I LOVE how u explain it..the best! My front to nape is 14 because I like my wigs to cover lower but my question is if I put my nape measurement “under” that the way u did in the video, won’t that now make it like an inch longer then? Update: I finished watching & got my answer. Wow sis, thank u so much for this. Do u know I have watched at least 10 or more videos on this & u are the ONLY one who REALLY explained it clearly Subscriber for life 😘
@@brooklynwigcollection I’m so disappointed. I did EVERYTHING the way in this video & spent HRS making the wig but it still didn’t come out right! The cap seemed like it stretched or something. It did not fit on my head & it wouldn’t lie down in the back if u know what I’m trying to say. What did I do wrong??
Thanks for sharing. That unit turned out great The colour is 🔥 I have question though 😍 . I hand sew my wigs and take so much time placing the cap on measured out parts on the canvas head but my wigs always end up going over my ears. Apart from that they’re 💣 Any ideas what I’m doing wrong. Oh and how would you remove the excess cap space if you were hand sewing a closure wig please. I’m scared that it could unravel if I hand sewed it down at the front, after I cut out the bit underneath the closure 🙏🏾
Thank you! Ear to ear measurement is usually between 11-13, Make sure the cap is not stretched out to far by the ear area. Yes, I would also be scared that it would unravel sewing by hand. I would either reinforce the stitch with my sewing machine or sew the stitches really close together and double knot each stitch Hope this helps!
@@brooklynwigcollection Hi! I reallly appreciate this video, however English is my second language I have a hard time understanding. Do you mind writing the measurements here and so e words. Thank you so ❤
I use different measurements according to the head size. Ex: 21" canvas head front to nape measuring tape goes to 13", temp to temp measuring tape goes to 14".
@@anony1002 Long neck canvas heads are not ideal for constructing wigs. They are more so used for styling and storing wigs. You would need to get a short neck around 10" in height.
I think I'm getting this right but to make sure is that 9 inches from the bottom/plastic area of the mannequin or above that plastic. Start exactly where?
@ihairyoushop I'm glad I just came back AGAIN I learned more off this tutorial such as you can go over on your tape guides then shrink down for a client. I was pinning & cutting my tapes too exact to the #s
I need help can you measure how far that temple bone is from the bottom of the canvas? I can't get my temple sides to line up I think I'm not placing that middle back up or down under that bone enough
Thanks for the video great content. May I ask why you used an extra large cap for medium measurements why not use a medium or large cap instead to save you from Resizing ? Thanks
you’re the only one who shows how to make the wig & resize the cap after doing the measurements. i appreciate you a lot!
fr my jaw dropped
She's dope definitely underrated. She is going to become well know soòn with the great content she puts out
THE BEST tutorial girl thank you! not too fast, not too slow, just right!

For me too I been getting so confused for over a week & just ran across this 1, thanks!

Thank you soo much for this!!! I have been looking for a video that shows you how to transfer your head measurements on the canvas. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
This video was so helpful. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try this technique when I make my next wig. 💕

Thank you. I've been slipping lately and my wigs have been coming out a whole 1in larger. I'm out here looking crazy 🤦🏾♀️
Very helpful 🙃,, thankyou
Can I use my blow dryer on hot air instead?🤔
You're welcome! Hmmm, I never tried the blow dryer. Let me know if you did and if it worked!
I really appreciate you so much you just don't know I hope you are feeling alot better

Can we use these measurements numbers for different canvas heads (20-24)?
I use different measurements according to the head size. Ex: 21" canvas head front to nape measuring tape goes to 13", temp to temp measuring tape goes to 14".
Hello, thanks for the video. What if the canvas head isn’t GEX. Am I measuring 9”
from the bottom also?
Hello, the measurements would be the same on any canvas head that is the same height as the GEX.
@@brooklynwigcollection the problem is I don’t know how to measure my canvas head. Thanks for your reply
I just measured the height of my canvas and it’s approximately 14” So how do I go about it please?

The bottom of the canvas head.

I loved this video. We’re the measurements you took for this client for a closure wig or frontal?
Closure unit.
Great video...what did you use to shrink the plastic bag.... Was that your hairdryer?
Thank you. No, it was a heating gun.
Thank you for this, please how do I know the right measurement. Or can this measurement be used for any clients? Thank you
The client has to provide you with their measurements.
I need help can you measure how far that temple bone is from the bottom of the canvas? I can't get my temple sides to line up I think I'm not placing that middle back up or down under that bone enough
For a 22" circumference it could be about 7" from the bottom. It will be placed a little differently according to the head size.
Can you still do the ear by ear measurement for a closure?
You don't need it for a closure unit, but you can use it to make sure you're not pulling your cap down to far.
Can I ask why you bring the closure 1/2 an inch down first what does that do?
To have room to put your unit past the hairline.
Do you pull it down forward 1/2 if it was a frontal ?
Yes
when u measure from the front to back, how many inches away from that 9” mark did u do
I believe my client was 13.5 inches.
Thanks for the video great content. May I ask why you used an extra large cap for medium measurements why not use a medium or large cap instead to save you from
Resizing ? Thanks
The caps I prefer come in regular and X-L, the regular one is good for small measurements.
