      Great job mate, I've replaced a few windows in tractor and while fitting new rubber to the cab I was thought by an old timer to put Vaseline in rubber groove where it meets metal to prevent this also..

      In 16 years as an auto glass installer, I've only run into rust not caused by a previous auto glass installer a handful of times. Rust around a windshield is almost always caused by a auto glass installer cutting corners and not sealing up the scratches they caused while cutting out the old windshield. I've replaced 30 year old windows that didn't have a hint of rust as it was the original windshield and the paint hadn't been scratched. I've replaced a one year old car that the had rust beginning after only having had the window replaced two months prior because the previous installer had not sealed up his scratches. Rust does not begin because dirt gets underneath the molding. 99.9% of rust that I see is auto glass installers scratching the paint and not sealing up their scratches.

      Hey! You said even if there is a light rust spot present its possible to prevent further rusting by applying the product. My question is do I apply smth like rust eater penetrating oil to get rid off the rust that’s present first and then apply the corrosion inhibitor?

    Can easily be taken to the next level of preventive maintenance: If your car has a "panoramic sunroof" like my wife's Audi A3, these things will become noisy with age. Squeeking noises, sometimes rattles even when closed. My assumption: the rubber seals tend to dry out and shrink with permanent exposure to the elements.
    Loaded the syringe with ATF and gave the surrounding seals a thorough dose of oil. Twice to make sure there will be enough to get into all the nooks and crannies behind the seals and soak the rubbers, too. A week of baking in the sun - the roof is dead-quiet again. Neither the opening part nor the unmovable glass-section cause any more noises.
    I get more and more enthusiastic on this easy, affordable and effective method of rejuvenating older cars.
    I cannot thank You enough for Your knowledge shared here!

    I have paint bubbles near corner of windshield should I use a rust neutralizer and silicone as mentioned in another comment and then mineral oil? Or just use mineral oil

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      snotrags 00 you can open up a whole can of worms with rust neutralizer as it will not look good...if you want to stop the rust in its tracks use the mineral oil and do it a few time to really let it soak in. then when you are ready to open that can of worms, sand the rust out and then use your rust neutralizer and etching primer and repaint.

    Hi again! Lol! I left a mile long comment on the water coming into your floor video... When my friend checked the windshield out, he noticed I had rust spots starting at the top middle of my windshield.... Is it Too Late to do this now? Or, will it help prevent Further rust from forming??
    And, as I type this on my phone, I'm also watching your 'Your Car Will NEVER RUST Again! For Just $10 Bucks" video on my laptop... and, lol, I ALSO have rust starting on the very bottom of my rear quarter panels, like along the very bottom of the car, nearest the back tire (I have a 2 door, Toyota Echo. I have NEVER seen such LONG doors before!) And, I noticed it getting worse lately (I'm in Massachusetts, sea salt, & weather is brutal on vehicles) ... Is it also too late to stop Further rust with the Transmission fluid tricks? Thanks again for the awesome vids!
    Ohhhhhhhhhhh, and I'm going to be turning my father's shop Vac (wet/dry, of course!) into an extractor or whatever it's called, lol, THIS weekend to suck up all the water on my passenger side carpet, from my lovely leak...So thanks for that, too! Good thing about that leak, tho, is... It brought me to this AWESOME channel, that I may not have otherwise seen! Sooo many great tips, and I've already shared some of the vids to my Facebook page for my friends to see! I think everyone should see these tips!!! ... Sorry, I know I type novels, lol! Just be lucky we aren't face to face, if you think this is long.... 😉 hahaha!!! Ya, I'm a little long winded sometimes, lol! I'm just really excited I found all these cool tips on your channel! 👍💖 Thanks again!

    I just did my car using this method. I had a very narrow space between windshield and body with a rubber gasket between windshield and body. Very gently I was able to get my thin trim tool in there to allow the oil to seep in. You can also stick one of the straws from aeresol wd 40 cans in there and inject you fav rust inhibitor. This method is cheaper and any attempt you do will pay off. I bet this is often neglected or missed part of rust proofing where the salt spray runs in that crack all winter.

      Dave you definitely got that 🐝 to fall in love with you with that baby oil

      @@SweetProjectCars it was quite a sight I learned how aggressive they can be. And apparently if you make a lot of movements with your arms it only makes them more intent on stinging you

      Sweet Project Cars What is 303? Luckily, this is something that HASN'T already began on my car (the hard rubber), so if it's something I can prevent from happening, I will get on it immediately! =)
