Used to play this game with my ex years ago. Would just lay together on the couch for whole evenings until we finished the game. I don't even know where she is anymore but memories are still there. Good times, hearing the intro just hit me like a truck

Jared Delgado Aqua is Latin for water and because water is clear in nature. Normally when people say something is the color Aqua, they normally mean how water is seen an artworks, like paintings, which has a hint of or mostly blue or teal.

Same. Went into just check out games to take to uni the following week, saw that in 50th place on the charts, knew I had to pick it up regardless. So very, very worth it.
Great game, great story, great combat, great characters. Though other games like Tales of Vesperia had more comedy, and perhaps better story, it's hard to pick which one is better. Inside of battle Hubert was always my favorite, outside of battle it would easily be Pascal. Love this game.
I haven't played Vesperia yet, but this and Tales of the Abyss are my two current favorite Tales games. And I'm the same way. Hubert was always my favorite fighter. Pascal was the best personality, IMO. I haven't found anyone so far in another game that fights similarly to Hubert, and it makes me sad.
leonhardtz5 I'd say Regal in Symphonia might fight a bit like Hubert? I never used either of them but just from watching in fights that would be my best guess..
honestly vesperia was a let down for me and graces was wayyyy better than how everyone told me it'd be. vesperia wasnt bad, but it somehow felt a little too generic...or maybe my expectations were too hogh...didnt quite compare to the emotional rides from abyss symphonia and berseria

This is one of the few ocassions I agree, some people are bagging on the English version for no reason other than the fact it's in English. Never mind it's the same singer and she's known for singing in both languages (and in Korean which it's her native language to begin with).
Actually, one is if you watched Nore's Infintiy Blast Caliber Glitch. But you are probably right about Sophie. Finding a VA with a voice to match her personality is pretty hard.

It's funny how mad people are that this isn't a correct translation of the song. The lyrics are different. Fine. The melody of the song sounds romantic and dreamy, anyway. And what does "I wanna protect you" mean? It's one of those fuzzy anime concepts that sometimes has romantic undertones. I'm not sure if any of the characters is supposed to be the hypothetical singer. It could be Sophie. It could be Asbel. I don't know. Regardless of how poorly translated this song is, I love it.
I am fascinated simply by seeing the differences between a literal translation (like those found on animelyrics) and an official English version. Hikari vs Simple and Clean, and 1000 Words come to mind. There may be no such thing as a true translation, but often I doubt the best or closest English words and phrases the language has accumulated are being used. "I want to protect you" obviously seems to need a change in wording before singing it. I think a proper English dub is one that explores to general concept in the phrase, circling around its possible meanings or angles to choose the best terms possible, if the pace of the music and accents of the original lyrics are permitting of course. It could be rewritten as... "I'm your guardian" "Your life's in my hands" "I will fight for you" "I'll defend your life" "I know what's at stake" (These examples are not necessarily obvious choices for an English line, they only obey the assumption being you're stuck with 5 syllables and a pretty non-negotiable accent in the 3rd syllable, for that particular line)
Eh, the originalsong is obviously about Asbel but if you take the english song at face value the only one who fits it is Cheria. The end of the Future arc basically cements this. So basically they turned a song about Asbel into a song about Cheria, strangely enough.
So I made a fandub for the Japanese song ^^ and another one for "Karma."
