Yeess... I'm learning how to make wigs and I'm so glad I came across somebody last year who placed the rulers on the canvas and I've always practiced that way. I don't see many ppl doing it...🤔 I would assume it would be easier than always reapplying the ruler for accuracy but I guess everything is not for everyone. Great video! 🤗
@@brooklynwigcollection this is encouraging to know! I’m in the same boat right now but I’m seriously struggling! But your videos are very helpful! 💕 thank you!
Yes, keep practicing! Make sure the cap is always flat to the machine on both sides of your line when sewing down your tracks. The key is to relax your hands and not pull to much on the cap, let the machine do most of the work. Thanks for watching!
Yes, its hard when you're trying to learn on your own. I'm mostly self taught and relied on TH-cam videos to help me. I will be posting another wig making tutorial this week. Keep practicing!
Here's a link to the one I use. It fits my brother and singer sewing machine. Thanks for watching! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7TMZ6Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For this brother machine the length and width are built in, I use a #4 zigzag stitch and the tension knob is at 7. Thank you and Thank you for watching!
Great work very detailed video. I have a question for you. When your back stitching, do press down on the foot pedal and the back stich button at the same time? Thank u
I don't know y everytime I back stich the needle breaks. I need to find me a sewing class in Boston. Thank you for replying and keep up with the great work. I'm going to visit your website. Your wigs are fly!
@@celetacruz7447 I only experienced my needle breaking or bending when it hits the metal on the wig comb. I would try these things, rethread my machine, check my tension setting, and make sure the needles are good. And thank you!
Make sure you are using the correct cap size. If the cap is too small and you have to stretch it a lot on the dome head chances are it will shrink. Also check your machine settings and look to see that the needle is not grabbing too much of the cap. Making less lines also helps, remember that the cap will automatically shrink a little with each stitch. Hope this helps! Keep practicing!
When I was using the brother machine I used the #3 zigzag stitch and I kept the tension knob on 7. I now use a singer machine and plan on doing an updated video.
@@brooklynwigcollection I saw your reply on this comment and decided to use the same settings, I just switched to sewing machine wigs and been struggling with the bumps no matter how hard I try not to pull the cap but my tension was on 4, so the machine wasn’t feeding itself and I had to pull both cap and weft to get it to sew. Thank you so much as you just saved me £300 cos I was thinking of buying the singer heavy duty, which is wildly used, thinking my machine was not good for the purpose.
It could happen if the wig cap is not laying flat to the machine, stretching the cap too much, setting on the machine might need to be adjusted. When I first started I used to stretch the cap too much causing it to bunch up, I had to learn to relax my hands and let the machine do the work. Thanks for watching!
This is great Will have to save my money on purchasing wig cups all the time It's become so expensive too But please take time to demonstrate step by step how you put the net on the machine before one starts. Grateful

You're already one step ahead! I never touched a sewing machine before I learned how to make wigs on then. Thanks for watching💕

@@mondayloveth6174 Which machine are you using?
Do you do zig zag stitch or straight?
zig zag
Pls can this dull cap use for all size of heads
Yes, mesh dome caps can be adjusted to any head size.
I made my first wig on machine and my cap shrunk, what did I do wrong

What size stitch and tension you use on your wigs

I just actually pulled out my brother machine and it is the #4 zigzag stitch that I used the most.
Ok thank you so much

If the track is bunched once sewn on why do you think that happens
