- About 5 months ago we brought y 2020 10R80 Mustang GT to the track to do some drag racing. We started off running a 12.6 on a stock tire. Then proceeded to go 12.0 on a drag radial and today we went 11.6 with more left in her! I'll definitely be back to get my 12.5 - 12.4 1/4 Mile time with friends!

Either way dude, you ended with a 11.6. You’re slowly but surely making progress, I’m sure it’s not as quick of progress you were looking for but the more you do it. The better it’ll get, especially with some new meats in the rear!
He ran a 11.695 @ 118mph seems a little off with all the stuff you have done. I don't know what your 60 ft x are
Congrats on breaking into the 11s brother! Few things that will help you out - do your burnout in second gear, more heat into the tires. Second thing, don’t drive through the water box unless you have bias ply skinnies, drive around it. Third thing, car needs to weight transfer in order to hook up better. Maybe get some adjustable suspension on the car? Would help for sure! Best of luck on this endless money pit journey haha.

When I was N/A i also learn the hard way but after taking weight off and suspension I would always run 10.9s or 11.0s but it wasn’t easy my worst mistake was having the car lowered

It all depends on the track prep too, I gutted my 10 speed and added some slicks bone stock and ran 11.6 at 123mph those drag radials are a little bit more heavy too

@@nowack129 I took out the rear seats and stuff I had in the trunk like Spare if day 50 to 100lbs I took out big difference tho when you take weight off
So you're saying you took out 100 lbs and that's the only thing you've done and you run 123mph
I'm calling bullshit on that you may run 123, but not with a bone stock car slicks and a rear seat delete in the trunk emptied out
You don't pick up 7 miles an hour from where the stock car runs, taking out 70 pounds of weight, you pick up a mile an hour if you're lucky

I live in the Midwest where the tracks are open into 40° days and theit's a negative DA for air quality and the cars aren't running 7 miles an hour faster than everywhere else...especially N/A

Good stuff..A few tips, dont pat the gas while doing your burnout, your killing your wheel speed and not getting enough smoke. Spin to the line, this keeps heat in the tires. Also stall it up, looks like your leaving right off idle.. A higher stall speed will net a better 60 foot.

Hey bro! Not sure if you got a revised E85 tune but if you haven’t I think that will definitely drop the time a few tenths. Maybe take off the extra weight you added to it too.
So 12 flat all stock and 11.6 with mods.

If you've got a drag radial on the car no way it was spinning. I am supercharged on mine making way more power and at VMP and it just dead hooks and goes. These cars really suffer in the 60' without a converter because they don't make any torque and no horespower until 5000 rpm. You have to have a way to rev them up higher than 2100 on the launch and with a stock converter you just can't do it because it is too tight.

It's called stock stall bring lazy off the line. It isn't rocket science it baffles me all the internet experts in the comments saying what he needs hardly any of them said anything about a stall converter lol

Bro, You are literally launching from idle. Launch from 3-4 k or get a two step and dial it in. You are losing time from your car not taking off in your power band.

@@zmvrk To launch @ the appropriate RPM for his setup. If you launch too high, you’ll spin. If you launch too low, you’ll bog, so experimenting with a 2step will help you find the RPM for your setup so that you don’t spin or bog when you launch.

You might know but April 7th is ( take it off the streets ) @ dinwidde im going to run my Foxbody my goal is 12.8-13.2 FBO.. we’ll see. Your first run you were behind that 68 fastback mustang I raced him a few years ago in the championship 14 index class he beat me but was surprised how my stock Foxbody ran.. he was 14.0 I was 14.2. On a side note take your air filter out next time you run getting direct air would probably drop at least 1 tenth. Maybe I’ll see you at the track. 🤙🏻

Not bad. Needs a better tire, less tire pressure, adjustable rear coilovers and you need to leave the line harder. Not enough rpm at launch. With a good tire, adjustable coilovers and harder launch it will go 11.4 as it sits

Wonder if the downforce of the wicker bill add on and the front lip might have hurt you a little...plus I'd say drop some weight anywhere you can...clean that car out...water bottles anything that has any weight to it

Traction isn't the issue and na 10 speed with stock stall can't launch hard enough to even have traction issues especially on drag radials.
Are there any sort of rear suspension mods done to the car? I've just begun running some gear from Steeda of my S550 and it's completely tightened up the entire backend.

@DerekBaranProductions I highly recommend some suspension pieces to tighten that girl up, get that power down quicker and to stop those wheels from skipping. Honestly I couldn't believe the difference a rear sway bar, and braces would do.
Converter time
Cars a beast bro quick question tho if you were to do it again would you get the manual or the auto? On one of your other videos I you called the 10speed a little boring. and your older videos you talked real good about them so you were talking me out of getting the 6 speed do to the problems on the mt82 but idk would like your option tho thanks.
My friends at ford have informed me that they have about 30 waiting to be fixed rn they are fast but not reliable

You don't need bias tires on a moderm 10 speed auto with a stock stall lol. It can't launch hard enough for it to even matter. Drag radials work fine on automatics.

Tune time
Get rid of all that weight next time, and get a torque converter and suspension mods 👌
Instead of putting car in s and keeping it in 1st gear for your burnout let it shift through a gears it’ll get more wheel speed and put more heat in the tires
Traction isn't his problem the thing isn't launching hard enough with a stock stall at this power level to have traction issues.
Now I don’t feel so bad. My Manual Gen2 with same mods as you runs 11.3-11.5 consistently.

Should’ve used Lund for your tune bro they give you a vetted file off rip , if they give a “base tune” it’s been vetted and gone over like 100 times , also you need suspension get drag springs not those aggressive springs you have right now , and you need stop the hop kit you can see your patches on the track prep
Oh and stop leaving at 1200 rpm

You just need to keep at it. You do not hit the track regularly. Keep working on the mods and your driving. You have to learn how your car drives on a track surface and make adjustments.

DBP those are pretty good runs but you didn’t mention the trap speed which is an indication of power the ET is a measure of efficiency and of traction! So if I remembered correctly you trapped at 117 mph on the 12.07 run so how much faster was it in mph on the 11.7 -11.6 runs? The MPH would be a better measurement of improvement over ET if your tires are bad!

Car needs bmr k member / bmr stop the hop kit & the seats out ( I have a premium those seats are heavy asf) and you will get a low 11 high 10.9 imo
It needs alot more than that man yall don't realize how much .7 is in the quarter that is a huge difference. It's gonna need a stall on top of that plus perfect conditions.
He needs way more than that. He would need some crazy suspension upgrades, a lot of weight reduction, a converter, and a good tire. Going from 11.7 to a 10.9 may seem like an easy feat given it’s less than a second, but it’s gonna take more than a few upgrades.

Need suspension upgrades for the rear it’ll make a bigger difference then a new tire especially when u put a supercharger on

I ran a 12.0 @117 in my 2015 on summer tires with a couple bolt ons. I think a drag pack will get me in the 11s
My manual 2015 ran a best of 11.3 with same mods as this Gen 3 and a rear drag set up. Hoping for 11.0 or 10.9 when my cj and cams are finished up.

@4EVAMOBBIN that is how you do it man. Manuals can be quick with a good driver most drivers suck and just go auto because they're too lazy to actually learn how to drive a manual well. Easier just to let the car and the tuner do all the work. Props for running a stick shift and doing it well
