Bravissimo !, what a charming work is the "Capricho Espanol" of the great Rimsky Korsakov, who being the Russian "Master" of the group of 5, was able to capture the Spanish feeling and soul of Spanish music . Great composer and orchestrator, thanks to him we have now the precious work of his pupil Musorsky "a night on bald mountain" Excellent interpretation and great conductor, as always, precious "tempo". I must congratulate the extraordinary sound to the engineer responsible for location and quality of the microphones , I have listened absolutely all the instruments in the performance, with a unique and absolute warmth, truly impressive. I can observe that the concerts are already public, magnificent!
Thoroughly enjoyed this performance which superbly brought out the lyricism and musical values of this orchestral showpiece while losing nothing of its power and excitement. The horn solo from 2:20 sets the standard. Totally committed playing throughout the orchestra, never routine. I hope, and believe, they enjoyed it us much as we have. Taken slightly slower than usual in places, but this allows the orchestral detail to come through and there is no lack of tautness and rhythmic drive. Bravo indeed! Also excellent camerawork to further enhance the experience.
This magnificent performance invigorates the humanity's soul This fabulous performance is beyond description , and full of admiration , acclaim and deep emotion , and comfortable to the ear and the mind
@@NDRKlassik You are welcome I'm rooting for you from Tokyo of Japan I'm looking forward to your wonderful programs Go for it ! Take care of yourself Good luck !
Great heavens, what a YT find!! this was utterly outstanding... how this fine orchestra can take (what I thought to be) an average piece of music, usually played for fun, into a majestic piece of orchestral bravado! What a sensation... tempi measured, so we could hear every note, outstanding audio reproduction, and a Horn solo to always remember. Thank you NDR - love to you all from the UK.
Alan, I describe your Conduction and the Musicians as very Elegant. Of course the sound of the Music is Beautifully Elegant. Thank you for posting and sharing a Treasure... A Music Treasure...🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful, sweet Horn playing by Claudia Strenkert and section. (P.S. I'm a Horn player - John Barrows' first "kid" student, 1958-62 in his New York City days and remained very close to him until his untimely passing; I'm a Pathologist and still actively playing principal in a community orchestra; Alex 107x).
Sir, totally agree with you regarding this outstanding performance, and the Horn solo by Claudia Strenkert! so glad you are still actively playing. Bravo
Certainly the best performance of this I’ve heard...yes, better than Igor Markevitch conducting! What a fantastic, well-chosen piece for returning to public performances!
Movs 4 and 5 were a little slow for my taste but pretty clean performance otherwise. Not sure I like the orchestral seating configuration though… I’d have to see if it works better in the hall but for a recording I’m not a huge fan I think.

Musiques de films
The orchestra dressed in white tie...but the conductor rolls up in an open neck shirt. Tsk tsk.
The bigger tsk tsk is all the social distancing and masking that took place within the audience. Utter Covaids nonsense.
