Jyun Joon is a legend in south korea and they gut a HUGE bboy scene over there, so thats no small deal to be that famous like he is. He is definately one of the best guys worldwide. So... NO- he would not get eaten in a contest. Salah might win vs. Hyun Joon in a battle since Salah has specialized on battles and is very into it.. but regarding solo performances they are kinda equal, i`d say Hyun Joon is even a tick better.
I think that in terms of skill sets poppin j and NHJ have different ones. HJ is by far the best glider i've seen and he's also a better tutter. He's much more versatile than poppin j IMO. Dont get me wrong, j is good and might be a better popper and gets more cred in the popping world. but in terms of being entertaining and a versatile performer, NHJ has it hands down. thats why he's my favorite dancer. also, if u read his back story its only natural for him to dance the way he does.

Furthermore, there is another video of hyun joon's only battle, in which he ultimately loses. If you want to say hyun joon is the best, do some research and get your facts straight.

Speaking of battles for NHJ: He doesnt like battling, he loves DANCING and NHJ chooses his path on being a dancer for PERFORMANCES. Winner in battles doesnt necessary mean he is better: It can also mean one can kiss the judge ass better. Hell if I'm the judge i can say my grandma win the competition overall! I believe most dancer will prefer having the crowd voting for them than having just the judge voting for them.NHJ did NOT fail as a dancer ffs. Take a good look around before hating him!

If Hyun Joon is so good, why doesn't he ever make it to the large events, like BBoy Summit, UK BBoy Championships, Old School Night, How Tha West Was Won, etc.? joon is only bad at battling because he rarely does it he is a performer and does a lot of choreographed performances I am sure if joon just started battling more he would get good at it quick because he is capable of a lot of things that would make the crowd go crazy !!
Also, who cares if someone "only" bites moves on-stage and not in a battle?! They're still biting moves and that's still wack. And the battles are REALLY what matter--stage performances are cool, but someone's REAL skill level comes out when they have to face someone else in a circle.

whats obvious was that I put I'm from Los Angeles and yeah it's also obvious Korean's live in Los Angles. And whats wrong with Asian commercialized hip hop etc etc dancing anyway ? well there are two types of popping...popping as in the old school 1980s with the pop n lock, and movement of foot...the poppint I'm referring to that Hyun Joon (in my opinion) does not carry it out well is the hitting...the sudden flexing of your muscles type popping...not the dance category of popping...and no, Nam does not hit worth a dime dude and I am entitled to my opinion as you are to yours = )

Joon is good. Top five I'd say but he couldn't touch the top 3. To say that David Elsewhere can't dance and that "all he does is liquid," is completely one-sided fanboyism, and stupid. TH-cam his Volkswagen Golf GTI commercial for a great example. actually i think hes got worse over time. i lost much respect for him since he changed classes to avoid salah at the korean freestyle session in 05'. utlimately Kin made sure he doesnt ever show up for a battle again. Alas, we all know what salah did to kin the year before. Anyway all three of them are much better than i could ever be so "shrug"

david elsewhere and nam are completly different styles of poppin, and both are unreal, but for the most part elsewhere has his own unique style that nobody could bite..Nhj more the regular popper, salah is not in the same league as these 2..

whats obvious was that I put I'm from Los Angeles and yeah it's also obvious Korean's live in Los Angles. And whats wrong with Asian commercialized hip hop etc etc dancing anyway ? Thanks to guys like E Joe and many other African Americans dance instructors Their are many good Asians that dance that commercialized looking dancing and enjoying the hell out of it. It's good for everybody dance weather it looks commercialized or not. Dance is happiness.

he can pull off both choreo and dancing
also, practice makes perfect right? the stuff you learn from choreo can make you a better dancer overall
what makes hyun joon so good is his speed and accuracy in hitting the beats
his dancing matches the music's rhythm, melody, and beats

well there are two types of popping...popping as in the old school 1980s with the pop n lock, and movement of foot...the poppint I'm referring to that Hyun Joon (in my opinion) does not carry it out well is the hitting...the sudden flexing of your muscles type popping...not the dance category of popping...and no, Nam does not hit worth a dime dude and I am entitled to my opinion as you are to yours = )

Again..I think he's great, but like a lot of people who watch these vids, and are good poppers; everyone is a carbon copy..everyone had their own moves back in the day..and proved how good they were in the streets. That's why Wigs, Buddha Stretch, Fabel, the EBs are legends..they battled to be the best then and now.

Know I just think the moves in this video look like MJ's popping in the 96-97 MJ History Tour that's all. I give him credit for doing his own thing as well. Not to sound like a hater or anything because he's definitely awesome, but his dancing just looks like Michael Jackson's on fast forward. Hyun Joon probably knows so himself. I'm sure he's watched MJs popping too. And for all of you that say MJ don't pop do know that Boogaloo Shrimp taught MJ a lot of things. Hyun Joon is sick though, I will give him his credit the boy can move.

To say that David Elsewhere can't dance and that "all he does is liquid," is completely one-sided fanboyism, and stupid. TH-cam his Volkswagen Golf GTI commercial for a great example. His dancing almost resembles Hyun Joon in that video. I don't doubt that Hyun Joon is a much better dancer, but to say that Elsewhere can't dance is horse shit.
actually i think hes got worse over time. i lost much respect for him since he changed classes to avoid salah at the korean freestyle session in 05'. utlimately Kin made sure he doesnt ever show up for a battle again. Alas, we all know what salah did to kin the year before. Anyway all three of them are much better than i could ever be so "shrug"
@choppa187city Salah is another fantastic popper, but he's another "performer", so to say. He uses a lot of "tricks", and those are boring. He battled some folks, but had his ass handed to him a couple of times. This is the difference between performers and hardcore battlers.

david elsewhere and nam are completly different styles of poppin, and both are unreal, but for the most part elsewhere has his own unique style that nobody could bite..Nhj more the regular popper, salah is not in the same league as these 2..

If you notice, david elsewhere doesnt flow with his songs nor does his moves follow the beat, he just does all those moves but with no point. Hyun Joon studies his music, and synchronizes with it.

Go to style2ouf and look up some Bionic Man vids....He's way cleaner when it come to poppin'. That guy is just a good all-around dancer but i woundn't place him at the best in any area.
