Epic session mate. Maybe try changing trebles to a wider gap for better hookup rate. Worked wonders on my hardbodies for jacks and Barra. Thanks again mate loving your work.
Bowly.. These fish are hitting these lures mouth closed to stun the fish. After the initial strike try to keep your lure as close in the proximity to where it first hit. The fish will come back mouth open to eat. Use wider gap hooks to have a better hookup ratio. This technique is easier said than done due to you wanting to set the hooks into whatever strikes. All this is just a suggestion :) Let that bait soak and make small twitches! Tight lines mate.
That was epic mate. Brilliant conditions and fantastic fishing. Have you ever thought of running a short section of single strand wire to your jig? Like 30-40lb wire? Here where I fish in South East Asia I run about 20cm of single strand 30lb wire to both my vertical and slow pitch jigs as the mackerel will snip off my jigs in a fraction of a second. With how hot the bite is over there in Oz I don't think the fish will shy away too much. I've landed mackies, cobia, queenies, goldies, barracuda and all the other usual suspects with wire traces. Might me worth considering as I know how painful it can be to lose jigs and fish.
Hi bowlys, just have a question how do you rig your rods like do you use mainline to leader knots or just swivels or what knots do you use for leader knots and lure/hook/weight knots?
The key to top water is not to set the hook till you fill weight a lot of people set the hook when they see the splash don't do that wait to feel weight try it and you will have a lot more hook ups
hello! mind telling me whats the setup you used when you caught the golden trevally? ive been looking for a good kayak setup and that setup is looking like it would be perfect for the job. thanks! crazy sessions btw m8
Fun session, i swapped to the DJI osmo action 3/4 and ive had WAY less issues with overheating than the GoPros. Ive actually had none shooting in 2k and 60fps on hot summer days around hinchy/townaville. Still trying to tune the audio and settings for fishing
Very calm for that spot man looks great. Nek minnit, some fuckwhit fangs past in an 8m CC with twin yammys, still drunk from the night before, talking absolute shit about anything and everything.
Whats up with that rod on the silver baitcaster.? It twists so much under pressure that the guides go underneath like a threadline rod. Surely you must notice this. Besides the drag is and has always been sticky as possible could be.
It’s a spiral wrapped rod. It’s designed like that and has many benefits vs a traditional overhead rod. The drag you are saying is sticky is just drag being ripped through the added pressure of my thumb being on the spool and not the drag of the reel itself 👍🏼

Love that excited laugh of yours Bowly. Another great vid.
grew up watching these types of videos fishing these structures and i'm still dying to make a trip to fish one of these crazy jetties.
Life’s short, make it happen!
Hey love your videos where on the east cost were you?
Hey bowly big fan, do you have any recommendations for offshore lure fishing cause i need bigger rods and dont know what to get
Hey mate, what type of offshore fishing do you normally do?
Amazing spot and great video as always. a question. What are the jigging and spinning rods you are using there?

That was a shark Bowly, and you know it 🤣
🤷🏻♂️
Could of been a big black Jew
great vid mate

Looks like they're striking as you make your next pull..may just give your pause just a tad longer before the retrieval
Hey Bowley why not use a wire trace if you know that the mackerel are about love your vids around hay point
You got some nice fish🎉
wat is yr rod n braid details n set up pls
You’ve got a fairly similar rod line up to me. What’s your thoughts on the oceans legacy rods I Fucken love all of mine.

Good 1 mate ❤
🙏
Maybe the plastics still on the hooks?? 😂 man that took forever to hook up to one
Gotta hook up eventually 😂
what outfit was the jigging one mate?
You keep saying there small fish. But if they all fight like that there all great fish in my book . Griz from Wash state
Yes I say small fish for that species average size, they can get much bigger but they are still decent sized fish for sure. Thanks for watching 🙏
nice one
Thank you!
STOP IT 😂
Would use wire tracers to save loosing so many good lures brother
Try replacing the hooks with two singles
Locals be loving that your not hitting the quality fish 😂
FIRST LIKE!!!! love watching your vids !! keep it up!
🙏
Fighting the Caranx Ignobilis is a great
Crime scene investigations still gonna find that blood 😂

Change lures up lol!
I actually caught a 80cm chopper on a squidtrex
Squidtrex and the Samaki coral trout coloured vibes have been slaying fingermark for me for the last 12 months. Don’t really use anything else anymore
Very calm for that spot man looks great.

I went fishing yesterday in honor of cod god and caught many cods

Nothing like playing Russian roulette.
Why arnt you using trebles bro? Jigging hooks are no good for that.
You sound like a kid when they don’t hook up
I don't think you were getting hook ups because you were using single hooks. Try big trebles instead.
You have horrible top water hookup luck
😢
* MY $ SAYS YOUR INITIAL BAD HOOK-UP % HAS TO DO WITH THE LURE COLOR, NOT A GOOD COLOR PERIOD, DEFINITLEY (IMO) NOT A GOOD MORNING COLOR... HTH :)
You got no idea
Practically the same video Matt made a few weeks ago…..
Sorry didn’t see it. He usually makes his videos very different to mine so hopefully you could enjoy 👍🏼
Who matt mate?
@@weekendwarriorchick Matt is pelagic persuit
@FinnWatson9812 cheers bud
Are all the fish you’re catching not good eating ? You Aussie’s are a bit perplexing !
Most of them aren’t considered good eating, the mackerel is but majority I caught were under legal size.
I am not impressed so very frustrating watching you 🦈🔦
