Absolutely love this watch, I bought it about 6 months ago and couldn’t be happier. Excellent power reserve, beautiful and bold look, sits comfortably and the bezel is great. I would highly recommend
Everything seems perfect though the bezel actin is lousy compared to my Seiko and the pressed clasp is cheap as F. Not sure why they did that. Love the daily, and think the hands are the best.
I’ve now had this for 6m, wear it daily, never remove it whilst valeting cars at work, going kart racing, in the shower, wherever, it loses 2 seconds a day which I’m told is excellent accuracy. Two year guarantee, my goal was give it hell and see if it lasts……. So far so good, the case is pretty scratch resistant tbh, the polished aspect still looks perfect, the glass completely unscathed but just a few surface scratches on underside of strap where I would rest my arm on a desk or wherever. Adds to the character imo! I had a series of replica watches that would last a month under such treatment, very pleased, very good quality is proven over time of ownership.
Yup...the Powermatic 80 is a superb movement and it's not too expensive. This watch is rather chunky and looks like a heavy duty diver to a certain extent.
So I'm a year late to the game on this video because I've only subscribed a few months ago. But, when this came up in my feed today, I was wearing my seastar with the green fume dial that came on a Milanese bracelet. I also have the black dial on it's OEM jubilee style bracelet. You mentioned your concern about the polished sides, but I've found that because they are pretty well protected by being recessed. Overall, I really enjoy these watches and think they are great value for the money.
I've worn the deep blue dial on the rubber strap daily since January 2020, it runs a steady -2.5 seconds a day. I love the watch and it holds me down until I can get me a blue seamaster.
I bought a previous generation with black bezel and dark blue gradient to black. I prefer the date background to match the dial. And I prefer silicone strap, as I wear it 24h, and use it for diving, swimming, showering, all outdoor activities. I treat my gear rough, and this watch has survived such bad treatment
I got the Seastar 2000 and it's on a different level than the 1000. I have flat and broad slab-shaped wrists so even though I just have 7.5-7.75" wrists, standard 40mm watches look like toys on my wrist. It's unfortunate for me because most 40mm watches look ridiculous on me. I work in the automotive industry and I only take the watch off to shower (yes I sleep with it on) and it has NEVER been scratched anywhere so don't worry about the case material.
The new 36mm looks better imo, surprised you didn't look at that tbh. Had a seastar and they are bulky, sharp and much less comfortable to wear than, say, a comparable certina ds action 38mm which is a dream to wear and not very well known, with the same movement. Wrist check: currently wearing my Longines DolcheVita auto with the Roman numerals and blued hands. A stunner with the same movement as some Cartier's!
Longines and Certina just sound like the names of diseases or medicines to me. I know they make great watches but the name, both the way it sounds and way it looks when printed out just isn't appealing to me. However there are few words more symmetrical than Tissot. It's the perfect blend of sounding swiss, exotic, foreign, without being hard to pronounce or pretentious sounding. imo
@AlteredState98 Tissot literally sounds like a sneeze. Unfortunately the ones ive had have been cheap and nasty for the most part. It's a shame most of their watch designs resemble what's usually left behind in a tissue after use too. They really need some new designers. But you're right. At least their name is nearly a palindrome. Now, if only that were a marker of a great watch 🤔
In this moment on my wrist is a Casio Edifice EFV-130D-2AVUEF. Timeless style with a bright blue dial. Love it. Paid less than 50 € for it a few month ago.
So one millimeter between the tissot and the omega is a big difference? Wouldn’t bother me. Btw-I wouldn’t call it a navy blue, more of an ultramarine. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful!
Have my vintage Seiko skx031 on at the moment. First mechanical watch I ever bought, and still love it. Breguet Classique Moonphase - gorgeous watch. Like Tissots, but the Seastar is too chunky for me.
I gotta say, the dial looks so much better in real life than in pictures.Have been using this watch for a month now and the accuracy has been spot on. I love this watch however there are so many little detail I wish I could change such as the handset, the t counterweight looks ugly, the minute hand and hour hand looks too similar. I would also change the case shape so it looks more like the 36mm Seastar.
hai thx for review this great watch brand form swiss, I have two, one automatic seaster the green one powermatic 80 with 300 ft, the other one chronograph quarts, both were great, the most important thing use it every day . the seastar i bought for a couple weeks ago 2024 brand new, I love it because that was my dream for long ago. thx to review it even the pro and cons. I'm form jakarta, Indonesia
I have had my eye on these updated sea stars for a while now. Can't decide between the blue or the grey dial. It is sort of a budget oris aquis, my dream watch 😔. Currently on my wrist I'm wearing my blue PRX! Love this bad boy. It is the perfect business casual watch for my everyday work attire.
Hi Chisholm, quick question, you said “(the movement) is not the thing that powers and runs the watch” and that is why you wouldn’t pass it on as an heirloom. What do you mean by this?
My comment is very good looking blue dial and bezel, 80 hour power reserve, good price that less than US1000 (with discount). Only one complaint, the case style is too common to dive watch in the market. Lack of something that recognize it is a Tissot seastar, you know what I mean.
Certina DS Action Diver in 38 mm is much better in my opinion. Or the 43mm if you like that kind of size (the 43s have a better ceramic bezel and a better type of extension on the clasp). It's a spec monster really, for the price. I unfortunately just don't like the 43 sizing. The 38 has a divers extension, but worse. And not a ceramic bezel, but it is cheaper. Both are ISO certified to 300m and have a sapphire crystal with interior AR coating. They are part of the same group as Tissot, "rocking" the same Powermatic 80 automatic movement.
I think Tissot gets most things right with this one, however I would say that I feel that the indices are a bit too small for the size of the dial, creating what I think is a lot of unnecessary negative space on the dial.
The 43.5mm Oris Aquis Cal. 400. I love the case and overall styling of the Seastar (1000 and 2000) but to me the proportions on the dial and bezel are just a little off. The handset is big but the applied markers are tiny. It also feels like everything is pushed to the edge and it leaves the dial with a lot of space. The 36mm version looks much better. Some little tweaks would take this watch to another level.
At my wrist there's the Swatch/Omega Moonwatch with a nato black strap. Bought at the local store of milano. Beautiful the Tissot. Going to the Milano Store to see it...
I like the Tissot Seastar range but not sure which is best for me. If had the money the Breguet Marine with the blue dial looks amazing. Got my Steinhart Titanium 500 GMT on today.
Just like you Chisholm: I don't feel anything with this watch. It's to neutral. I'll purchase the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 with rubber strap. That one speaks to me 👌
I like it been looking at a few watches at this price point chris ward mido certina all great watches just want a solid tool watch for today today wearing maybe vic inox?
I have one of these as well, on a rubber strap. I love the detailing in the case, the movement, the handsome face with the blue sunburst, the high visibility hands, the terrific bezel action, the 300 meter waterproofness and the 80 hour power reserve. It sparkles outdoors in daylight where it is meant to be worn in my opinion. Having said all that, indoors and on the wrist it is “all face and no case” to me, and stands up too proud like a miniature pie plate. So I prefer others for daily wear. But this is why we own more than one watch!,
The bracelet is not that good on this. Love this watch and i own One myself. But there is no weight in it and a bit cheap feeling. Tha clasp to.. Otherwise the watch is good
Hour markers are too Small... also don't like the case...a dial should never be bigger than the case...the case should always be bigger than the dial...thats the soul secret to a great looking watch design
Not a really good review, here is why: 1. You jumped from section to section really without plan. 2. Almost on everything on the watch you compared it to Seamaster you have it on your wrist, which costs like 6-7x more, which is not ok. I would say you're highly biased here by Omega, regardless its price tag. 3. You mostly complained on everything on the watch, which sound funnny as I see a lot of good things and value (+ quality) in 600$ for this watch. Of course it cannot match your 5k Seamaster you have.
In the end, you don't make sense at all! You day the design is great and the movement is brilliant, but you don't know what to feel about the watch, without giving any reason why you are feeling conflicted. Unnecessary drama, IMHO
I looked at one and I was really keen as Chisholm hunter had a great discount on it.... until I got my hands on one. I dont know if it was that single one but the bezel was awful...wobble and play. The bracelet also felt awful and sharp edged. I have never been so disappointed in my life as I was ready to get the card out and buy one. the spec was great and at first glance it was a no brainer but the reality was poor.
you afraid to scratch a sub 1000 euros watch that you can wear it everyday but don't afraid to wear and scratch a 10.000 euro watch ok! you have my attention now! you don't know how to feel for this watch but for Khaki expedition with printed dial and unecessasry compass bezel wow massive release! youtubers nowadays are hilarious
I absolutely love tissot as a brand, but they are truly shitting the bed with all these needles homage models. They did so much better when they were pushing technology forward and doing their own thing. C’mon tissot. We miss you.
Tissot makes two spectacular watches. The gentleman and the PRX but... The ballade and the seastar are just eyesores and totally awful, they're respectively a cheap looking Rolex datejust ripoff and a nasty ripoff of the oris aqis.
Absolutely love this watch, I bought it about 6 months ago and couldn’t be happier. Excellent power reserve, beautiful and bold look, sits comfortably and the bezel is great. I would highly recommend
Glad you enjoy it!
Can this watch be dressed casual?
I bought the gray one and it is perfect. Kind of sport and dressy at the same time
I'm saving for mine now. Absolutely love Tissot.
Everything seems perfect though the bezel actin is lousy compared to my Seiko and the pressed clasp is cheap as F. Not sure why they did that. Love the daily, and think the hands are the best.

He probably chose this one because the seastar 36mm isn’t available in automatic yet
Is the 36 mm ok for a diver? Im thinking its too small!
Longines and Certina just sound like the names of diseases or medicines to me. On the wrist today is the new Tudor root beer GMT S&G. I picked it up last week, when I got the call from my AD. It’s my new favorite.
A great way to avoid desk diving scratches is to have an xl mouse pad, clasp would rub on soft mouse pad
Had my Longines HydroConquest on today. Seriously thinking about Tissot Gentleman next though :)
In this moment on my wrist is a Casio Edifice EFV-130D-2AVUEF. Timeless style with a bright blue dial. Love it. Paid less than 50 € for it a few month ago.
I think I’d prefer the 2000 Professional. The dials are more interesting. Great video as always❤️🙏
Thank you Sir!
Yes, I agreed.
So one millimeter between the tissot and the omega is a big difference? Wouldn’t bother me.
Btw-I wouldn’t call it a navy blue, more of an ultramarine. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful!

Personally I prefer 4hz SW200 or ETA 2824 movements instead 3hz powermatic 80, even knowing it has 80 hours power reserve
Does this have the peek problem where you can see the start of the next date through the windows in double digit numbers?
hai thx for review this great watch brand form swiss, I have two, one automatic seaster the green one powermatic 80 with 300 ft, the other one chronograph quarts, both were great, the most important thing use it every day . the seastar i bought for a couple weeks ago 2024 brand new, I love it because that was my dream for long ago. thx to review it even the pro and cons. On my wrist today, the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 👍🏼
Wow we have the same taste... grey dial seastar, red dial oris aquis, and waiting for the new green prx to come out at a store near me
I bought the grey one and love it. It is a good balance between sporty with dressy
Hi Chisholm, quick question, you said “(the movement) is not the thing that powers and runs the watch” and that is why you wouldn’t pass it on as an heirloom. What do you mean by this?
I'm wearing Seiko 7006-8040 bought in H Samuel in the Argyle Arcade in 1973
any thoughts on black gold colour dial.? Which one looks good blue or black gold variant ? Not able to decide between blue and black gold
My comment is very good looking blue dial and bezel, 80 hour power reserve, good price that less than US1000 (with discount). Only one complaint, the case style is too common to dive watch in the market. Lack of something that recognize it is a Tissot seastar, you know what I mean.
Wearing the Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical at the moment. I do love the look of this watch

still impressed by the Breguet Marine manual.
I think Tissot gets most things right with this one, however I would say that I feel that the indices are a bit too small for the size of the dial, creating what I think is a lot of unnecessary negative space on the dial.
What’s on my wrist you ask?…..the tissot seastar 1000 grey sunburst dial
The 43.5mm Oris Aquis Cal. 400.
I love the case and overall styling of the Seastar (1000 and 2000) but to me the proportions on the dial and bezel are just a little off. The handset is big but the applied markers are tiny. It also feels like everything is pushed to the edge and it leaves the dial with a lot of space. The 36mm version looks much better. Some little tweaks would take this watch to another level.
I have the grey dial, I agree with you. Something is just off about the design, I prefer my hydroconquest and now am looking to sell my seastar
I'm wearing the Seiko 5 Worn and Wound 10 Anniversary LE (SRPH81)
Similar vibe to the hydroconquest…which I love.
The glass beneath is it sapphire crystal as well?
No its mineral
At my wrist there's the Swatch/Omega Moonwatch with a nato black strap. Bought at the local store of milano. Beautiful the Tissot. Going to the Milano Store to see it...
Today I’m wearing my Citizen Promaster Diver Chrono! Great watch but potentially looking to upgrade to an automatic movement like Tissot’s
The 80.111 movement has plastic parts. So the longevity of this movement is probably reduced compare to an ETA 2824-2
Hi! Which is a better buy longines hydroconquest ceramic or tissot seastar 1000? Thanks
Scammer
Oh and right now my daily wear is a Steihart ocean 39 with the green ceramic bezel. Very classy!
I like the Tissot Seastar range but not sure which is best for me. If had the money the Breguet Marine with the blue dial looks amazing. Got my Steinhart Titanium 500 GMT on today.
Got the Steinhart Titanium 500 also but ordered this upgraded Tissot 1000 today.
4:30 Tissot Seastar 1000 blue dial is sitting on my wrist
Whats the size of Chisholm's wrist?
This, Longines Hydroconquest, or the Christopher Ward Trident Pro? 🤔
I like the way you think as this is my question exactly.
I'm thinking about buying the watch but first I'm going to a dealer to try it on. hopefully it's not too big.
The Breguet marine self winding is the one I want. Looks great.
Would you get a UV LIGHT already, for the lume! Thanks
Thanks Mate!
The watch look awesome i have got the longines hydroconquest automatic in rubber but this one looks so classy
Sporting a Seiko Green King Turtle. Love it!
Numbers on bezel are engraved or just printed ?
Engraved
@@РостиславВинский thanks soon going to purchase this, already owner of prx and gentleman
Currently wearing the tissot seastar chronograph pepsi one...but my main is a superocean heritage green face
Very good review... great details.
At the moment have a Alpina Heritage pilots watch with the hunter back
Waring the original black wave dial omega seamaster 300. The white dial is in the safe
Ordering mine tomorrow
Great choice mate. You'll love it.
Just like you Chisholm: I don't feel anything with this watch. It's to neutral. I'll purchase the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 with rubber strap. That one speaks to me 👌
The Breguet Classique range is my favorite of the ranges. Wearing my olive dial Hamilton khaki automatic today. Great video.
Thank you!
I like it been looking at a few watches at this price point chris ward mido certina all great watches just want a solid tool watch for today today wearing maybe vic inox?
I was looking at the Seastar and finally bought one but went for the quartz chrono because the dial is so much better than the auto😱
Are u irish mate? Just asking..✌️.. nice review btw 👍
Great video :)
Thanks for the visit
i'm owner of a tissot 1000 (same as this one at video) i have to write only this, great value for money
The Breguet Classique Chronograph 38mm!
Easily the best $700 watch in the market
I have one of these as well, on a rubber strap. I love the detailing in the case, the movement, the handsome face with the blue sunburst, the high visibility hands, the terrific bezel action, the 300 meter waterproofness and the 80 hour power reserve. Otherwise the watch is good
Love this watch.
Scammer
I have a female’s stainless steel Tissot. About 30mm
What about a female. I am buying one.
You’re buying a female? Don’t think that’s legal
orient bambino 38 :D

Don't get one then, and if you're not sure what it can do I'll help you out... It tells the time.
Sinn104 on the wrist. I can’t seem to take it off.
The applied indices are way to small and out of proportion to the dial
I looked at one and I was really keen as Chisholm hunter had a great discount on it.... until I got my hands on one. I dont know if it was that single one but the bezel was awful...wobble and play. Needs AR coating on Crystal

They did so much better when they were pushing technology forward and doing their own thing.
C’mon tissot. We miss you.
Sporting my Oris Aquis Date today, but considering the Seamaster, Aquis GMT, or YachtMaster?!?! Too many choices!
Sekonda sadly☺️☺️
No mention of movement hertz? Fake watch guy
Swatch ciao venezia
First 😎
The hands look cheap, like tin foil...put me right off it...get it on the oris aquis as well although not as bad
Tissot makes two spectacular watches. The gentleman and the PRX but... The ballade and the seastar are just eyesores and totally awful, they're respectively a cheap looking Rolex datejust ripoff and a nasty ripoff of the oris aqis.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Poor looking watch IMO, just looks like a mishmash and fails miserably.
