- This video has all the episodes about building my dugout. I decided to summarize the history of my shelter with this video. I have a lot to do in my new cabin, and this requires more effort and time. Enjoy watching all of you!

Is it crazy that the sound of such videos helps me sleep better and suite me. Like fire cracklings, wood chopping, winds.

I don't think it's weird at all! When I go to bed I look for a long one so I can just sleep to it. But sometimes there's suddenly really loud chopping that'll wake me up riiiiight as I'm about to fall asleep lol

Very nicely done! Now how about a water catchment system (e.g. from rain), toilet and bath facilities. I want to see what you can do without modern technology. Hope you'll show us how inventive you are. Can't wait!

But this was definitely not a German forest. The forestry office, the environmental office, the construction office, the regulatory office, etc. would certainly have spoiled your fun 😉.
Try digging a pit like that in a British Forest full of the Roots of Oak, Beech, Sycamore, etc; with just a Shovel....

Amazingly sandy soil. Here we have so much granite that the builder I worked for sometimes had to hire a blasting company.
I have been watching this far after he fixed eggs and beans. Ex military, survivalist, in 20'S. I am 77 yes young grandmother. I am worn out watching, but, such determination. Concentration. Hope ge puts cap on flu. Still watching. Uh, I would have to have some heavy duty protection. Hopefully will tell where at....😊
Just a note about the door. If something blocks it from the outside, wouldn't it be better if it swung inward.
Bad snow drift could block it.
how are the large horizontal logs ABOVE the ground level held in place? Surely they are just not sitting on the moss from the one below?

Beau travail ! Il faut construire une avancée devant le long du côté la porte d'entrée. Cela protégerait cette zone de la pluie et de la neige, du vent aussi comme un SAS,. Un espace pour ranger le bois coupé en réserve, et les matériels de travail. Super, je n'étais qu'à 20' quand j'ai écrit mon commentaire, bonne idée donc !

I appreciate all the hard work and time put into this. However, I see no advantage to a dugout cabin over a "traditional" above ground one. Quite the opposite actually. Water will be an ongoing problem. You have to dig a hole which is very hard, time consuming and unnecessary. A "traditional cabin" has none of these issues.
