I live in Montana. You can’t skip glacier park. Try later in the season, after Labor Day is best. Going to the sun road is priceless but wait for construction to be done. Cheers!
My old trailer came with heated mattress covers. Best thing ever on cold nights - I find they’re better than heated blankets because the heat comes from below, and stops any cold from seeping up through the bed. I hope you stay warm as you head north!
I was so stoked to finally make it to Deadwood myself in 2023. My grandmother was born in Deadwood in 1903. Her mother had to ride a stagecoach from the farm in North Dakota to come to Deadwood to have all of her children because that’s where the closest doctor was. My grandmother’s older siblings that didn’t live very long are actually buried up in the Mount Moriah cemetery just down from Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.
If the two of you are home this summer, we have a rodeo in Ellicottville NY (think holiday valley and holimont ski resorts) on June 29 & 30, July 1 & 2 and another in Gerry (Gary) NY in 1st weekend in August. Glad your enjoying your trip so far. I had a day trip through deadwood several years back, I’d love to return with more of a plan. Missoula is my favorite big city in Montana. Tal, you rocked the hats! Maddy wasn’t up for playing cowgirl I guess? Check the fuel screen on you’re heater, if it hasn’t been used in awhile they tend to varnish closed. A little spring maintenance goes a long way in the fall. GOD Speed
What a great adventure for y’all!! I love Deadwood and have been there a number of times. Funny story, my brother spent a couple of summers portraying Wild Bill at the Number 10 Saloon. On one occasion, my parents were visiting and, unbeknownst to my brother, the staff dressed up my mom in period clothes and when Wild Bill got shot, my mom came running out yelling “they shot my son!” Totally caught him by surprise! 😂😂😂
Hey David! This might be our favourite comment. Tal is very appreciative of your appreciation for her appreciation of garlic haha. Thanks for watching!!
@@talandmads please share with her that I'm getting one of those garlic thingies for when I go motorcycle camping. I'm the guy who brings a mini blender to have fresh salsa and margaritas. Now I can have great garlic.
Somebody who lives in the states, which is Alaska there’s a lot of things to do. The better time to go is in the summertime because you can go and so many hike so many to tourists things. Somebody who has lived here for 25 years I haven’t even seen majority of the state. I really hope you enjoy your trip to Alaska and so I’m at all. Enjoy the great beautiful state. Love you. Also from one Australian Shepherd to one another.
Hi ya'll. I live in upstate NY around an hour from Canada. I have spent quite a lot of time in Canada and have always found the Canadians to be extremely friendly and welcoming . I am glad to hear that you have the Americans that you have met are the same. Enjoy your trip.
I am wild. I live in the West. I am an American (although, a rare veggie-meditating one). And I never have been, and never will go, to a rodeo. But, I am glad you were treated nicely, PHEW! ....Have a fabulous trip women!
Hey!! Veggies & meditating - sounds like we have things in common! It's safe to say, we won't be going back to another rodeo...so now we'll have even more in common! Thanks for watching :)
I love how you guys just shine and persevere not matter what. You got to see some extremely beautiful country and experience what America used to be like. I have driven through a lot of the same area before and it was amazing. Hopefully you get that heater fixed before Alaska! Be safe and I will be looking forward to your next sharing.
Both my parents were from Montana, Helena and Butte... so we visited alot from Seattle. My Dad was given s dog. looks just like Bowie, and a short cute story from long ago. The dog and my Dad were such a perfect match that Tags owners left Tag with my Dad when they moved, my Dad had lost his father and maybe they felt sorry for him but... one day when my Dad was walking home from school he saw Tag waiting at the front of the store. He went in to help his Mom walk back with groceries but she had been there in the morning and was long gone. He took Tag home with him and his Mom. Grandma, had wondered where Tag had been all day. They finally realized that Grandma and Tag had walked to the store, she went into the store from the front door and left by the side door.and Tag had waited for her all day out by the front. Butte, small town in the 1920's , true story. You two have a great adventure. My husband and I traveled up to Alaska in our '67 Volkswagen camper and met up with my parents in Watson Lake. They too had a small camper and we traveled from the Yukpn up to Fairbanks, Denali and down to Seward and along the coast it was late summer and wonderful. our trip was 8-8-88 to 9-9-88 we just took time off and they were retired and had more time. We fished and camped and toured.... reminded me of our many trips as a kid back to Montana and Yellowstone camping.
So enjoyed your video!! Was excited when you mentioned South Dakota, I grew up here in the Black Hills area. Deadwood has so much History and is fun in the summer, with street dances/ concerts/ shootouts. Glad you enjoyed the Wild West . I agree that the people here are kind and helpful. 😊 Usually! Lol
Hey Debbie! Thanks so much for watching! We're so happy you enjoyed our video! The Black Hills area is beautiful and I can imagine Deadwood is even more fun in the summer months. We hope you have a great week!!
Highly recommend getting a heated blanket. They take less electricity to run and are super helpful. We just did this drive and the electric blanket saved me. 👍🏼
Glad to see your US travels went relatively smoothly, minus the cold. Welcome back to Canada! DIp over into Southern BC if you'd like a little warmth before heading north, we have 20+C this weekend! I'm excited to see your trip ahead. Have lots of fun.
Good Sunday morning Tai & Mads. Glad to see both of you are doing so well - bubbly and enthusiastic. That avocado salad looks absolutely delicious - the perfect way to start your journey for the day and enjoy the best the American Wild West has to offer. That being said, thanks so much for another look at your wonderful life living and camping in all the best and most scenic places this country has to offer - you wonderful and multi-talented offgrid women. 💖💖🌻🌹
Deadwood looks really fun! Ugh sorry about the diesel heater, but I’m so happy that little heater did the trick. Have fun and stay safe!! I’m looking forward to next week!!!! ❤
You made me smile. You never fail to make me smile. I love Jenni Kayne. I have a couple of pieces and will be getting more. Maybe sooner than I thought, thanks to your code. WooHoo! I love you both. 🌈🧡💚💛💖💙💜💋
When I visited Texas my partner bought us tickets to a rodeo and I thought it would be fun. I was so uncomfortable seeing baby animals being lassoed and thrown to the ground so aggressively. I didn’t realized it was going to be like that when I went in but now I know and I most def won’t be going to another rodeo. Loving your adventures ladies❤️
I had to go back and binge the rest of your Alaska series so far! Wow what an exciting road trip! I definitely need to check out that giant truck stop in Iowa when I can afford to hit the road!!
Love your sticker have to get some of these and put around Vancouver Island ,BC they are cool. Yes you two don't need to see snow after heater failure. glad you got a heater though. 🥰🥰 Rodeos are so cool to.
Our diesel heater stopped working when we were driving from Washington State to New Mexico in the middle of winter two years ago. Our doggies’ water was frozen in their bowl. It made me want to never drive up north again during the cold winter months.(finding camping spots was also very difficult during winter)
But...the Calgary Stampede is one of the biggest and best rodeo's around. It's on my bucket list for sure! BTW, I'm heading to Toronto for the first time in a couple weeks! Go Blue Jays!!!!
Great video as always guys. Those diesel heaters are so easy to fix, obviously too late for this trip but order yourselves a pack of spares (comes with all the gaskets filters etc), lots of YT videos on the repair process, took me just over half an hour to do mine. Can't wait for the next part of your trip. Have fun!!
Hey Kev! Thanks for the advice! This is definitely a learning process haha! We hope you have a great week :) Can't wait to share the next leg of our journey with you!
I think we were at the exact ice cream place in Missoula. Did you get the huckleberry ice cream..so delish? I also bought huckleberry dessert topping but haven't tried it yet
One of these days you need to come to sunny San Diego!! Brrrrrr Snow, Alaska with no heater. Hopefully, the electric one keeps working. Stay safe, healthy, and warm. Lovvvvve ❤️ ❤️ your cheery outlook on life. It gives me good vibes for my changes in my life that can be possible. YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE, LAUGH AND FEEL YOUR POSITIVE ENERGY!! I love you both and haven't ever met you two❤❤😊😊

I had the same thing with the diesel heater. I added diesel conditioner in the fuel tank and reset the heater and everything works great. Also, I bought a buddy heater Walmart and was broke, or left me with the appearance of being broke. It’s a beast.
Hello Girls 🤗 Amazing new video, Deadwood looks like an old Westerntown in a movie on Sunday afternoon, lovely. The heating thing sucks, is the electric heating enough? Anyway, have a good time and a great adventure, loving greetings from Andreas and Balou ❤
A nurse once told me that feet smell cause we wear s lot of products with antiperspirant prooerties. She suggested switching to clean deodorant only, a gamr changer. I love Native snd Almond and Aloe. It works!
What whiskey did you try????? If you ever make it to the Dallas area you have to stop by and be on the show. We can talk travels and whiskey which we both have in common! Love your show
Wow! That was quite the adventure ladies! Looks like you really enjoyed it. I've never been out west. Maybe one day. I spend most of my time in New England. I'd love to see a rodeo. Don't you just love cowgirls? Haha 😂 you pick out really nice clothes and that green plaid shirt looks really good on Tal... just saying ❤. As always. Thanks for making me smile. Happy Sunday. Have a great week 😊❤
Deadwood reminded me of Victor, Colorado - except Victor is a ghost town and much smaller than Deadwood. Still, there is a lot to explore, especially if you're liking that Gold Rush esthetic. (Did you see any Pony Express signs on your drive through South Dakota?) I really hope you two (and Bowie) get the heater fixed before you get to Denali!!
I'd be very uncomfortable with the rodeo too. All my art supports animals so, not my thing. But it's cool to experience different cultures. Great video! Have a blast in Alaska
If you stay south & make your way through the Vancouver area, have some suggestions for rv repair & van conversion folks that might be able to help with your diesel heater. And, no lie, would love to meet you & Bowie 🌈 🚗 🧍♂️ 🐶 🏳️🌈

It's amazing how many vanlifers/rvers have trouble with those Chinese diesel heaters.
They are definitely not as reliable as the Webasto or Espar, but for the price difference, it’s hard not to just get one and replace it when it konks
If you ever get the chance - try to get back to Glacier National Park around July. It is an AMAZING place. Thanks for taking us along with you!

We use electric blankets in our van, as our electric system can't handle much and we don't have a diesel heater. Just something to keep in mind. :)
Hey! Thanks for watching! We should definitely invest in a few of those - great suggestion :)
Deadwood was a great HBO series.
We heard about it while there! We'll have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
Deadwood reminded me of Victor, Colorado - except Victor is a ghost town and much smaller than Deadwood.
Still, there is a lot to explore, especially if you're liking that Gold Rush esthetic.
(Did you see any Pony Express signs on your drive through South Dakota?)
I really hope you two (and Bowie) get the heater fixed before you get to Denali!!
Check out the hat brims at the rodeo
Was deadwood a television series?
Cowboy hats are cool! Gotta find the right one.
I need an invite to those delicious garlicky meals!!
You’re INVITED!
OMG I want one of your stickers..My car is covered in stickers from all over!🌎
I'd be very uncomfortable with the rodeo too. All my art supports animals so, not my thing. But it's cool to experience different cultures. Great video! Have a blast in Alaska

Absolutely love the Jenni Kayne sweater line...but they don't ship to Israel. Haval😮

Really should learn one of the biggest rodeos is the Calgary stampede in guess where Canada
OMG never would I go to Alaska gain. Be prepared financially for the breakdowns and the flat tires. Never never. Good luck
You got ice cream gee get Bowie a treat ?
If you stay south & make your way through the Vancouver area, have some suggestions for rv repair & van conversion folks that might be able to help with your diesel heater. And, no lie, would love to meet you & Bowie 🌈 🚗 🧍♂️ 🐶 🏳️🌈
😙😚
