It depends on the titles. But gotta say that since FFX the series went non-stop down if we ignore the MMO games (XI and XIV). Wanna play GOOD FF? Braveley series.
The chorus reminds me quite a bit of the Evangelion opening (inb4 obligatory “all j-pop sounds the same” comment). ...also, I’m convinced the part starting at 3:16 is sample of one of Bach’s pieces, but I can’t pin down which one; anyone have any ideas?
This English release opening, I feel, was much better suited to the series than the Japanese opening. It had more feeling to it. It accurately, through the them, depicts everything happening and being felt in the series as you make your way through... the Japanese opening felt like some random up-beat song to a Tales Game.

Whenever my friends and I played (back in 2003) and saw that opening it felt like something that had been around for years and would get us pretty psyched up to play. I do enjoy the Japanese songs on their own but for people who didn't get to experience the other one they definitely missed out.
Well I'm starting to play Symphonia. Honestly I'm not a fan of the English one. The orchestral is nice but not suited for a intro to get me in. The japanese version gets me more pumped up to play. Also the beats fit with the visuals. That's my opinion.
300-I.Q. Prower I know! I played it! It was great! Though I was disappointed to find out it wasn't open world... and that majority of Emil's arcane artes are garbage... and that there were no costume titles... and having to rely on SP for skill equips (I had just played TotA, no SP needed)... and Marta only gets magic 2/3 through the game... and that Marta's mystic arte is the most anti-climactic mystic arte in the series... and certain places get cutoff at certain points for no reason... and the opening got really boring at the end... and there was no cameo battle... and the only characters that can use over limit is every human character not in the party 3/5 through the game, with the final Richter fight having the most bullshit over limit... godly is a strong word...
Sorry, but I REALLY hate it when people draw comparison between the two games and get defensive. It's pretty obvious they weren't trying recreate ToS, it would be boring if the gameplay were the same and the only thing different was the story. It's basically a harder version of ToS with (in my opinion) a much more developed story.
300-I.Q. Prower I'm not comparing the 2, I've never actually PLAYED the original ToS. Both ToS and ToS2 have there own things going for themselves, as well as there own problems, as I'm sure they do. While I played ToS2 because my friend wouldn't stop nagging me to, I found it to be a very enjoyable experience... I just found some glaring issues along the way...
