Try using berries or leftovers, maybe try changing your strategies and move set, if you don’t have stat boosts or healing you probably won’t win the majority of the time.

Well, yeah. Leon is actually kinda strong, but I guess some people think he is weak because they either used Eternatus (which, let's admit it, it's kinda unfair), or because they grinded and used the correct type matchups (which is actually pretty admirable) Please don't hurt me, I don't want to offend anyone ;v;
@@paupau6489 I agree with you. Without grinding, Leon is tough even with type matchups. I came to this battle when my team was around level 60 (grinding a little before the whole league), it wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy.
My favorite will ALWAYS be Blue's from firered/leafgreen because it gives you the feeling that he's gone a tad bit insane and power hungry, and it sounds like the perfect reflection and escalation of his rivalry with Red. Red is up there with Blue, I love characters with legend status, especially when they are old protagonists. And Leon has made it to a very close second. I love that guy. He's one of the first Champions who actually sees it as his duty to protect his country and tell the 10 year old kid to not worry and let the adults handle it instead of trusting the kid with tasks that are way too dangerous. He also really gives me Sittkah vibes from Brother Bear. He's strong and confident, but also very kind. The older brother type.
That twist champion really has helped gen 1 stand the test of time. It wasn't the only reason though as gen 1 still has the best designs of them all. No Pokémon game has so much variety and so many consistently great designs. Gen 1 still holds up just fine next to all the others. I'm not saying every other pokemon sucks but none can match gen 1 in the quantity and quality of great designs.
Her mega gardevoir trace ability took hold when I brought in xerneas to melt her, so she got xerneas’ ability and nearly swept my team just because she slightly outsped most my team, ended up pulling through though
Ken tin absolutely agree, also doesn’t help that the fossil Pokémon that gen sucked, and she as a movie actress doesn’t really seem like the type of person to be big into fossils yet she has both Tyra trim and aurorus.

Leon is my new favorite champ along with Steven Stone and Cynthia. The friendship you develop along the way, him always cheering you on to complete the Gym Challenge so you eventually face him, and the fact that he put his life on the line to protect you from Eternatus' onslaught really gave me such a rush when I faced him. Leon's battle just feels so personal.

Na iris is the strongest. I beat cynthia really easily (my team was in the early 50s) while iris kicked my butt so hard I had to borrow my brother's hydriegon

I didn’t complete platinum but i did play diamond and oh my god I’ve had trouble with lucian more than cynthia even though my pokemon were in the low-60s
Her A.I. was kinda bad when I fought against her. She could just easily sweep my whole team (what she almost did with her other pokemon) with Garchomp. I had a Mamoswine and two Ice Shards would be enough to kill her Garchomp, so I took Ice Shard and then, she just could easily kill me with Earthquake, but she took Dragon Rush and missed it lol

Commenting Commenter he does I know because I was cheap and used eternatus, he also comments on how if you didn’t add him to your team. Kukui also comments on if you have Solgaleo or lunala in sun and moon.

Here's the copy paste from Bulbapedia: - If the player does not have Eternatus in their party : "Now that I've seen just what kind of strength you possess as the greatest of challengers...crushing you into the dirt will show everyone just how strong their Champion truly is!" - If the player has Eternatus in their party : "Oh... And you've even added Eternatus to your party. The greatest challenger along with the most powerful Pokémon--is that it? Now you're really getting me excited!" The Wizward was stating that he said the 2nd option regardless, which is false. He only says it when Eternatus is in the party, which is what I believed and what is the case.
After all this journey, it's not Lance's trio Dragonites, it's not Steven's competitive Skarmory lead, it's not Cynthia's Garchomp, and it's not Wallace that once almost made me legit lose for the first time in a pokemon game. It's Iris. By the way, Leon got a good taste of pokemons for his party~
Same, Iris was the only champion to ever bring me down to 1 pokemon. And technically Red did as well back in Crystal but he wasn't champion at that point so eh. Everyone else I swept or they just got me down to half my team.

I almost teared up seeing the BW2 and BW champs and their themes along with their Pokemon. White was my first Pokemon game ever and I will never regret it. Plus the music in gen V is like God level
Leon's actually a fairly strong Champion. His Haxorus knows Iron Tail, his Dragapult has mad coverage, as does the starter he picks up. Aegislash is a decent Pokemon, Mr. Rime is pretty good (but lol Seismitoad/Rhyperior) and his Charizard is broken AF.
I actually struggled with h a bit because I let my guard down lmao. I thought the whole game would be a cakewalk, (it still is) but I didn't expect Leon to be fairly strong
I know a whole lot of people love Cynthia for her personality and very well mixed, challenging team. But... for some reason out of all these battles I remember quite clearly that it was Steven who gave me the hardest time personally.
@Rhythmic Soul I barely got out of his battle alive because I was on Nuzlocke with 3 mons on my team against his bulky team but my Blaziken with 1/4 of his HP survived and everyone else died
Wow how far we have come over the years witnessing one champion after another, and it makes me wonder when they will make a champion with 90’s and one level 100 to make such an epic final battle!
Leon was challenging even though I’ve played Pokemon for years and my team was overleveled his entire team was op because he had varied types two dragon types also the starter Pokemon that was good against yours I also dident have any counters for his dragon types not to mention his speed demon dragapult he is so under appreciated as a strong champion
I somehow won being under leveled, without using Dynamax in Set Battle style and without Fairy types Jk, I used proper strategies that involve using boosting moves at a proper time.
I did a similar comment like this on another Champion video. Regardless all these champions hold a special place in my heart. Blue - Having being shocked and awe finding out your rival just beat the Elite Four before you. I remember that sinking feeling the first time I saw him and the sweet victory I felt when I won, which wasn't easy at the time. Lance - Thought-out your journey you keep seeing and hearing the brilliant strength of this Dragon Tamer. His name strikes fear and his Dragonites were no jokes neither. Steven - This man is the definition of his team. Strong, tough, and daring. With his Steel type Pokemon, Steven pushed you to the limit and questioned your strategy as a trainer. Wallace - Previous gym trainer turned Champion. Wallace did what many trainers in the Hoenn wished they could've done. He showed you the beauty and the soul of Hoenn. Cynthia - There is not a lot I can say about Cynthia that people don't already know. Cynthia demonstrates perfect balance and harmony with her Pokemon. She will test your worthiness. She hope you can deliver. Alder - Alder made a point to be there during your Pokemon journey. His expertise with the Uvona region is shown during his battle against you. Clearly you can tell he is honor fighting such a wonderful trainer. Iris - Iris is the future for the Uvona region with her adamant youth and desire to get better. Using different method and techniques than Alder shows this behavior. Battling is her life. Diantha - She is the prime example of the Kalos region qualities of beauty, elegance and fame. And she radiates these qualities in her battle against the trainer. She's appreciative of the trainer hard work and want to witness their power. Kukui - What a legendary and surprising moment for the Alola region. Their first Pokemon League with the man whose started your journey, the Professor. While Oak might have been the first Professor you could've battled. Kukui takes that honor with this exciting challenge. Hau - With a different timeline and scenarios, you get to battle against the child of Alola. It has been a while since we had a proper rival battle and Hau delivers. Hau with his radiating smile, he knows the thrills for the battle and he's glad he did it with a friend along the way. Trace - People give Trace a lot of slack for essentially replacing Blue as the rival. But with Trace, he brings something different to the game. He has a big heart. With him caring about Pokemon, taking care of the Cubone and overall the nicest rival to date. Trace will fight with his heart content. Leon - You seen this man from the beginning of your journey. He gave you your first Pokemon, you seen him deal with the public, politics, and Pokemon. You constantly hear how great of a trainer he is. And he shows you 100% why he is the Champion. Leon is a superb Champion and if you plan it right, he'll make you regret it.
@@holakase8473 the garchomp, togekiss, milotic sometimes, she is always over level my team. I only won using the max revive in my Pokemon with Ice moves, but without that I sure I will be in trouble
Leon and Cynthia are easily my favourites. Cynthia is so badass, yet so helpful, especially in the anime. Leon is well loved, wise and is just a really cool guy
For gen 5 remakes can we petition to have Iris as the Champion?? I lover her and her theme and I would love to relive that moment from 10 years ago to now
Iris? Lance? their teams are monotypes, if you got any trouble facing them then you are just trash lol, Cynthia and Leon are the best challenging champions for now (Red as a champion is not canon and Blue is not a champion either).
Dragapult is arguably the best pseudo legendary we've had so far. A friend of mine traded me a Dreepy egg and my baby girl is catching up to my team as we head towards the sixth gym. She still hasn't evolved though, and everyone is at their final stage.
Cynthia - Garchomp Steven - Mega Metagross Alder - Volcarona Iris - Haxorus Lance - Dragonite Blue - Blastoise Diantha - Mega Gardevoir. These Pokemons are OP.
My top, based on how I liked their battle (as far as I remember) and the atmosphere, is: 12. Trace 11. Diantha 10. Blue 9. Iris 8. Wallace 7. Cynthia 6. Alder 5. Hau 4. Alder 3. Steven 2. Kukui 1. Leon

Pokémon Y was my first Pokémon game as a kid and I was pretty clueless so I’m really happy to find what people call the easiest Champion difficult it made it more fun since I didn’t know what grinding was back then and just continued the story
Ngl Cynthia's Spiritomb was the Pokémon with no weaknesses prior to Gen 6 , I was having a really hard time battling her . Everytime the Spiritomb hp was on red bar she used a full restore.
Feraligtr in gen 2 was literally op af against lance. If you chose typhlosion then it gets a bit harder If you chose meganium then the body slam hax begins xD
In crystal i had azumarril with ice pinch and in heartgold i had a vaporeon with blizzard and hail, along with surf to deal with aerodactyl and charizard
I didn't even know that you could change that and I had been playing in default (shift) all my life. I changed it some months ago for my Pokémon HG and It's nice, now the game is more challenging.
Also, Kukio surprised me the most. Imagine, you are the champion. You beat everyone and then one more to hold your title: The professor himself. It was a very nice surprise. Imagine if he won. That would of been insane Got to give credit to Leon. He has a pretty balanced team and did well
I feel like I’m one of the few people that actually liked Leon. I don’t really understand why others find him annoying. I think he’s a pretty solid character, and his whole “Undefeated Champion” thing is surprisingly unique (only took them 23 years to do it). Plus he’s one of the more difficult Champions. He’s certainly not a Diantha, even if he’s not quite a Cynthia, either. Plus, he’s the reason you even get to be a trainer in Sword and Shield. As well, his battle theme is really cool. It’s intense, and it even incorporates the Hall of Fame Theme into it.
The fact that 4 generations later Cynthia is still the biggest badass going speaks levels. I'm worried in the remakes she won't have that same level of challenge thanks to the fairy type :/

The denislist: *thinks Leon is the worst champion despite having wide coverage, an incredibly strong team, and a kickass theme that has a remix of the hall of fame theme in it. Making him objectively one of the toughest since Cynthia.* The realist “I’d say Leon is in my top 5 champions” The people who haven’t bought sword and shield because of no nat dex and want to crucify every aspect of the game which of course includes insulting the champion battle: “the easiest champion ever! I will always have a soft spot for Alder. He's just such a dad and one of the more involved champs in terms of story and interacting with the antagonist, an all-around swell guy. I mean, he even asked Cynthia out and took the rejection like a man. Yeah, he's not the strongest and gets humbled by N, but he doesn't want to be. He's not shooting to necessarily be the best, he's here to foster a new generation and support them until he can confidently hand over his position to them. Also he has a Volcarona. Immediate brownie points in my book.

@@jackb450 he isn't tho, his team is scaled up properly to where your level should be with EXP share. At least, where MOST people should be at (you can even see in the video that Mixeli's team was a bit underleveled too)
Cynthia is so overrated. Just because she has Garchomp and a team without overlapping types? Big deal. At least Leon has a more competent team and actually feels more like a Champion. Cynthia is also too lazy to solve any problems herself while Leon nearly saves Galar single-handedly. He even lands a Critical Throw on Eternus with a freaking Poke Ball and nearly catches it.

I actually found his battle challenging...
Leon is my new favorite champ along with Steven Stone and Cynthia. The friendship you develop along the way, him always cheering you on to complete the Gym Challenge so you eventually face him, and the fact that he put his life on the line to protect you from Eternatus' onslaught really gave me such a rush when I faced him. Leon's battle just feels so personal.

I've heard that Cynthia is easier in Platinum, but this video shows a different story. Her pokémon may be lower level, but her A.I. is so much better.
I didn’t complete platinum but i did play diamond and oh my god I’ve had trouble with lucian more than cynthia even though my pokemon were in the low-60s
Her A.I. was kinda bad when I fought against her. She could just easily sweep my whole team (what she almost did with her other pokemon) with Garchomp. I had a Mamoswine and two Ice Shards would be enough to kill her Garchomp, so I took Ice Shard and then, she just could easily kill me with Earthquake, but she took Dragon Rush and missed it lol
And her levels are wayyyy more reasonable (a 17 level jump between volkner and cynthia just isn’t reasonable, at all)

Plus is it really that farfetched not to lose an NPC battle? Aside from a couple of gym leaders and some Elite 4 you can beat the entire series by spamming 1 move with a blindfold on.
The kukui fight was probably the most fun I've had fighting a champion in the recent games.

Steven and Iris are incredibly underrated champions and honestly I'd say Iris is a top 3 champion in regards to strength.
I almost teared up seeing the BW2 and BW champs and their themes along with their Pokemon. White was my first Pokemon game ever and I will never regret it. Plus the music in gen V is like God level
Leon's actually a fairly strong Champion. His Haxorus knows Iron Tail, his Dragapult has mad coverage, as does the starter he picks up. Aegislash is a decent Pokemon, Mr. Rime is pretty good (but lol Seismitoad/Rhyperior) and his Charizard is broken AF.
I actually struggled with h a bit because I let my guard down lmao. I thought the whole game would be a cakewalk, (it still is) but I didn't expect Leon to be fairly strong

I somehow won being under leveled, without using Dynamax in Set Battle style and without Fairy types

I did a similar comment like this on another Champion video. Regardless all these champions hold a special place in my heart.
Blue - Having being shocked and awe finding out your rival just beat the Elite Four before you. I remember that sinking feeling the first time I saw him and the sweet victory I felt when I won, which wasn't easy at the time.
Lance - Thought-out your journey you keep seeing and hearing the brilliant strength of this Dragon Tamer. His name strikes fear and his Dragonites were no jokes neither.
Steven - This man is the definition of his team. Strong, tough, and daring. With his Steel type Pokemon, Steven pushed you to the limit and questioned your strategy as a trainer.
Wallace - Previous gym trainer turned Champion. Wallace did what many trainers in the Hoenn wished they could've done. He showed you the beauty and the soul of Hoenn.
Cynthia - There is not a lot I can say about Cynthia that people don't already know. Cynthia demonstrates perfect balance and harmony with her Pokemon. She will test your worthiness. She hope you can deliver.
Alder - Alder made a point to be there during your Pokemon journey. His expertise with the Uvona region is shown during his battle against you. Clearly you can tell he is honor fighting such a wonderful trainer.
Iris - Iris is the future for the Uvona region with her adamant youth and desire to get better. Using different method and techniques than Alder shows this behavior. Battling is her life.
Diantha - She is the prime example of the Kalos region qualities of beauty, elegance and fame. And she radiates these qualities in her battle against the trainer. She's appreciative of the trainer hard work and want to witness their power.
Kukui - What a legendary and surprising moment for the Alola region. Their first Pokemon League with the man whose started your journey, the Professor. While Oak might have been the first Professor you could've battled. Kukui takes that honor with this exciting challenge.
Hau - With a different timeline and scenarios, you get to battle against the child of Alola. It has been a while since we had a proper rival battle and Hau delivers. Hau with his radiating smile, he knows the thrills for the battle and he's glad he did it with a friend along the way.
Trace - People give Trace a lot of slack for essentially replacing Blue as the rival. But with Trace, he brings something different to the game. He has a big heart. With him caring about Pokemon, taking care of the Cubone and overall the nicest rival to date. Trace will fight with his heart content.
Leon - You seen this man from the beginning of your journey. He gave you your first Pokemon, you seen him deal with the public, politics, and Pokemon. You constantly hear how great of a trainer he is. And he shows you 100% why he is the Champion. Leon is a superb Champion and if you plan it right, he'll make you regret it.
I don’t know about you, but Steven will always be my favorite. Ruby on gba was my first Pokémon game, and also Steven’s theme is such a banger

Dragapult is arguably the best pseudo legendary we've had so far. A friend of mine traded me a Dreepy egg and my baby girl is catching up to my team as we head towards the sixth gym. She still hasn't evolved though, and everyone is at their final stage.

Alder and Iris are my favorites. My boi alder throwing out level 75 pokemon is dope.
I feel like I’m one of the few people that actually liked Leon. I don’t really understand why others find him annoying. I think he’s a pretty solid character, and his whole “Undefeated Champion” thing is surprisingly unique (only took them 23 years to do it). Plus he’s one of the more difficult Champions. He’s certainly not a Diantha, even if he’s not quite a Cynthia, either. Plus, he’s the reason you even get to be a trainer in Sword and Shield. As well, his battle theme is really cool. It’s intense, and it even incorporates the Hall of Fame Theme into it.

The fact that 4 generations later Cynthia is still the biggest badass going speaks levels. I'm worried in the remakes she won't have that same level of challenge thanks to the fairy type :/

Also bruh about screen time cynthia only appears three times before the champion battle, leon deadass gives you your starter and helps you against eternatus and you hear his name all over like bruh

Everyone just seems to gravitate towards Cynthia and Leon. I don't have a favorite champion. Because i love em all.
I will always have a soft spot for Alder. He's just such a dad and one of the more involved champs in terms of story and interacting with the antagonist, an all-around swell guy. I mean, he even asked Cynthia out and took the rejection like a man. Yeah, he's not the strongest and gets humbled by N, but he doesn't want to be. He's not shooting to necessarily be the best, he's here to foster a new generation and support them until he can confidently hand over his position to them.
Also he has a Volcarona. Immediate brownie points in my book.
i think actually leon is second best champion, right behind my girl cynthia, still waitin for sinnoh remakes tho
@@quiescent6851 Leon is on the same tier as Diantha though, main problem is Exp Share giving all your mons exp instead of just 1, who knows how hard he'd be if exp share wasn't permanently on in SwSh
@@jackb450 he isn't tho, his team is scaled up properly to where your level should be with EXP share. At least, where MOST people should be at (you can even see in the video that Mixeli's team was a bit underleveled too)

Cynthia is so overrated. Just because she has Garchomp and a team without overlapping types? Big deal. At least Leon has a more competent team and actually feels more like a Champion. Cynthia is also too lazy to solve any problems herself while Leon nearly saves Galar single-handedly. He even lands a Critical Throw on Eternus with a freaking Poke Ball and nearly catches it.
Your Boy Yamchu Cynthia is just queen, no one will ever come close or ever top her.
What kind of hacks did you use against Iris? She couldn't land any hit with her dragons 😂
