Most harems fall for the mc simply because they are powerful or "kind" without any buildup and proper writing. in mushoku tensei each girl actually had a reason and story behind why they want to be with rudy. in other words it's a well written harem

You know what? Props to these Reactors for not losing their ish with the situation. I watched another mashup reaction and people were pissed for absolutely no reason. The moral standards in that world are different so context definitely matters. Keep in mind, we watched Slavery be handled in a way that isn’t common in most anime with Julie. Eris dad is related to Paul tried to give Rudy’s cousin to him. I know I forgot that was the case until I did a rewatch because so much happened in those few years in the Demon continent. Are you really mad at the woman who fell for a guy fit the same exact role as what she asked for in season 1. She said her Ideal guy was someone who saved her in a dungeon and you’re an adult at 15 in this world so Rudy just fits the role. As for the Einalese things being cut, I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a Roxy Ova just like Eris and Sylphie detailing the time between when they got back from dungeon to the start of the episode. For Rudy to be so thin, time must have flew without him properly caring for himself. Also, this is a 24 episode season so there’s still another major bit that has to happen. I wont spoil it for those who don’t know. All in all, compared to other adaptations, this was still solid. All the things that happened this episode has definitely been foreshadowed and you can’t change the script once it’s written.

He could turn into a shut-in like in his previous life again because of the depression. But yeah.. Rudeus is destined to have 3 wives with Eris for the third one. And you'll know in the next season all these thing happened because Man-God didnt want to be killed by Orsted 😂

I’m a little conflicted on this,not because of the idea of a harem itself,but because of it happening RIGHT after Rudy’s father died.It feels less like rudy is deciding it’s what he wants and more so everyone kind of forcing it on him at his lowest.
They cut so much of the content for this episode. Asian guy on the bottom left is clearly an LN reader and picked up on it quickly. I agree with his assessments as well, the talk before Roxy went up to Rudy’s room is important. The talk where Rudy reveals he is from another world (frames it as a story though), Elinalise tricking Rudy into thinking Roxy is pregnant, and other details. Rifujin (the author) even went on Twitter expressing his regrets on this episode since he helped with storyboard. It is unfortunate to lose so much context but ig it still went over well. I do wonder if it wouldve been possible given the time constraints though? Times like these make me wish MT was a 48 episode season.

Roxy, Elinalise, Talhand, and Geese go to a bar where Geese tries to get Elinalise to sleep with Rudy to help him recover; when Roxy gets mad that Elinalise won’t help Rudy, Elinalise explains that he is married to her (Lise’s) granddaughter and is expecting child. Everyone but Roxy agrees Rudy will figure it out but Roxy attempts to comfort him non-sexually. She explains that an adventurer friend (original party) died shielding her and hugs Rudy from behind. Rudy, finds comfort in her heartbeat and drags her closer to him when she attempts to withdraw; after this she then propositions him to have sex. Rudy, clearly not thinking straight gives in to temptation. The next morning, Rudy wakes up and instantly regrets his actions but notices that he feels better. He opens up to Roxy (albeit as a fictional scenario) and reveals his overwhelming bile for himself. She tells him that he needs to move forward and that is what Paul would want. Rudy thanks her. This entire sequence took 33 pages in the light novel (almost as long as Norn’s entire episode) and took less than half the time of this episode- a lot of internal dialogue was cut.
*I haven't read the manga but as far as I know, Rudeus can have like a seconds of glimpse in the future right? I wonder why he wasn't able to react or even cast a spell to avoid Paul's death...*

Apparently he could see it happening but he was also so close to the hydra while it was flailing it’s headless necks that what he was seeing was a confusing blurry mess, or something, that combined with his inexperience with fighting in a dungeon against monsters like the hydra, unlike everyone else, left him a deer in the headlights.
I really want to give more information but I feel it would be spoilers for the series. Just let the anime cook. You’ll see how it doesn’t just use harem as like a tag but has real effects on the story.

I don't blame fans for hating the polygamy storyline but this is not modern Earth but a different world still in its medieval era. Nevertheless, how the author wrote the debate on polygamy rather than letting it slide via Norn, Cliff, and the other Millis believers shows that this is taken seriously.

Being that, it's an Isekai, a different world, different cultures, different morals and ethics. We've seen more dedication in the harem troupe, especially. Although I'm not a fan, the author made it clear since the beginning, and gave us many hints regarding the course of the main character's relationships. I still think it's kinda too much fanservice presented, that can be the turn off for some people, but I let it slide. Now, the way the author tries to portray these themes, especially with an important character's death (Paul), is so poorly written, like what is he trying to pull off here, a Game Of Thrones? It's not even about the morals and ethics he conceived, it's just so... inhumane. Like, Roxy said "It might have been the happiest time of my life", "Paul and Zenith are a second family to me", and then acts like nothing's going on and proceeds to do that shit... and also says like "I want to share the sadness with you", 🥷🏿 you're not sad you're just horny. I mean she stated at some point she's use to these kinds of things. She's deff sad, but she's just so used to it at this point it seems like it has no effect. And yes she's horny, but she also did that to help Rudy not be in a bad state. My grandmother passed away some years back and we were very close. I went to her funeral but didn't cry at all. I didn't cry or show many emotions, but I was nonetheless still sad about her death and had to move on.
it was said on twitter that they have to cut some of it cuz the general public may not accept the raw story of mushoku tensei, but yeah rudeus did cheat.
In the original work, Rudeus treats Roxy badly. I like that story too, but the quality of this work has dropped significantly since it was translated from Japanese to English, so there's no point in comparing the good and bad aspects.

The reason why they did that was because Redeus wasn’t coming out of his room for a while. He was so depressed it was killing him, he wasn’t eating a lot and was dead on the inside. Even if he recovered on his own it would’ve took a while

And it's not like your average harem anime where each girl is just fawning over the MC with no real unique personalities. Each of his wives all have their own unique personalities and their own reasons for liking Rudy and neither of them straight up fawn over him. Roxy, Elinalise, Talhand, and Geese go to a bar where Geese tries to get Elinalise to sleep with Rudy to help him recover; when Roxy gets mad that Elinalise won’t help Rudy, Elinalise explains that he is married to her (Lise’s) granddaughter and is expecting child. Everyone but Roxy agrees Rudy will figure it out but Roxy attempts to comfort him non-sexually. She explains that an adventurer friend (original party) died shielding her and hugs Rudy from behind.
Rudy, finds comfort in her heartbeat and drags her closer to him when she attempts to withdraw; after this she then propositions him to have sex. Rudy, clearly not thinking straight gives in to temptation.
The next morning, Rudy wakes up and instantly regrets his actions but notices that he feels better. He opens up to Roxy (albeit as a fictional scenario) and reveals his overwhelming bile for himself. She tells him that he needs to move forward and that is what Paul would want. Rudy thanks her.
This entire sequence took 33 pages in the light novel (almost as long as Norn’s entire episode) and took less than half the time of this episode- a lot of internal dialogue was cut.

Apparently he could see it happening but he was also so close to the hydra while it was flailing it’s headless necks that what he was seeing was a confusing blurry mess, or something, that combined with his inexperience with fighting in a dungeon against monsters like the hydra, unlike everyone else, left him a deer in the headlights.

I don't mind about the author coming up with these concepts. Being that, it's an Isekai, a different world, different cultures, different morals and ethics. We've seen more dedication in the harem troupe, especially. Although I'm not a fan, the author made it clear since the beginning, and gave us many hints regarding the course of the main character's relationships. I still think it's kinda too much fanservice presented, that can be the turn off for some people, but I let it slide.
Now, the way the author tries to portray these themes, especially with an important character's death (Paul), is so poorly written, like what is he trying to pull off here, a Game Of Thrones? It's not even about the morals and ethics he conceived, it's just so... inhumane.
Like, Roxy said "It might have been the happiest time of my life", "Paul and Zenith are a second family to me", and then acts like nothing's going on and proceeds to do that shit... and also says like "I want to share the sadness with you", 🥷🏿 you're not sad you're just horny.

I mean she stated at some point she's use to these kinds of things. She's deff sad, but she's just so used to it at this point it seems like it has no effect. And yes she's horny, but she also did that to help Rudy not be in a bad state. My grandmother passed away some years back and we were very close. I went to her funeral but didn't cry at all. I didn't cry or show many emotions, but I was nonetheless still sad about her death and had to move on.
it was said on twitter that they have to cut some of it cuz the general public may not accept the raw story of mushoku tensei, but yeah rudeus did cheat.
In the original work, Rudeus treats Roxy badly. I like that story too, but the quality of this work has dropped significantly since it was translated from Japanese to English, so there's no point in comparing the good and bad aspects.

The reason why they did that was because Redeus wasn’t coming out of his room for a while. He was so depressed it was killing him, he wasn’t eating a lot and was dead on the inside. Even if he recovered on his own it would’ve took a while

Some ppl are taught having only one wife is good and having multiple is bad while others are taught having multiple wives isn't a bad thing at all. It's a cultural thing. As long as the wives are ok with it, I don't see a problem with having multiple spouses.
And it's not like your average harem anime where each girl is just fawning over the MC with no real unique personalities. Each of his wives all have their own unique personalities and their own reasons for liking Rudy and neither of them straight up fawn over him. They love him, not none are fawning over him like the generic harem anime. It's similar to Tengen and his wives from Demon Slayer.
