I get that Yuki has demonstrated some headloss moments as recrly as Bahrain at the start of this year - but they can't keep ignoring his quality of performances.
Perez is a strong driver and it would cost to replace him for minimal gain. When the car is right he’s a good driver. Recently he has had a different car to verstappen bc of all the crashes
I’ve always thought that Yuki would be pretty good with max since they have more similar driving styles than others, he would likely be able to get more out of a car built for max than other drivers
I would include Lewis, but I'm not convinced he'll be able to get back to his best straight out the gates. And Oscar, but he's still lacking a little on the performance front.
@@aquila5115are you watching 2022? he is literally the most consistent driver in 2024. at this point, might as well say max should be rated way lower since he makes alot of mistakes in 2019. genuinely, fucking sick of people thinking leclerc makes too many mistakes. literally just hating leclerc for the sake of hating.
Honda would not stand in Yuki's way. They've made this very clear. In fact it's kinda their objective: to have raised up a driver good enough to be desirable to a team without Honda connections.
Given that we've now had 2 Grand Prix in Baltic conditions in Las Vegas, does it give credence to the idea of staging a GP in homage to some the great drivers in one of their native Scandinavian countries? Thank you as always for the chinwag :) Very well deserved title for Max and it is indeed a great interview with Lawrence. I just want to mention, that I really like the track layout. Although Seb didn’t have wins from later than 3rd, he did have a couple of 2nd places from the back end of the grid. You seem to forget how eager Max was to put his car into the back of a Ferrari back in 2018 especially the first half of that year. 2018 max was good and all but he ain’t 2024 max. The best I can give you for that ‘belief’ is…if your mom has balls, she’d be your dad. Maybe let that sink in.
47:56 He just did a Perez where he qualifies out of position then overtakes slower cars and everybody thinks he did amazingly 57:40 And Norris did an extra stop at the end for fastest lap, so the gap would've been bigger
Franz Tost said it perfectly when he said he'd rather have a driver who drives at 110% than one who can only do 90%. Yuki, Charles, Max show sometimes that short term pain is worth it for such a fast driver. Compared to Logan its night and day. Franco crashes doing a top 10 quality lap, just needing to reel it in a bit, whereas Logan crashed to maybe put the car P17.

Russell and Leclerc are the only drivers so far I can see giving Max a proper run for his money. Both dont give him respect wheel to wheel (where everyone else just waves him by) and both are as fast (if not slightly faster on ocassion) in qualifying. I'm not saying either win, but in equal machinery, there'll atleast be fireworks.
@@Carlos-ln8fdHe hasn't convincingly beaten Charles and is now 60 points down this season. He's good but simply not enough. Charles and George are also not quite at Max's level. Nearly there but more to do to be complete drivers.
I wouldn’t want yuki to go to red bull purely because I genuinely believe he has the talent to challenge for titles one day especially once he fully matures, however I feel like due to his strong personality he’ll be the first who won’t let his struggles affect him and when close will push max more than any other teammate he’s had. Still would rather he goes to Aston and leads his own team though
I remember a time when Tommo said, and i'm paraphrasing here, "I have more confidence in Lando than George taking a title fight to Max, even though George beat Lando in F2." What happened that changed your mind?
You're right. George has done SUCH a good job against Lewis, and really demonstrated that killer instinct. Lando is lacking that, and a killer instinct is a non negotiable if you're going to beat Max Verstappen. I overlooked George back then for sure, I can't anymore.
I blame Seidl for Zhou's downturn. It was apparent that Zhou was matching Bottas in the first half of 2023 season. Then it appeared that Zhou suddenly forgot how to drive and started to get completely washed by Bottas after the summer break 2023. Bottas mentioned that Fred had a plan for the team but everything fell apart when he left. Both Zhou and Bottas were probably part of that plan and the early 2023 performance would be more reflective of the drivers' capabilities. Then Seidl came and he reportedly wanted to swap Zhou for Hulk for 2024. Seidl probably stopped putting any resource in Zhou's side of the garage since he joined and the decision materialized into the bad results after the summer break.
TBH Zhou didn’t really get washed by Bottas in 2023. He did start to lose out on the quali head to head and you could say that for the last few rounds he was washed by Valtteri in the quali. But many times Zhou still had the better race pace and he sometimes still came on top after the race. It was indeed evident that the resources were starting to move away from the moment they announced his 1 year renewal, and he went through 2 race engineer changes, started to receive late upgrades, and it’s pretty obvious at that point Seidl pretty much saw him as a cash register before Audi moves in. But the real kicker came when the two sides of the sauber garage ceased sharing setup information. Zhou just couldn’t manage to help his engineers setup the car as well as Bottas could (which is not entirely his fault, as Bottas is the one who even Lewis set his car after during the time at Mercedes) and they had a horrible time getting that first 2024 upgrade to work, and that’s when you start to suddenly see the huge 0.6 quali gaps between the two.
There's only one issue with "it's Lando's first time in a front running car". Actually two. Number one Max won his first race with a front running car, ok it was thanks to the Merc war😉, but still he had to keep Kimi behind the whole race. Number two it was Max's second year in F1, even without a drivers license. Lando is around for some time now. Lando needs to toughen up...facts.

I remember Yuki last year had a terrible race and was at the back of the field. Yuki has crashed every year since he been in f1. Yuki has also had terrible races during his 4yrs.
