I just did this on my 2019 and all I did was take the plastic long horizontal piece over the horn. This will give you enough space to unbolt the old horn. If your bracket is fine you can just unbolt the horn off and install the new one. 15 minute job. Hope this helps someone who doesn't want to do this.
I have a 2016 Explorer and a horn needed replaced. I’m no longer able to do a lot of physical activity due to a serious illness ♋️ and have to rely on the dealership. Wednesday, the car was dropped off and services and State Inspection was performed. Well, the horn was a $60 part, but the Ford Service Department charged 2.5 “Book Hours” to complete that repair. In other words $426.25 FOR LABOR. Almost $500 total P&L WTF? I FEEL I WAS OVERCHARGED!!! Friday, I went back to the Dealership to check this out with the Service Advisor, a Mechanic and a Supervisor. Was told Ford requires them to do the Work as Required, No Shortcuts! Because, the “Part” is under warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Believe me, I’m not that concerned about a Warranty for a $60 horn!!! What say you? I see Steve’s Comment about the change for 2016s. Maybe there is more to it. There’s not that much room around the hood latch, but the horns are clearly visible. Oh well. Engineering was not concerned about replacing a horn!
I wish and had seen the comments of this video before taking my driverside tire off and not finding a dam horn. 2019 limited does not apply to this video

This only applies to 2011-2015 explorers. 2016 changed location to the hood latch well.

Change your video name to 2011-2015 Ford Explorer. Thumbs down.
Isn't my 2019 explorer position of horn. Also, wouldn't you test horn b4 reassembly of fender well cover?
my horn in 2015 Explorer is right behind the grill surrounding the hood locking
mechanism. NOT in wheel well
Do you have a video on replacing horns on a 2018 Ford Taurus?
+@privatename8888 We're always cycling through common cars. We'll add this repair to our list! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Could you guys make video on how to change the fuel pump on this particular vehicle ?!

this how to should be updated, ford moved the horn mid life cycle to neat the hood latch, please see a 2016 ford explorer.
Can you do this job without taking off the wheel?
I wish the 2019’s horns were actually setup there. I have a ‘19 Sport and the horns mount snug up besides hood latch components
I can't find the horns on the internet for a 2016 ford explorer
+James Knapp We don't carry the horns you need. Please check back soon as we are always updating our inventory!
On my 2017 Ford Explorer, the horn is located in the front of the vehicle under the hood!!!
You didn’t honk the horn he w do u know if it works lol 😂
You need to change the the title of this video, this does not apply to all 5th gen models. The horns on my '18 are located right under the hood latch.
Yeah, NOT where the horn is on my 2016. Thanks for the mislead.😕
You're not giving the right information sir!
