn Pokémon from *Colosseum/XD* & the Sinnoh Pokémon from *Revolution* so they can save a bit of time to create new assets for the newer gen Pokémon as well as revamping the older *Stadium* models, while keeping the animations. Of course, I could only dream.
It's super common to do and it does save a lot of time and effort but don't lie about it lol. If there's nothing wrong with the assets don't fix them I suppose but that's only if they're good to begin with
TBH I really liked the water levels in the original Super Mario because of the music :D But I agree the actual game play wasn't as fun.
I agree honestly the music was fun and I actually really like the visuals. But yeah the gameplay is too floaty for my liking personally
just go play fallout new vegas and fallout 3 it will work out better than the new game
Surfing around in pokemon is super underrated used to do that a lot as a kid and of course wind waker... I mean you had to go in the water a bit too much but it's gorgeous. And I do love fishing in stardew valley the ambience gets me every time. Sorry I took so long to get to this one meaty my brother keep going ✊️
And I forgot about Ecco The Dolphin that would of been perfect for the intro section whole game is underwater. I could never figure that game out as a kid so I'd just swim around as the Dolphin and marvel at the graphics
Ah those are some great examples yeah how could I forget those! All good man hope you liked the video! And true I never really "got" that game per say but it does fit the theme pretty good
@@captainmeaty_png of course i did man was great as always, made me wanna get my arse into gear with a new vid ha
I for one will be eagerly awaiting your next drop!
@@captainmeaty_png i was all ready to go then i lost my voice a bit doing karaoke with this girl i've been seeing ha
so… its been nearly a year and all theyve added is buggies 👍 i mean theres some patches n stuff but thats about it. they have a dlc coming soon but with every single game prior they would’ve released several dlc’s and small free content updates. i want this game to succeed it has tons of potential but christ its looking grim.
I love you captain meaty! I never thought someone could replace my father as the authority figure in my mind and I will now throw out the old one 🎉
Complete with the dad jokes and all!
I just finished getting 100% in the Lego Movie videogame and it has a water level that is next level shitty. It's way too open for how slow you move, it has air that you have to collect(despite playing as a character in an astronaut suit with an air tank and helmet) and despite how much I love DKC 1/2 and the vibes of their water levels, bonuses being past seemingly solid walls/floors/ceilings pisses me off and it's everywhere in this level too. Also it was purely 2D which is interesting for a Lego game which are known for their 3D environments. Crash 3's were also in 2D but I think that was a good call given when it was made. I generally shit on them but I think that's just because the rest of the game is so good. The water levels are still good in their own right.
That's a great take honestly. I think some of them are really only considered bad when compared to the rest of the game which is generally much better made. I'll have to look into the Lego Movie game they were on sale not long ago and they had pretty good reviews
Water levels suck but sm64 was the best
Generally yeah they do but I loved that one. Its not my favorite from that game but jolly roger bay was pretty fun!
Man, I hate the ocean. I remember playing GTA San Andreas and flying in a plane and just seeing the ocean below scared me.
I think games like that do a great job at making you feel really really small when looking at oceans that always kinda spooked me
I used to just sail around on sea of thieves looking for battle with my friends and shooting the shit and the water/views in that game just made it such a good experience. I also just 100% DREDGE cause of the new DLC drop and I can't stop thinking about how beautiful the water is in that game even though it is a lower poly artstlyle. I took wayyyy too many screenshots. Great video "meatman" lol <3
Sea of Thieves is actually so fun in that way, you never know what kind of hijinks you'll get into lol. Ayyyyy lets gooooo. I actually love the aesthetics of that game. I'm tossing around the idea of getting the DLC's myself. Hope you're well my friend
I've always kinda liked the Water Temple, but I had a guide book as a kid. Surely some other people like it?
Hey I had a guide book too actually. I believe it was an official Nintendo one I picked up at a garage sale or something. But yeah most people don't care for it. I personally think the Great Bay Temple was a bit more challenging from Majora myself but I don't hear as much about that one
As a developer, nailing water movement is really tough. Water is super complex-it’s always flowing, reacting to wind, objects, changes in the environment etc. Getting those waves, ripples, and interactions to look right takes a lot of detailed physics and math behind the scenes. Plus, it has to run smoothly on different hardware, which makes it even harder to balance realism with performance. Then ask me to make the movement and camera feel right and I'm throwing the towel xD
Upmost respect to you friend. There seems to be so many variables at play there it sounds like a nightmare. I know a bit of programming myself but I never tinkered with making water it really sounds like a headache from what you described though.
I’m in the “Eh, they’re fine I guess” camp except for 2d sonic. If there’s fishing in the game I’m playing, you bet I’m spending hours on it. Something about my brain and satisfaction on grinding and fishing just clicks.
Me too! That's how a gauge if a game is good, if it has a fishing minigame. I also don't know what it is but stuff like that as simple as they are usually is just really fun and relaxing to me.
Elder scrolls 6 is all they had to do
Honestly Bethesda fans you're an abusive relationship. Over and over again Todd proves he doesn't love you and over and over again you keep going back to him.
76 was a mistake. Starfield should have been the mmo.
Subadubdubed
Honestly having gone back and played Oblivion recently, the writing was on the wall back then sadly... FO3 was good, then Obsidian made FONV into one of the greatest games ever. Skyrim was pretty boring for an Elder Scrolls for me personally. But I had to just stop playing Oblivion cos it's really obvious how much stuff they just didn't finish. How many places have you found look like they should have a purpose but it's just 5 NPCs on empty houses all with the same dialogue options? They're everywhere. And the game is piss easy too. I guess that's just come with time as gamers have become better, but still it's basically a sandbox adventure with a tonne of missing pieces
Despite its flaws, 2D Pokemon was an era that just brought the whimsical nature of Pokemon, especially Gen 4 with Platinum & HGSS. And Gen 5? That was the best of the 2D era period and had this sensation of really understanding what the Pokemon world was all about with more of a stake in the game with Part 1 and more of the battling and exploration in Part 2. Something I wish Pokemon Company can let Game Freak do again with the 3D games, which I'm hopeful is happening with Legends ZA since Legends Arceus planted the foundation for it to happen.
