I haven’t flown a smaller Dash-8 variant since the US Airways days. Didn’t feel that long honestly, I enjoyed every minute of it. Just wait until you see the video 🙂
hey i was wonderin how you guys ask to be in the cockpit ive been in the cockpit once bc the flight attendant was my family but can you like buy tickets or ask them early or when you get on the plane?
I was on this flight from Nuuk to Reykjavik in September 2015 for a one weeks vacation in Iceland. We flew direct without a fuel stop. Probably because we had headwinds all the way. It was a pleasant and uneventful flight. A week later I flew back, but this time the plane landed in Kulusuk on the East Coast of Greenland for refueling. We were there for about an hour. That was okay with me as I hadn’t been to the East Coast before. The weather was gorgeous, but chilly. The East Coast is known for having a much harsher climate than the West Coast -especially in the South Western region of Greenland of which Nuuk is the top end. Nuuk is the capital of Greenland. Population (2024) 20,000. Total population of Greenland is 56,000. Greenland is in fact only slightly bigger than Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom together. Similarly, Greenland is also roughly the size of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The ice free coastal area where everyone lives is roughly the size of Sweden.
The pilot told me that if they have a passenger that is connecting to Kulusuk and that is their final destination. They will sometimes stop there. Apparently they do that because they don’t wanna fly another plane from the West Coast all the way to the East Coast when they are passing by it anyways.
The arrival doesn't as most people just close it after the landing. BUT, my video of the domestic flight from Nuuk to Kangerlussuaq does have terminal in it :)
this isnt the longer flight so the longest flight is Nuuk to copenhagen the plane is dash 8 and the register is OY-GRP so the air greenland break record over nearly 8 hours
Yeah, that was a one off (or maybe a couple times) during Covid when international travel was at a standstill. And it didn’t warrant an A330 from SFJ to CPH cause there was almost no people on it
Wow that was lovely of the pilots to let u sit in the cockpit! Great airline 👍
Yeah, it was so nice of them!
It was cool that you got to ride in the cockpit.
It really was, I’m still surprised they let me 😂
Wow! I remember flying on Dash 8's with Northwest Airlink Mesaba from Minneapolis to Escanaba. That had to be a long trip.

Nice video. Pitty your footage does not include NUUK airport terminals.

where'd you find the music?
It’s generic music that I got from TH-cam. I made sure it wasn’t copyrighted first tho

And I thought 1hr and 20 minutes was long, flying in a EMB-120?
Lucky, I never got to fly on an E120.
@@GerardiAviation I've flown on Dash 8's too, between YUM-PHX-YUM. Flying time was 37 minutes on America West and America West Express.
